I agree with your selection. JackOS roms are great regarding speed and flexibiliby. I prefer the EVO version, but the S3 is also great.
I also like NRGX28 roms, but regarding features I think Energy ROMs are the best. However, Energy ROMs are RAM hungry, so you get lots of features but not so much multitasking benefits.
Best Regards,
MisterNauta
RHODIUM and TOPAZ user

and for both, Illuminati series CHT 2.0
it's awesome fast, stable, bug free, I barely restart my phone

WCX's ROMS are fast, fast, fast.....his Illuminati CHT is feature rich due to CHT, and uses very little device storage...VERY little...it manages RAM very well and the 21916 is a multi tasking beast...I love it....I love NRGZ ROM too...those are the two I recommend...if youve tried NRGZ's and want to try something else, try WCX's CHT...you'll see...it's very nice

WCX roms are the fastest that maintain stability IMO.

All these new roms are makin my head spin!

So I visited the forum tonight for the first time in a month (feels like 3! ) and I find many new ROMs floating around. Interestingly there is a lot more use of touchflo and the cube - obviously some of the wrinkles have been ironed out since last time
Basically, I wanna try some new ROMs, and there are a couple that have caught my eye (Faster Again, K's Rom), but I would also like to hear if there are others that I should, in your opinion, not overlook. Positive/negative aspects would be appreciated as well.
I have tried the K's ROM V1.21. Very fast. Together with the TouchFLO and TouchCube from eFrost + Kona, it is the best for me so far.
i agree K's rom, is very fast and stable
K's also
Completly agre.
K's is the faster and most stable I ever flash to my hermes.
TNT rom is the best one for me.
I'm using Shamanix's Grass v2, and it's the best I've found (althought all this is personal opinion!) for speed vs functionality
The best advice would be to look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=320370
I am 100% (well 99% as Internet Sharing fix is still under development ) happy with Shamanix 2.2 - stable & very fast. Altough I didn't tried new K's rom...
TNT or K's
I am using Pays 1.23 (Faster Again), and love the speed and 78 mb of storage.
I am using Pays Rom its very stable and FAST!
I vote Pay's as well. Tried a couple and this one seems to be most stable and quick without the bloat.
Wow thanks for all the quick responses guys! Looks like i've got 4 solid ones to try out.
I dont know about anyone else but i have taken a liking to Shaps 4.22
mmm i'll stick with TNT SE
It would prove a lot more useful if when you recommend a rom you state WHICH ONES YOU HAVE TRIED! Don't worry about hurting the cooks feelings!
I have tried Schaps 4.22 and now I am using K's 1.30. The first thing to impress me was that selecting new sms was pretty instantaneous where as with all the other Roms I've used to date I had to watch the busy symbol for a couple seconds.

Welcome Back! TNT Special Edition or K's Full! Have fun flashing!
i've tried K's all of Shaps' and vp3g's, the Pandora Naked 6.....i feel like i've tried them all but I always find myself coming back to Shamanix's Grass 1.3. It's fast, light and stable. For me anyway it has the right combination of space and functionality. The Naked ROM was, well, a little too naked and some of the others came w/ a bit too much. 64MB of storage and over 31MB of program memory on a cold boot w/ the apps included in Grass v1.3 not to mention the speed and stability i've found make it my choice.
happy flashing!
Started off with K's and will try a few days, so far so good. A fully functional Touchflo is soooo nice

Did you find that the touchflo/touchcube thing slowed down your phone? I want to try it out but i'm really enjoying how fast my phone is running with just k's and I don't want to bog it down. Thanks.

working touchflo?
btw.. full or lite?

The end of the Trinity ROM developement

With the introduction of the 6.5 ROM, we all know that this rom is to heavy for the trinity user. Realisiticly seen we are left with the 6.1. So. The question that are arises, is there anyone here that is able to cook a good, quality, stable rom that is clean, has touchflow extracted from 6.5 and with uptodate software, kinda like the tytnn rom or the flinx one.
are you blind? there are nice working and fast WM6.5 roms out there, i'm using one myself so... pointless topic.
thanx

....really don't be so "blind"eheheheh!!!!my trinity is going very well wuth rubenalf ita tranlsation, jml today 5.5,tomtom7,videocalling,wifi going well, navisat working, google maps,Icontact,s2p music player,4 gyga microsd, diamond clock with animation -
- the only problem is my battery, after 2 years of really hard working now I'm really thinking about changing it!!
those 6.5 roms are slow on the trinity devices. Let's be honest. If you break the 6.5 down and strip it off, then it runs with poor memory. Conclusion? Trinity will not be able to take the 6.5 fully.
... pointless topic
Super Ultra Lite version of 28014. Fast, staible, lots of free space.

