I recently got a Wildfire S A510b which is branded. (It says Telstra and Next just after HTC screen on boot-up and has a TelstraOne app which is what I suppose branded means, right?)
When I load up the bootloader this is what shows up:

With this, would I be able to debrand my phone and then update to 2.3.5 and finally root it?

Would this work? Seems like the ROM is a European one but I have Australian phone. I also saw there was a more recent ROM:

I've done a fair bit of searching but I can not find which RUU I should be using to upgrade a GSM HTC One V with the CID of HTC_017.
This was a gift, as part of the experiment put on during DEF CON XX, and I genuinely do not know the origination of the phone, though I do have the packaging, serial, product, and other information for the device.
Looking to update radios, then root, but I got an Error 130: Model ID error when trying to flash an Asia_WWE RUU.

I, too, have a couple of these phones and would LOVE to know what model they actually are. (and where on earth to obtain an RUU for them!)

... i have seen threads about the chinese version of the phone (are there huge numbers of people from China here on the forums with this device??) and a link to someone who has "all other versions" but that person's file share seems to totally lack US based RUUs.
Can anyone tell us what exact model this is and also drop a direct link to the appropriate RUU?

alright, thanks for the update. i'm not overly concerned because these phones aren't personally tied to any of us, but i suppose it's a prudent move.
still no suggestions as to where one would turn for details of the RUU package?

Bump - Anyone know if there is an RUU available for the HTC_017 CID?
I am currently using the CM9 on mine, but would like to try out Stock ROM if possible?
Also, would it be bad to change the CID to one in the Telus RUU approved list, to force that stock onto phone? It seems to be the only North American HTC ONE V stock ROM that is GSM friendly currently published by football.

I've some roms, PA 3.10&2.99 and the backed up stock rom, which is both not working to boot properly somewhy, but I wanna v S-off such conditions. Plus, I v n found out the methods to v S-off yet for newer Htc phones but One X & XL
Do guys have some ideas to these compound cases? Thx for solutions anytime especially developing such S-off tools by self

T4 I've been recommending guys to v considered to make such tools for both all guys who v such situations
