anyone out there try the LiveView with the vibrant yet, and if so, how do you like it? I'm thinking about getting one, looks like a cool little toy, but i've herd some negatives about connetion issues (yes i know they just recent released a fireware update to help that) but still unsure if it's worth it.
Thanks in advance!
well i just got it, and it's pretty bomb in case any of u 203 visitors wanted to know lol
What is it?

Its a bluetooth connected display that you wear on your wrist. It will give you a lot of information at a glance. I guess it would be great for someone who hates pulling their phone out all the time, or someone who uses a belt clip or armband case.

Neat concept, but the review I saw showed major problems. I'd like to see another in-depth review, post-update.

they put out an update for the software that makes it pretty usefull. there is also a hack with tasker to help it connect when it disconnects.
it does disconnect sometimes, but for the most part it works really well. If you are on xda and hack your phone then you know the software isn't always perfect and if you have delt with roms that arn't quit ready for daily driver you know the feeling and it isn't that bad.
I'm loving this so far, and want more people to get it so that more people would devolop plugins for it.
it is coming to the US soon, or u can get it on ebay for about 70 bucks! get it now before they get to the us and become hot and the price on ebay skyrockets!

A little something for retro gamers (or just gamers) amongst us:

...and now N64oid updated to 2.4 for bluetooth multiplayer support!

Nice video.
I've already pre-ordered mine. Hopefully it will come soon enough.
Talking to Martin at Phonejoy it should be very soon!
i liked this concept, but it would have been a 'yes' from me, if only they incorporated a keyboard style controller, which we could attach to our s2 ;(
I got an email from the makers just a couple of minutes ago to say they are making one just like that (similar to the iControlPad, one that the phone sits within). Its presently in the design stages.
Wanna have one

Hope 2 see it soon ;-)
I already thought of making my own construction.
Clove have a pre-order going on these now, they need 50 orders by the 15th of August to go ahead (no idea how many they currently have). If you are keen its worth looking into.

Disappointing. So the 'Analog' sticks aren't Analog after all, hence running everywhere in Mario and the sniper issues you mention. Pretty pointless upgrade from the original then no?
Or is it that the emulators are just not programmed to understand the analog instructions?

£47?
Other than not needing a custom rom, how is this any better than using a proper ps3 controller?

Err, is it possible to get ps3 controllers working with a custom rom then? excuse my ignorance..

It'll work with any HID supporting device - which at the moment is a lot more devices that you'll find with PS3 support.
True PS3 support is starting to get out there though - if you're on CM7 or MIUI you should be able to use a PS3 remote right now, since there is a software out that can do it (forget the name, search for sixaxis in the Market brings it up).

If you have a custom ROM with a normal bluetooth stack, yes. There is a sixaxis app in the market for a couple of dollars IIRC, there's also a free app to make sure it'd work before you buy it.

Yeah that's a big plus for me at the moment I guess - I'm now rooted but I'm happy with stock (and don't fancy playing with buggy nightlies again).
It just struck me as a little pricey for something that sounded very cheapo (maybe it was just the recording). My Datel retro controller only cost £17ish - although that's as limited as a PS3 controller with regards to bluetooth, sadly.
Do we have MIUI for SGS2? I might look into that...
In hindsight, I think I'm gonna try and get one of these - there's a crappy dilemma with the PS3 controller:
- Put custom ROM on, allow PS3 controller to work with 'normal' BT stack, sacrifice TV-Out via MHL/HDMI
- Stay stock, retain TV-Out but obviously unable to use PS3 controller.
Seems Clove decided not to stock them though, that sucks.
Ive ordered one from the phonejoy website. I was using CM7 before to play with my ps3/wiimote controller, but I need my TV out too. So back to a rom which allow my TV out and buying that controller.
I was going to go with an Icontrolpad, but its at least X2 more expensive than this one... Gonne give a review when ill get it, it should take +-1-2 months... that suck haha

Yep, the TV Out is an important aspect for me, and part of the reason I'll be sticking with the Phonejoy for now at least.
iControlPad is just plain worse for use with TV Out, while it is better for portability the price seems pretty unrealistic to me. Phonejoy have been developing a similar control pad to the iControlPad style, no ETA on availability etc, but its in the works.
Incidentally, the latest Jirioni Arcade update is compatible with the MAME4ALL ROM set, pretty good with this set up!

