does anyone know how to fix mms size from 300k to 1000k in desire z with sense ui? Thanks
Change an xml file and reboot. I think its in
/data/data/com.android.mms(somethingsomething)/sharedpref/
The xml file will say something like mms customize i believe. You can change the string to allow for a higher max

Hey guys, is their anyway to get around the 600KB picture limit when sending MMS's? I have HTC Tilt 2 with AT&T and I have no clue how to make my pictures smaller. I read on this forum that there is a way to compress it while sending however when I'm in the MMS screen and I hit "Menu" there is no option for me to compress the picture. Is their a cab out there that changes the KB limit for picture messages?
the limits are actually controlled by the carrier. you can set the size in the registry to send anything, but if it exceeds the maximum allowed by the carrier the MMS will be rejected. When you add an image to your new MMS if the size exceeds the set limit it will ask you to compress, on that screen you choose the size you want to compress it to and from the right soft key menu choose compress and it should compress it to the chosen size and allow you to send it.
Thank you so much! I actually figured it out, your right it is in the screen where you can compress it. Thanks!
How did you compress them. I have the same problem and for me to be able to send pictures i have to change the setting of the camera before i take the picture from 3m to 2m so it can be sent out

When you select a Pic to send it will tell you it is too big, if you hit menu you will see compress and select that. Ohhh wait this was posted 2 posts up....guess I should have read the thread
another alternative
Some carriers dont restrict to small sizes. I have sent as big as a meg on Rogers. I use arcsoft mms creator (look for Romeos cab) and then use Raisaks 3 meg mms limit extender cab. It does all the registry edits for you. They are both fromt he Kaiser forum but work well on the TP2. You will have to set your mms server info but the instructions are where you get the cab to edit size.
Does anyone know how to change font size? I can't seem to figure it out or find an answer.

in the 7 weeks i've used my Mozart, i have not found a way to change the font size, except for zoom-in and -out with email, web pages, etc. i would really like to increase the font size of the text message app. its one of the few frustrating things i don't like with WP7.
aslo here very frustrating that you can't change the font size
I would presume, currently, it is not possible. The UI has been locked down a lot to provide the same polished user experience to all users, allowing users to change the font size could result in a few quirks with the UI, i.e. text not fitting correctly.
hi!
is there any fix or something to remove special characters from sms?
im from Portugal and for example the word "já" if i type it with the accent in the "a" it ocupies 90 charecters from the 160 sms limit.. but if i type the word "ja" without the accent in the "a" it only occupies 2 characters.. what a weird bug..
im using cm7 with go sms and swift kb..
is there any way to skip the accents special characters etc?
for example if i write the word "não" it automatically changes to "nao" to skip the chars..
thanks all

yes there is. you need to use htc_ime mod. it is an improved version of stock htc keyboard.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=663608
read this post, so u will know what to do
it installs as a regular apk.
other options are:
-3rd party SMS application with that option
or
-if you use swype then you would have to find a ASCII version
thanks.. isto use swift and i love it.. dont want to get back to htc ime mod :x
well i will search for more info.. in last option i have to go backup to htc ime. :x

I was hoping someone here would know this, I just can't seem to find it. I am trying to make a custom Gingerbread keyboard, I know how to do HTC_IMEs, but am having a little bit of a harder time. I am trying to figure out how to change the color of the letters (i.e., Q W E R T Y, etc) on the keyboard, but haven't had any luck. I have read where I should be looking into XML files, but can't find the one I must be looking for. Any help?
Have you checked out the online HTC IME keyboard kitchen? When using that it allows you to change letter color.

Ok, so my main reason is to change my carrier's name to whatever I want and display it on upper left or right part of our screen like on make it mine for iPhone..
I found this app http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=901865 but it only shown on the lock screen..
There is a way but it requires some know-how. You have to edit the eri.xml in the framework-res.apk.
