[Q] nandroid

Hi, is it necessary or recomanded to do a full wipe before restore a rom with clockworkMod??
Yes, full factory wipe and cache and don't forget the Dalvik-Cache in advanced settings. D-C wipe might be overkill but once in a while I see Market issues and wiping Dalvik-Cache should help prevent them.
Necessary, because if you do the restore of the nandroid backup of Coredroid on MIUI ( exemple ) you going to have some issues
thanks, loud and clear

Full Wipe
You should have done a full wipe (Wipe cache, Wipe Data/Factory Reset, Wipe Dalvik Cache) and formatted data, cache and system in mount and storage via CWM before restoring the back up restore of ice bean.

Factory reset = Wipe cache + Wipe data
So, basically, you need to do factory reset, wipe dalvik cache, format system and then restore the backup.

Does cwm data wipe also clear internal sd?

Rooted n7100 with cwm installed. Am contemplating on trying some custom roms, but installing new roms usually require wiping data. If I wipe data does it also wipe the nandroid backup I created in the internal sd? Thanks.

No, it doesn`t mate, only mostly user data. When installing a different rom wipe cache and dalvik cache, wipe data and format system. When upgrading to a newer version of the same rom usualy only wipe cache and dalvik cache unless it is a major upgrade.
Thank you very much.

[Q] Do i have to wipe cache/dalvik cache before install new kernel?

In my case, I always wipe data/cache/dalvik cache before install new Custom ROM.
Then, Do i have to wipe cache/dalvik cache before install new kernel?(not DATA)
its a good idea to wipe cache
you dont have to, but you might run into problems if you dont.

full wipe?

when I flash a new rom I format system, wipe cache, and wipe dalvik. my question is does that completely wipe your entire phone? if not, how would you go about doing it? or is it not necessary? would flashing the stock kdz and then start over with the root and cwm installation be the best way?
