Hi, my physical keyboard opens up shortcuts when I press letters, like when I press e, it opens up my email. How do I stop my phyiscal keyboard from launching stuff when I press random letters?
Settings->Applications->Quicklaunch and disable the buttons

Hi,
Has anyone managed to find a way to get the i780 to be able to select text without touching the screen?
I cant hold my shift key and scrub my optical DPAD and select text, and the only way i can select text is by tapping on the screen which is highly infuriating!
What do you guys do?

Yes. Heres the trick.
while in the texting window,
1. turn ON 780 cursor
2. double press the UP arrow key on the keyboard (the uppercase key)
3. numeric keypad now controls the cursor as 780curson is on, press the 4 and 6 keys and observe that the test is being selected
Is there a way to remove the configuration button from samsung's keyboard?
I like this keyboard, but I keep hitting it by accident. It should be better another button that doesnt change the screen, something like other input button as comma for example.
Is it possible or just changing keyboards?
HAH! I've configured my keyboard more times than I've hit space!
It's missing from any user input including hardware keyboard?
Press symbols button then on lower left you will see a right showing button, press it as it will show the 2nd page of symbols.
When the physical keyboard is enabled and I press and hold a key, like ‘c’, there’s a pop-up with some other characters I can choose from. It’s awkward to have to touch the screen to choose the character when my fingers are on the physical keyboard so it would be great if I could, after the pop-up, travel between the characters with the TAB key and select one with the ENTER key.
Anyone finds this useful?
constantly running into this problem..

Hi,
im using the i927 with OsiMood-Rom.
Today its the second time, that my hardware keyboard behaves a bit strange:
- When I press "e" the Email App opens
- When I press "b" the browser opens
First time I got it "repaired" with a reboot, for now a re-open of the keyboard helped.
What is going on there?
That is not a weird behaviour but a feature. It's called "Quick Launch" and is started by pressing and holding the search button on hw keyboard plus any key in the hw keyboard. the "E" key is the default for email (press "Search" + "E" = Email), you can modify this in settings > applications > quick launch
Thanks, I mentioned that it's something like this but I didn't know what other button activates the shortcut or where to disable it

Like me, you might be using the "Search" button (either soft/hardware keys) to launch apps a lot.....most of the time, I end up pressing search plus the first character of an app i want to launch that results in pressing the two keys almost at the same time. That is how I accidentally discovered it....
I was like searching the "Email app" then I accidentally pressed the "E" key while the "Search" key is pressed then I went "How did this thing know that I want to launch Email?"
Press your search key again on your keyboard it is stuck. Happened to me once or twice. Quick launch is launching your short cuts that are programmed because it thinks you are hitting a 2 key combination. (Search and E)
