Hi
I just ordered three items from 'Mobile Fun' and all three were out of stock, with no clue as to when they will be back in stock - useless!!
Can anyone recommend an alternative (expansys dont have what I want)
I am after:
- Retractable USB sync/charge cable
- Car charger (that has standard USB socket on back of it)
- Mains charger (with USB output)
- HTC Universal case
Idea being to save carting around separate chargers for camera, phone, mp3 player, bt headset etc.
For the record I ordered:
- i-mate JASJAR Leather Case Out of stock 14/11/2005
- Martin Fields Retractable USB Sync Cable - Orange C500 & MDA Compact
Out of stock 14/11/2005
- 3 in 1 Charger Pack for Samsung Phones Out of stock 14/11/2005
- Royal Mail First Class Delivery Out of stock 14/11/2005

Not sure what the deal is with Mobile Fun. I too ordered three different items yesterday. Their website said that all three items were in stock so I expected them to arrive today.
Then I received an email saying that all three items were out of stock.
Maybe Mobile Fun don't actually keep any stock!
I emailed them back to say that if the items aren't with me in the next few days then cancel my order.
Hiya, I ordered a retractable sync 'n' charge cable from eXpansys for the Universal... I found it by looking at the accessories available for the jasjar, I think. I have also in the past bought an "all in one" travel kit for the BA from them (and have seen that they do one for the Universal) that comprises a mains to usb charger with several international & uk mains plug converters, a car lighter socket to usb adapter and a usb to BA cable. It was about £12 for the BA if I remember rightly...
I've not looked at cases yet, but include a link for the sake of completeness!

I bought my Galaxy Tab 10.1 at BestbuyCanada but they do not have the adpater for USB drives in stock or even listed as they do in the US. I have searched and searched but can find no stores in Canada that sell this. I can buy through ebay but looks like its about 3X the price.
Have any Canadians out there purchased one and if so, where did you get it? Maybe my best bet is to wait until they come here?
Thanks!
micro sd/mmc card/usb adaptors
Hi, considering sgt 10.1 have no micro sd/mmc and usb ports, might consider these adaptors approved by sammy. Around usd50 for both i.e rm150 plus. Found in kl malaysia, but ebay price is sky high.TQ

Might have no choice but to wait. Many of the ones being advertised on ebay are the 'duo' kits with sdcard and usb adapters, but nobody is going to have stock until the middle of September according to their auction listings. Accessories seem to be slowly trickling into local stores, well at least the cases and hdmi adapters at staples now. I don't like the idea of adapters hanging off the bottom of the unit because it makes it impossible to stand the unit up in pretty much any folio type case. You could mount the tablet upside down in the book case, but then some apps which default to landscape only display one particular way.

I think I am getting the 32GB wifi SGT 10.1 for christmas from the wife...since it's really the only thing i asked for.
i've been reading up on stuff to be ready to root and to know what accessories to buy, etc.
i've read over lots of threads today and some are outdated or just scattered with links here and there of accessories.
i would like some help to come up with the best accessories that i will buy for myself on christmas day or ones i might want down the line.
SO PLEASE HELP (with links to actual products...amazon preferred):
Case/cover/stand
Charging/Multimedia Dock
Adapters
Extra Cables
Keyboard Dock or Bluetooth Keyboard
Anything else i should look for...
i hand out THANKS to anyone who helps make this a complete and up to date list with all the latest and greatest for the SGT 10.1
You will probably get a lot of different opinions on this one. Most will likely be correct since there is no absolute right answer. I am a new user as well so I can share with you what I have or plan to get.
My Tab came with the Samsung pouch case which is fine but a bit inconvenient. Where do you put it when you pull the Tab out for use. I picked up one of the clip-style cases on eBay. It is very lightweight and functional.
I am going to gamble that Gorilla Glass is as tough as they say and not get a screen cover. I have, however applied a coat of Rain-X to help minimize the accumulation of fingerprints.
My device also came with the Samsung keyboard dock. This is a very nice device but not something you will probably take on the road. If you want a traveling keyboard, you might want to look into one of the integrated keyboard cases. Just remember, one of the great aspects to tablets is their light weight. Adding the mobile keyboard will double the weight.
I am still shopping for a do-it-all adapter cable. One day all tablets will come with USB, HDMI and card readers built in. I expect that I will need or want all of those connection options but right now, it does not appear that there is a plug-adaptor that offers all of those functions. The minimalist way to go is to get a USB cable or dongle which will allow you to plug in a variety of things. There is an interesting looking hub adapter on eBay that includes and SD reader and three USB ports. I have not yet heard reports from any actual users but for less $14 it might be worth giving it a try.
HDMI connectors remain elusive. The only ones that I have found so far require a 110V power connection in order to work. I am sure something will show up down the road.
One annoying thing about the Tab is the high amperage requirement for charging. Most car chargers put out far less than the 2A minimum that this device needs. USB ports on most computers are also underpowered for the Tab. If you travel, you will need a car charger. Just make sure that it will push enough current to charge your Tab.
If you are like me, the most important stuff that you will add to your new Tab will be Apps. There are many thousands of apps out there. Most seem to be games or less-than-useful apps that are not worth your time. There are, however a number of really useful apps out there that you will want to check out. Search this forum and others for opinions on that subject.
Hopefully you will find my observations helpful.
Bob
Hmm...there aren't a lot of them
Today I just bought the Samsung Galaxytab 10.1 USB adapter at Bestbuy for $19.99. At first I thought it was only for connecting a USB thumb drive but I found later it can be used for much more. In fact I tried using a Logitech Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Unifying adapter. It works flawless, in fact the response of the keyboard was spot on, if the unifying wireless adapter works I'm sure the mouse would too. The USB thumb drive works like a charm as well. I also bought the Dock for the Tab, Bestbuy doesn't sell the one with the HDMI output but does sell this one with the 3.5mm Lineout for audio and charging adapter at the back. The dock is connected to the 30pin adapter and can be charged and also have the USB dongle attached at the back for convenience. Bestbuy also has the Targus leather case stand for it, it's fairly thick material with a nice leather like microfiber interior to help in protecting the tab from scratches, it also doubles as a nice stand with three positions. All three products for just under 100 bucks. By the way the Dock was 34.99 and the case I believe was 39.99.
thanks for the replies. still looking for more help/links.
very good info though
i've also seen 2 different "OEM" USB connectors
EPL-1PL0BEGSTA & EPL-1PL0BEGXAR, what's the diff?
which is newer/better?