there is not much free memory, we can trim down any rom and make it as small as we want. But can we make 6.5 so that it has a lot of free memory? No.
little reflection
trinity is a very very good device!!!
but last period roms have recentely become beautiful and heavy for our little jewel.
Unfortunately, the development of this work no longer leads to great satisfaction as before
I thank all the heroes - cooks who have allowed us to see with interest our device for several years without tiring us.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

WM 6.5 23504 Lite
26.07MB Free Ram - While Running SPBMS 3.5, it settles in to 18-22MB

I don't know about you, but seems to me this is plenty of free RAM. It's even more than some of the older builds. There will be more updates to come still, just working out bugs on the latest builds.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=600957
yes I agree withbguys about 6.5 is too heavy to be honest and u can't run programs need a lot of memory or need a cpu preformane ...
I'm wondring about if this radio rom is spending battery 1.38.00.11 cuz I'm running out of battery so fast when I'm using internet and if there's a better one how I can change it cuz I tried too many times to change and didn't work
i just tried the 23504 Blue. It's slow. . . I keep on returning to finx latest rom with adjusted page pool settings. This rom is pretty fast, stable and has sufficient ram. If anybody is convinced trinity can handle 6.5 like that. Show me.
i also tried 6.5 and went back to 6.1.
Sure you can use 6.5 but it's slower, no matter how lite the version is. Start installing some stuff (specially recent versions which are also heavier) and everything feels even slower.
Nowadays no one produces software thinking about how it will run on our old trinity.
I'm even considering going back to 6.0 to see if i can get some more speed, don't think i'll be missing much from 6.1 anyway.
I'm currently on tomme45i's 6.1 which is a very good rom but it is also a bit slower (and buggier, imho) than finx's.
well, i'm using a 6.1 rom from tommie45, for me, it's the better rom i have ever try!!!
i dont know how, but his roms are the most stable and complete for trinity. it's my opinion!
i gave up on tommie45's rom and got back to finix 3.7.2.
It's not as pretty (b&w icons, uglier in general) and some functionality is less practical but... it feels much faster!
I recommend doing the same if the rom you are using feels slow.
Im using SuperSport WM6.5 build 23506 LITE and there hasn't been so much problems with it, but I can agree, 6.1 is faster, but the pro's in this rom is to many for me to use 6.1...
If I find the thread I'll put the link to it here.
Today at the phone store, they said they couldn't order the htc 3600 ( trinity ) anymore.......

yeah it's a shame right? 3 years ago this phone was at the pinnacle of mobile communications, and today omg there's so many other things out there
however trinity and windows mobile is not dead! i've retired to a blackberry for my telephone call needs, but the trinity is now a dedicated GPS/dictionary. anyone else using it purely as a non-phone pda now?? and which rom??

[Q] why dont people cook roms ?

ok so i just got the lg expo and i am coming from the htc hd2 and i must say i am very dissapointed that there are not more cooked roms for the expo. and to be honest im not really sure what exactly the dragon rom does? i got my expo already loaded with it and dont see anything different. i mean with the hd2 there were roms that looked nothing like stock and ran just amazing but there is nothing for the expo.....why? why dont we have cool roms? why?

So you didn't run the stock rom at all?
Dragonstorm is a huge improvement and much more in line with what you'd expect from a new win mobile. LG's interface appealed to a few, but most were not fans. The stock rom was also an older build (with the start menu at the top).
If you visit lg-expo.com you can find a couple of sense based roms if that's more what you were looking for, but that's more htc-ish obviously and a few things aren't working quite right yet.
I think the quality of Dark's work is a large factor in the lack of other roms. It's got everything you need and you've got room to add whatever you want.
I also think theres a decent number of people are cooking "privately". I have reasons for not sharing any of my builds so far (time, apps I cooked, etc), but fear not, I do intend to eventually. In the meantime, I look forward to seeing your builds.
I too would like to see more choices in the expo rom section; But I do quite like darks rom.
But see what I don't understand is what is different? I never ran the stock rom but this dragon rom seriously feels stock to me. I mean the hd2 stock rom was better then this. I'm NOT saying it's a poor quality rom and I do want to be clear that this rom does work well. But I'm used to having loads of style and setup options and customized themes out the wazoo. So I seriously look forward to some sweet Roms in the future.
Dark's ROMs are built to improve speed, memory, GPS, etc. He lays out a great foundation for you to add apps. If you add to much in your ROM, it will gobble up all the phone mempry. These ROM are fast and free up phone memory. The stock ROM were bogged down by useless apps. If your looking for a more flashy ROM there is a touchflow ROM at lg-expo.com

More stuff in rom does NOT equal more ram used up. more services and more stuff running equals more ram used. Just make sure to keep that clear yes ATT bloat does use up more ram but its not the fact that it uses more rom space its that it runs more programs.

