[Q] Debrand a T-Mobile Wildfire?

DO I just use a goldcard and download this:

I'm slightly concerned that it says "HTC Buzz" rather than "HTC Wildfire". Is this normal? am I changing he phone in any way that may prevent it getting updates in the future?
I just need reassurance that HTC Buzz is the same phone as the Wildfire. Was it originally called the Buzz or something, before the marketing men got involved and rebranded it.
The reason I want to debrand is the Froyo update will arrive long before the T-Mobile one arives.

HTC-Buzz and HTC Wildfire are the same. Buzz is the Working-Title and Wildfire the one for sale.
Its typical for HTC-Devices.

What he said. I'm on T-Mobile too and debranded my phone in the same way, although I must say the phone doesn't boot any faster!

i shouldent update the rom to 2.2 when it comes.
wait for the rooted ver, HTC will proberly install a later harder hboot to crack on 2.2 roms.

Can I debrand my H3G UK Wildfire? Do I just have to prepare a goldcard (forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=572683), place it into the phone and then I will be able to downgrade a rom? Thanks in advance for reply.

Hello, it's me again. I've just tried to debrand my phone (H3G UK). I've made a gold card and downloaded that rom: RUU_Buzz_HTC_WWE_1.14.405.2_R_Radio_13.45.55.24_3.35.15.31_release_130814_signed.exe. I run the exe, everything was ok, and suddenly I got an error. It was error 140, something about bootloader version.
I checked bootloader version - HBOOT-0.80.0003
Is there any way to debrand my phone?
Guys, please help me.

It doesn't work. I just got error 140. Can I downgrade or change the bootloader version?

The Problem is the Bootloader Ver.1.19 is newer than RU-Version 1.14, so can NOT downgrade this phone!! You can still wait for Froyo 2.2!

[Q] Getting everything back to normal ?

I want to restore my Desire back to normal, normal ROM (2.1), and the stock radio and non-rooted.
Is there any way I can do this without my carrier (Telus) finding out that I have previously had a custom ROM and this phone had been rooted ?
I wanna do this because my phone fell and now it will not connect to Telus and my sound won't work .

Look in the bravo section not the Desire section of shipped roms.

Also, before you proceed, create a goldcard right now!
There are countless reports of HTC Desire SLCDs being soft bricked while applying the RUUs. Mine was one of them. The gold card is needed to flash a generic RUU in case the branded RUU you try crashes the phone.

[Q] GoldCard for Wildfire S

I have Wildfire S with Asian firmware but i want to convert it to European one.
Can I use the Modaco's GoldCard Tool to create a goldcard and then simply flash Europe RUU?

I'm pretty sure goldcards work the same way and are universal across all android devices.

Hi!!
Yes, you can flash your Wildfire S and convert it to an European model.
You need a GoldCard. They are universal and work in all Wildfire S Models. Please, be aware that they don't work in all android models (for example, they don't work in HTC Sensation) but in this case, yes, they work in ALL wildfire S.
So you just need to create one goldcard.
If you try to flash the european firmware and get "CID Incorrect" error that means that you have not created the GoldCard properly.
If you get "Main Version is Older" error, you have created your GoldCard successfully but attempting to do a firmware downgrade, so your device rejected the firmware.
This can be solved flashing the Misc Partition with an earlier version number that the one you are trying to install. Please be careful flashing your Misc Partition as your device might be bricked.
You may find a tutorial in this forum about how to flash your Misc Partition.

I got a wildfire s from vodafone spain and because it's full of junk I want to install the retail rom...so I made a goldcard as explained in this forum and it seems it worked all right , I put the zip file on it (also downloaded from a link in this forum) but now if I want to flash it nothing happens
If I press volume down and power absolutely nothing happens and when I release it just boots as usual and not in download mode ....any ideas what the problem might be ?

please help me.i have t mobile desire z?????dont know but even after reading a ltot i am not able to find which phone do i own?
coz in phone/settings/about it says htc desire z but it have t mobile logo instead htc and also physical keys are matched with that htc desire z.

I have read all your post and replies. This is not any other post, m posting this after going for hours through your forum.
I have tried the new HTC Any root method, doesnt work. I rooted htc incredible s it rooted it, but with wildfire s it give error of out of memory. i made a space of 93mb in system memory, but still didnt work.
I have tried to update bootloader from HTC dev site, but my software version is 2.26.401.3, and no ROMs are yet available for this.
I have specifically searched wildfire s forum and have tried all the rooting methods but failed.
I have also tried the specific blog for htc wild fire s method but failed.
Kindly advise one method for which i can root htc wildfire s with above specifications.
Or can it be rooted at all?
I shall be very thankful.

will you please tell me what error you got while unlocking bootloader ??? i have same device and just figured out what i was doing wrong. maybe i could help.

Hi Ali well I rooted my wfs yesterday. Here's what I did.
1. Get ur bootloader unlocked from htcdev (just register and start following the steps, *Skip the RUU step*)
2. Restart ur wfs in hboot (by pressing power button and volume down)
3. Select fastboot and enter the cmd instructions.
4. Copy and paste the string and send it to htcdev for ur unlock key.
5. Follow the remaining steps to unlock the bootloader.
6. If. Your device is S-Off then go ahead with the root if it's S-ON then use the universal exploit and make sure that u have the original SD card inserted when using the universal exploit.

Don't uninstall the above:
1 - it didnt work for me (Wildfire S, euro version)
2 - it installs a lot of junk software (toolbars, IM icon packs etc) that took me half an hour to uninstall.

I am unable to update may rom through RUU.
Yoy asked to skip RUU step but htcdev.com says that it is required.please help me what should I do?
i have spent a lot of time on unlocking bootloader but all in vain..

man can u tell me how you had rooted your wfs? i've unlocked my bootloader and i'm s-on but I'm stuck on HTC logo screen when hitting the recovery..thank you!