One drawback... you cannot charge the Tab when using the adapters.
Just got 'DigitalsOnDemand 15-Item Accessory Bundle for New Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Wi-Fi / 3G 4G LTE 16GB 32GB'
Includes: DigitalsOnDemand Black TPU Skin Case, Crystal Clear Case, Premium DigitalsOnDemand Leather Case with Kick Stand, Screen Protector, Adjustable Reading Book Light, Earphones with mic, Earphone Splitter, AUX Cable, Wall Charger Adapter, Car Charger Adapter, USB Sync Cable, Retractable USB Data Cable, Fishbone, DigitalsOnDemand Drawstring Travel Pouch, Black Stylus Pen
Cables, earphones and adapters work fine. I honestly bought the bundle just for the extra cables and adapters, so was pleasantly surprised that the cases look all fine. Loved the leather case (not used the other two till now). The stylus is nothing great, but is a nice extra in the package. Have not tried the screen protector as I feel there is no need for it. All in all an excellent buy for just below $60.
The USB adapter came free with my tab. So check before you by one.
I forgot to mention that I also ordered 'New Trent iGeek IMP99D 9900mAh External Battery Pack Dual USB ports' I got it on cyber Monday for $40.95 now it's $61.95 (still down from list price of $ 129.95). The battery is compatible with Tablet PCs with 5V/2A input (Ipad 2, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, HTC flyer). This will take care of battery issues in my mobile devices. The product name includes the amazon link and here is their own website http://www.newtrent.com
It's still with a friend of mine in US, so will get it only next month. Will give a full review once I receive it in India. However I am already happy with recommending them, as the customer service is out of this world. There were some problems with the order by credit card. They immediately contacted me. The owner self spoke with me and immediately solved all issues.
thanks a bunch. i will check to see what all is included before i buy anything extra...also i have thought of buying one of those battery packs before, but never pulled the trigger due to price and not the greatest reviews on some of them....some say they work great at first, then dont hold a charge or explode or whatever.
I had similar concerns, as I read some very negative reviews on some external battery packs. I bought this model, because I read very good reviews about this company and got it for an very enticing US$ 40.95. The website also specially mentioned that it is compatible with Tablet PCs (iPad 2, SamSung Tab 10.1, and HTC flyer) and it weighs only 250g. The 11000 mAh would have been 285g.
It includes
IMP99D external battery pack (9900mAh)
USB cable for charging Cell phone device
One USB cable for charging Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
MiniUSB adapter for Blackberry
MicroUSB adapter for Blackberry and HTC Androd, Moto Droid
AC Wall Outlet plug with voltage range 100V-240V suitable for worldwide travelers
English user manual
here is a short review I found for the battery pack I purchased

Here is another video from the predecessor model which helped me to make my mind up:

As already told experienced also excellent customer service.
i've bought only 3 things so far.
the case/stand
the USB & SD Card adapters
which dock is the best dock (link on amazon please) and will it work with the case i have, or will i have to pop it out every time i need to charge it?
how's the read/write speed on the adapters?

??? seems fine. i know it'll be faster than using wifi explorer app or dropbox, so it's good enough for me.
i just offloaded some pics from an sd card. havent used em much yet.
just tested the usb one to make sure it recognized the drive, i didnt copy anything over yet.
Hello friends, I will finally buy the device next month, I bought the Desktop Audio Dock, and the Extended battery with cover, and **** they made very nice, very good quality, didn't expect that from Samsnug
I don't think of buying the HDMI Dock, as it limited to videos and photos, fix me if I'm wrong, and it work with some apps?!
I don't need the Car Dock, as I don't drive, and have no driving license.
For case, I will get the SGP Crumena, think in brown.
As for other accessories, I think to buy OTG adapter, just in case I want to try that option in future, and MHL adapter, again just in case to have it handy, and it's not limited to what it show with HDMI.
For hands-free, I will use the standard one, that come with the phone, maybe will search for one with controls for music.
What else can you recommend ?
As far as OEM accessories looks like you got it covered

To bad that even otg and mhl adapters cost too much..will try eBay then..
The main idea to buy from Expansis, was, that on eBay the Dock cost too much, and the extended battery could be fake..as for MHL and OTG, there many of them on eBay
I just thought I would pass this on to everyone.
I have found a Samsung Desktop cradle that Does work with the 10.1 note 2014 edition.
The tablet recognizes that it is docked. Does not work with a gel skin on the tablet unless you modify the tab skin, which is what I did.
All I needed to do was to cut the charger port opening in the skin a little larger then then stock. Now I can charge the tab with my skin on it.

NewEgg sells the dock to but they did not have a picture of it so I linked staples since they show a picture
Reputable sites are describing this as 5 pin. I see amazon says 11...
Staples, themselves, say 5.
Do you know which it really is?
I cant say for sure, I can tell if the port has 5 or 11 pins but Since Amazon is the only place saying its 11 pin, Im betting its a 5 pin. You can always call Samsung and ask cust service or tech support.
If its the Ee-d100 its recommended by Samsung to work with the 2014.
