Does anyone know why it's so slow to upload a 20mb < 1 minute video to youtube? it's been going for 10 minutes and only 60%... I'm on wifi and I have almost 512kbps upload on my connection!
512Kilobits or KiloBytes?

512Kbps - lowercase = bits... I don't have a 4Mbps upload speed
But this was my first time uploading anything to youtube... I tried again putting it on the computer first, and it took just as long! so I guess it's just youtube is stupidly slow! - glad it's not a problem with the phone

yeah it's just your ISP.. not the phone itself..

Damn, so many people on this forum are trolls...
With my connection speed a 20mb file uploads anywhere else in about 5 minutes... but to youtube, it took almost 20 mins.
The root of the problem is youtube... people don't need to imply that I don't know what I'm talking about, or that my ISP is crap.

Literally on the T-Mobile version, it takes about a minute from when you press install to come to the confirmation screen (this app has access to) to allow you to press ok and then download and install.
Anyone else have this problem and has anyone thought of a workaround?
I've extracted vending.apk to my desktop and tried removing it but obviously don't have permissions, need root. Would have then pushed vending.apk from a nexus one rom to see if that made a difference.
I've been downloading quite a few apps and it seems fine to me, as fast as the iPhone app store. I've been doing it through WiFi though.
Mine is very fast. Downloading apps/watching HQ youtube. I'm using 3G or is it HSDPA? (I see the H logo). I live in Leicester

It's definitely not the internet speed (I also get HSDPA (H Logo)).
It's not so much finding apps its when I click on an app and press install it takes about a minute to load the next screen which says something like "This app will have access to <> [OK] [Cancel]"

I don't have that problem tbh, although my Sense UI crashed twice since I got it in the afternoon and restarted by itself
No problems for me - smooth and quick.

Yep, mine is fast from the point of initiating the install to actually using the app.
I had that problem, but content unlock fixed it.
Try it.
That assuming you're on T-Mobile, which at this point most of us are on

I phoned them to remove it, for some reason 150 disconnected before she said bye but it should have worked.

You can do that on www.t-mobile.co.uk
Also, don't forget to reboot the phone.
I am having that problem from time to time with my G1. It usually happens after the first boot when I have wiped the phone. If I just leave the phone with the market app open for half an hour it usually is smooth again.
I've noticed browsing the internet is very slow for the past week or so.. why is that?

Try Downloading adfree from the market and then open and download and install latest host files and that should fix it. Best of luck
Worked for me.
Hey guys,
I dont have a Data Plan, but I installed the App Data Counter Widget(collects Wifi Data too) to see, how much Wifi Data I use in a day to see how many gigabytes of data I would approximately need in a plan.
Well, I installed it at like 2 pm yesterday and was home for the rest of the day, played with the phone a lot, and at the end of the day it said I used a little bit more than 60MB. Sounded legit to me.
Well now I just woke up and it said almost 500MB
Hows that possible? The only Apps that notificate me when something happens are facebook and gmail.
The Data Counter App says, I received almost 100MB and sent almost 400MB.
And that in one night in which I didnt touch my phone?!
Maybe you have the autosync enabled.. check that out...
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
yeah it was on. I turned it off, lets see what tonight brings

in my opinion yes , it can be done .
but from my expirence you cant use 400 mb in 1 night even with sync and updates ....
unless you downloaded a really big game HD one without wi-fi soyes it's possible ...

400KB this night. That sounds more legit lol.
No idea what was up that one night :S
Apologies if this is an obvious question but could someone check on a site such as twitch.tv / justin.tv and tell me if this phone can run the streams ok on at least 480p. My current phone lags on lowest settings! So it would be nice to know if this phone handles streams ok. If it can I will definitely pick up the phone! Thank you

T-Mobile and throttling
T-Mobile does throttle its video streaming.
