[Q] Creating EXT3 partition on SLCD Desire

Hi, does anyone have a working method for creating ext3 partition on SD card for app2sd on SLCD Desire? The following methods do not work for one reason or another on mine SLCD Desire with 0.83Hboot and 2.5.0.1. modified Clockwork recovery:
1. Via Rom Manager .. does not work because installing the standard Clockwork recovery is required for this and that one just "turns off" your screen.
2. Via Amon Ra recovery .. because it does not support the SLCD Desire AFAIK
3. Via ADB console .. I get "Not found" message when trying to run parted
I was wondering, if it is really necessary to perform the partitioning with the SDcard in the phone, I would prefer to use a USB reader and some partitioning software, but I am not able to find a normal description of needed partition specifics (if there are any).
If I understand the requirements correctly, I need to create three separate partitions (to be safe with the roms that use also the swap one) .. FAT32 first, ext3 second and linux-swap third.
Does anyone have an idea how to create these and maybe a tip for a suitable software that can to this (most of the freeware partition managers do not support non-windows filesystems )

I did mine via Rom manager no problems and I have an SLCD. I installed what it said didn't change anything.

Cyanogen App2sd script - huge problems!

Hello xDA,
I'm trying to install/flash the legacy a2s script from Cyanogen to my Cyanogen 7 RC1.0 but without success. I've seen that there are no new files copied into the /sd-ext/ directory so I can't enable data2sd and cache2sd.
The error I get is the following after doing it in the Recovery.
"/sd-ext/userinit.d/11data2sdext-binds: not found
"/sd-ext/userinit.d/10cache2sdext-binds: not found"
Anyone got a solution for me? I would be really grateful for that!
I've got a FAT32+ Ext3 + Linux Swap partition. /sd-ext/ is mounted when I'm doing this.

try to download and install S2E (simple2ext) from market, it's special programm for CM7. works only with ext3

I don't like any app2sd method, I thing the best way to get more space for your apps is get S-OFF and flash CM7 hboot.

Biggest problems in wfs

HEllo today i am going to address biggest problems in wfs
1.low internal memory
2unlocking bootloader
1.for increasing the internal memory of wfs, you
need
1.ubuntu live usb
2.your rooted wfs and usb cable
steps
boot into ubuntu on your pc
connect and mount your phone as disk drive
open g parted partition editor on ubuntu
it will scan your devices
open your device memory card
creat new-partition (preferably ext4 or ntfs)
click on edit -apply all operations
then umount sd card
install app named Link2sd
it will ask for root and then choose your partition type
it will create mount script
after reboot go to link2sd -options-link all newly intalled apps to sdcard
enjoy

And we need this thread why? We already have enough tutorials for all of this, we don't need one more. If people can't search, its their problem.
P.S. We can partition easily on Windows.

[Q] Rem Puzzled??!!

Hello,
i have been and old user but have now registered after long time cause i could not find any answer in rem puzzle rom thread.
My question is I cannot mount sd ext in rem puzzle 3.0, which i had partioned using Recovery method.
I could do it in 2.83 but cannot in 3.0.
i tried link2sd, dark temor a2sd gui, mount2sd, just would not recognise my sd-ext.
also a new problem cropped up, i guess that after i Flashed CronMod-INT2EXT_signed.zip, i cannot go past the htc white screen after flashing rem 3.0 (rem would not boot).
Atleast at first(before Flashing CronMod-INT2EXT_signed.zip) it would take me to rom working properly but now not even that it sits at htc white screen.
also can you guys give me links like turbo boost and others as such which will help me to speed up my willy, cause i am running mini cm7 now cause rem won't install and the problem is (haven't checked with mini cm7 though) after installing apps the rom would slow down.
some details of my willy
Recovery 4.0.1 or 4
radio 3.55 one
using custom mdt with CronMod-INT2EXT_signed.zip in mini cm7.

wipe all, install again and don't mount anything. just go to terminal emulator and type:
su
a2sd cachesd
then phone will reboot
and again
su
a2sd zipalign
After it finishes
a2sd reinstall
and after auto reboot all ur apps are on ext
rem puzzle has included dt scripts.

[Q] can kernel of LG P970 be configured to support loopback

I am trying to install Ubuntu using complete Linux installer. But when running the image file form the sd card , it says kernel does'nt support loopback. Is there any way to solve this ?
