Hi, I have a problem, when I try to mount /sdcard in Recovery I get error mounting /sdcard, the SD-card works fine in Windows and if I use Villain ROM. Any idea whats wrong?

Why do you want to mount SD card in recovery manually? If you want to use USB storage, you can enable this option with an extra option (Toggle USB-MS).
SwiftKeyed from CyanogenMod with Transparent XDA App
So I can install another rom from recovery
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda premium
You don't need to mount SD card manually. Just flash zip.

I know but when selecting the install from zip the error comes.

Which recovery do you use?
Are you S-OFF? If yes, change to another recovery via fastboot.
S-off and clockworkmod 5.0.2.0, the original SD-card works fine.

Check a different recovery anyway, to find out if it's the SD card or the recovery.
I will do that

I flashed to RMD recovery v 1.0.3.4 and so far no problem.

Error Mounting SD card- HTC Desire
Hi Guys,
I rooted my HTC desire few days ago and I tried to install LeeDroid HD with A2SD ROM with couple of addons through ROM Manager. And then when it installed and the phone rebooted I am getting the white screen with HTC logo folled by black screen with Android written on it. And it just stuck there.
When I started the phone into clockwork recovery mod and started to backup and restore it gives me an error E:/ Cant' mount/sdcard. Now I am stuck and need your help.
Please tell me how do I get rid of this problem and install another ROM and save my phone. A step by step guide would be really appreciated as I am new to this.
Thanks!

I had this Rom, just flashed the lastest recovery in fastboot,. Try flashing this in fastboot
check if the forum where you downloaded the rom matches to your phone...at & t one x is not the same like european one x's, because of the chipsets.
That could probably be the reason for aborting...

Have you tried installing a simple mod, anything, to see if your system partition can get remounted with rw?
Another thing I would try is to install supersu if you're using superuser and vice versa, and update su binaries.

You need to flash the kernel separately using fastboot. HOX doesn't have s-off so the kernel isn't flashed in recovery.
Extract the boot.img from the rom zip and fastboot flash boot boot.img

So the update is failing because its a stock Rooted rom.. Why would the guy upload a nandroid and call it stock when its not.
Root is not the issue. It updates fine with root acces.

Whats the method for updating the Hboot without OTA?? never done it before.
Put the phone in the fastboot usb mode. Take the firmware.zip from the ota and put it in the fastboot folder on the pc.
Open the command window and relock the bootloader
Fastboot oem lock
Fastboot oem RebootRUU
Fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
Unlock the bootloader and install a clean new rom via a new custom recovery.
I recommend philz 5.15

adb only works in os and recovery, fastboot is when in bootloader
You are best off to root with gfree but at this point you need to return to stock or at least get a working os and downgrade radio, so for now flash a ROM in your recovery and the extract the kernel and flash it in fastboot

i forced ruu from fastboot and it fails after sending img in ruu, signature, error 155 in ruu
after next couple tries i've got 130 error, wrong Model ID Error
You don't have superCID so most RUUs won't work, at this point take any ROM, flash it in recovery, extract the kernel from this ROM .zip (boot img) and the use fastboot to flash it
fastboot flash boot boot.img
This will get you a working os
Now you need to follow the guide to downgrade in order to allow gfree to run its exploit as the radio version you have is too high
All this can be found in the thread I linked you to but feel free to ask further questions as well

You may have ran something that locked your bootloader which will make things very tricky unless you still have a custom recovery. i want fix it i don't have to, but i really like it and i would like to fix it anyway. I can't make a root and gfree because i've got errors in adb, something about eMMC
That's because your kernel has been manipulated to allow os to run from SD rather than emmc. I don't believe you will be able to use gfree while doing this.
If you want real time help I would suggest going to freenode #g2root

Well you often need to wait around a while on #g2root or keep trying back if no one is there
What is current info on bootloader screen? Are you still unlocked?
Why not try and flash a ROM ROM through recovery and then use fastboot to flash the kerenl like I mentioned in my first response
Then with a functioning os you can begin the process to root and gain s-off with gfree
i try and won't start. i wait on g2root but one person try to help me and nothing with that
