Alright, so I searched here and didn't find much, same on google.... I'm not so good i think. But I was wondering what do I do in the situation of :'chmod' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. I don't know what to do and google isn't God in this situation. All help is appreciated.
EDIT: I'm using windows vista, and I discovered Cygwin, is that okay to install or will it screw something up?
EDIT: Nevermind everyone I have became good and solved my problem.

I haved the same problem, need help
have the same problem
do you solve your pb help me plz
I just had the same issue and found the fix for me, may work for you too
I searched "My Device" using a file explorer and found no instances of boot.exe on the device
Using a registry editor (I use Resco Registry Editor) I searched the registry for any instances of boot.exe
I found 2 instances that were both associated with one program (ClearTemp)
I uninstalled that program, soft reset and the issue was resolved.
I was then able to reinstall and everything worked as advertised.
Hope this is helpful,
J

ive done alot of research about this, im pretty sure its not usb brick, since i can access my files from computer, i just have to manually go to computer and open my sd card. ive tried removing the cdrom.iso from verizon, but that hasnt helped any, it just renamed a random disc drive on my phone (which i dont know where it came from). is anyone else having this problem? many thanks!
First off I would like to say that I am a moron for writing fint instead of find.
I am trying to restore my phone to stock and also transfer all of my SD card data to my PC. I can not for the life of my find the option to use my phone as a drive in CM7. I thought I looked everywhere but I am sure that one of the many geniuses that reside in these forums can help me out. Thank you in advance for your help. I really appreciate it!

It should be in the notification bar; just drag it down. Otherwise, it should show up every time, you plug in your phone to your computer. It gives you the option to mount the card as a drive.
I've searched for quite a while and can't find a thread on this, think I've managed to find a fairly unique problem!
Following a recent screen replacement (entirely successful apart from the following problem!!), my DHD is not recognising my SD card. I've tried a factory reset and fixing the permissions through CWM recovery.
I have also tried the SD card in another DHD which recognised it no problem.
I know that this could be a hardware issue due to my fumbling around, but there are several other small glitches that make me think that my rom might be the problem, so I'm wondering if there's a way of flashing a new rom without using the SD card?
Anyone who could provide me with instructions for doing this would be much appreciated!!
Thanks in advance.
Using a file manager, look in /mnt/
Do you see anything in there? i.e /sdcard?
If not then I'd say it was hardware, If you can try another SDCard in it, give that a whirl.
AFAIK, even if you run a RUU~.exe to restore you still need a SDCard as that transfers the rom.zip/PD98IMG.zip to your SDCard.
Not trying to teach you to suck eggs, but have you checked the contacts on the handset? Dirty/Obstruction/etc....
Suggestions,
1). Another SDCard
2). Finding a suitable RUU for your device & running (Search the DHD Dev forums for the RUUs).
Ok i've had a look in Astro.
Firstly I get a little error message saying "Error creating external cache".
Looking in /mnt, there are 4 folders: /asec /obb, /sdcard and /secure
All of these folders are empty according to Astro. If I attempt to create a new folder within any of them I get an error message.
Have turned up a new issue too - the usb connection is intermittent. It will sometimes give me the option to choose the connection type, but at other times it will just charge the phone. I've made sure I'm using the correct cable (i.e. one that is capable of data transfer - not just a charger!)
Have also tried someone else's sd card from their phone that I know is working and no joy.
Thanks for the suggestion about contacts, I hadn't thought of checking that to be honest. I seem to remember reading somewhere that the phone will not access the sd card if the bottom cover is not on properly (the contacts are not seated correctly?) - is this something I should check or have I made it up? I'll have a look at the sd card slot this weekend and make sure nothing is causing problems.
Will also do some research into RUU.
Thanks again for your response, much appreciated!
Problem solved! Seems it was to do with the back covers not being properly aligned.
Phew! Thanks for the suggestions.
?

..?
Hi guys,
I really need your help on this one.
I have searched the forums and the web for a full day now and it seems that I am not alone with my problem here:
Last night I used Solid Explorer to create a subfolder with pictures within the Camera folder. I then tried to move that folder somewhere else on the "SD Card".
But when the process was finished, the subfolder was empty and all the pictures were gone. I could still see the thumbnails in the Camera folder, but when I tried to open one of them, they also all just disappeared!
Now I have read several threads here on xda about the problems of file recovery on a MTP device... Seems like normal file recovery programs will not be of any help in this case.
However I was hoping, that by now someone came up with a solution to this problem, since it affects all users of the GNex.
Some more infos on my side:
The phone runs 4.0.4, is not rooted and not unlocked - everything is stock.
Data back up via Google Plus and Dropbox was not possible, since I am on holidays in Asia with no data plan or WiFi available.
I have switched the phone to flight mode and (hopefully) not written any new data on the storage.
So my questions would be the following:
1) Has anybody yet found a way to asign a physical drive letter to the GNex, making it possible to be recognized by regular file recovery software?
Or is anybody currrently looking into that matter, trying to find a solution?
2) In case that I will not be able to recover the pictures myself through some pc software off the net, will I be able to let some professional have my files restored for me? If I understand correctly, all it takes is a software, that is able to recognize a ext3 or ext4 storage system???
I would really appreciate any help on this matter, because these pictures mean a lot to me and I really hope that I will be able to get them back somehow.
Thanks in advance,
Patrick.
Edit: Argh! First post and I got it wrong already! Sorry, I meant to post this in the Q/A section but ended up posting it in General :-/
I had to format my sd card losing 13GB of information yesterday. This was also due to stupid mtp. Sorry i doubt you can recover.
Sorry to hear that! Until now I could never understand the objections many people seemed to have concerning MTP, as it handled pretty much the same as an USB device when using a Windows PC. But now that I gained some insight in the matter, it's probably the ONE thing I don't like about this phone.
It just sucks to find that out the hard way...
But maybe somebody else still has an idea and can point me in the right direction?
I've had the same problem, and I'm blaming MTP as well. I finally gave up, formatted my drive and replaced MTP with cloud services or transferring files via adb.