You're trying to compare a HTC device's ROM to an LG device's ROM. Obviously they are going to be different. You can't really compare the two, stock or otherwise especially when the stock HD2 comes with Sense and the eXpo stock has the LG Idles instead.
Like posted before, there is a Sense build posted over at lg-expo.com that has actually been downgraded back from 2.5 to 2.1. Sense was never designed to run on this device so it's pretty awesome that thekingvrock got it working cooked into a ROM. Personally I'm waiting for an Android build, but the Sense ROM is pretty nice.
You also have to keep in mind that the device itself is still relatively new since not many people were able to get it at launch with all of the delays. Plus not everyone that was able to get a device earlier on were devs or anyone that could even make a full rom. HTC devices have been out for years and the architecture is similar enough to have plenty of ROM options shortly after launch. It's going to take some time for more roms to come out for the eXpo, but it has the potential to be a pretty damn good device.
Well I'd love android on this [email protected] phone. I'm always looking here and on lg-expo.com

[Q] Gingerbread for DHD?

hi,
Been looking all over the development forum looking for a custom rom gingerbread for DHD. No idea which one is good, any suggestions? thanks in advance.
Hi,
"Good" is subjective. Some prefer slim ROMs with minimal installed apps, performance tweaks, and stripped down services. Some prefer proven and tested builds for utmost stability, sacrificing some neat new features others have access to. Some prefer full-fat ROMs with nifty apps, enhanced UI appearance, and a fully enabled device with maximum usability, sacrificing responsiveness.
Which ROM you think is "good" is for you alone to decide. Try one, if you don't like it, try another. If you can flash one, you can flash them all. Give them a go.
HTH.

As of now theres only 2 viable versions to consider, either CM7 Nightlys from Cyanogen Team: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=917271
or the CM7 Nightlys Modified with minor tweaks: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=918639
Both are still in development so no support yet, flash at own risk

[Q] Synergy ROM RLS1 user, looking for faster and updated ROM

I have been running Synergy RLS1 for a few months now pretty successfully. The only issue I have with this ROM is that it becomes sluggish at times and the battery drains very quickly.
I would like to find a new ROM to flash as Synergy has reached the end of its development AFAIK, but I have so far found it difficult to locate one in which everything works, like it has in Synergy. There are so many ROMs out there, it's tough to research them all. I would like some suggestions.
My requirements:
Android 2.3.5 or higher
Sense 3.5 (Sense 3.0 is fine if it is highly stable and fast)
wifi, 3g, usb & camera working (4g not necessary)
Imo the best rom ive been on has been miui is fast and smooth ,however,i had loads of iisues with gps so i switched to cm7 and fell inlove this rom is super fast stable and everything works besides 4g i think .now i am on eternity efected rom and i dont think ill go back to another rom lol .no 4g but in my area i barely have any so its all good .i did not like syenery with god mode but again thats my opinion .try cm7 or eternity by virus .good luck
A couple suggestions.....if u want stability speed and a frequently updated Rom try mikg 3.0. Very much like synergy in that it is sense 2.1 + 3. Way better than synergy however.....aamikam is a really top notch dev.
If u must have sense 3.5 go for vin's r3mix. He's also a very active dev as far as sense 3.5 goes, its extremely quick. Still though, any 3.5 Rom is gonna have issues.

Mikg has been way furthur developed. Synergy stopped over the summer and since then there have been some cool new features like the insanse amount of stuff in miktweaks. It is actively developed and the forum at themikmik.com is awesome. Super friendly peeps, lots of themes, mods, etc. Mik is also the master at optimizing everything for a super snappy rom that doesn't seem to get "bogged down" over time.

Thanks for your suggestions. I have narrowed it down to 2 ROMS. MikG Sense 2.1 + 3 v3.0 and Team-Nocturnal Shooter Port for HTC EVO 4G. Of the two, the MikG ROM seems to be the more stable, full featured & most supported. The Shooter ROM however has Android version 2.3.5, for which I like a few of the changes since 2.3.3