And why icontrolpad is worse for tv out? You dont need to have the cellphone right to it, so icontrolpad or phonejoy will do the same thing in the end. I know icontrolpad can have some claw to hold the cellphone, but theyre not needed to use it.
some Phonejoys are appearing on ebay UK now.. i got mine for like £41.00, cheaper that his website and shipped from the uk
I'm really quite impressed with it, love using the sticks in games like Syphon Filter. So good using TV out on a big screen, my phone is now basically a super portable multi-console. love it
Reason the iControlPad is worse is that its a worse controller configuration for emulating systems like the PSX/N64, if you're tethered to the TV then its mobility advantage is irrelevant.
I was initially intending to purchase Sony's Smartwatch, but am concerned by it's compatibility with the One X - does anyone here own both products?
Upon further research and am now thinking this may be a better alternative: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/597507018/pebble-e-paper-watch-for-iphone-and-android/
What do you think?
I'm a backer.
Think that thing is going to be amazing...

cool, hopefully out for my birthday in Oct, looks awesome
Personally, if I was going to get a "watch" for my phone, I would go for this:

I want this too, but there's no guarantee on the release date. Last time this company did a kickstarter it took them almost a year to produce and ship the device. More info on the on the phonedog website.
looks really cool

Tempted to get one of these
Let's wait
This one is VERY expensive!!!
I think I'm going to wait for the Pebble smartwatch as an ultimatum, and if something worthy comes out in the meantime, I'll get it.
The sony smartwatch DOES work just fine with the HTC One X, but it does not support email notification for HTC's email app as each vendor makes their own email app. I am sure at some point someone will come up with an HTC compatible notifier as it has an open API. Someone has written one for Gmail.
motoactv
i use a motoactvhttps://motoactv.com/ this the best option if your the sporty type its the only one that has gps and it link up to hart rate, speed and step sensors as well as your phone. it also has 8 or 16 gig for music.
You guys havent come across this one yet ...
HAVE YOU

Hev you read the OP?
I know every technology needs it's first users... But isn't this a little soon for that type of things ?
My points are :
- My new One X with a quadcore, a camera,etc... will be thinner than my watch
- Having to reload it every night or so will be a pain
- It's ridiculously expensive
- What will it bring ? If you see you have a mail or a SMS, you'll check it on the large beautiful screen of your phone
(BUT, if they were less expesive, I'd definitively buy one of thoose )
Yep I ordered the Pebble, I know people with the Sony Smartwatch and the imWatch, which are ust too big and need frequent charging. The Pebble is most importantly a watch with other functions secondary.
I just bought the Sony ericsson LiveView watch.
What a crap! Don't buy.. Loosing connection intermitently..
Perhaps im not using SE phone, that's why..

LiveView's the old version? Do you mean the smart watch?
There are no intermittent connection issues with the Smartwatch. The original Live View watch DID have lots of connection problems even with Sony Ericsson phones!
just put an order in for the sony smart watch
stay away from Sony Liveview. Tons of problems...
Hey guys. Got my Note 10.1 yesterday, and now it's time to buy some stuff for it!
I'm looking for more then one item, that's why I made a new tread.
What I'm looking for is:
1) A case - I think I'm going for a book case, that works like a stand for movies.
2) Game controll - i know that the bluetooth ps3 is a great one, but what are my options? mostely gonna play Android games, but emulators to!
3) a keyboard - like the official one, but it's a bit expensive. What's your thoughts? A keyboard case would be the best, that is attached to the note.
Well, give me as many tips as you want to

Saw it and bought it! Its way wonder how long it will take to get it to sweden
I see there's some ROMs on here, do they help keep the watch somewhat current? Would you buy a refurbished version? I see it's a lot cheaper now than it used to be, still a good smart watch to own?
I can recommend it

Hi,
I bought a refurbished Version for ~160€ just one week ago.
I was able to choose, which wristband I like to wear - the price was the same.
The watch uses AndroidWear 2.0
The functionality is still pretty good and the opportunity to root the device is a "nice-to-have"
There are still many apps and possibilities you can do with this watch.
It also looks and feels pretty cool!
Overall, I would recommend buying one - even refurbished.
This is my first SmartWatch and I am very happy with my decision.
I hope I could help you!
:highfive:
