Hi all,
I have upgraded the Market from version 2.3.6 to the new 3.0.26 with no problems on Archos 101.
Very nice! Thanks!
I upgrade it using arctools..
new market is nice!
Hello,
I have a little problem.
The Market just doesnt wants to get installed it say's : Application is not installed.
I deleted all my Google Apps such as Google Talk,Gmail,...
I used gapps4archos to install the market.
The new Market just got "pushed" to my 101.... Got "pushed" to my Inc a few weeks ago.... I really do not like the new layout!!! The good news is that it seems to be running without any issues.

I was wandering how to get the newest Google apps even if they are in beta or testing say like the new market being released with gingerbread?
The new market is out, just do a search. For some of these someone pulls them, and then posts them. That's how I've seen it happen. I'm running Market version 2.2.7 right now.

Is anyone else having issues downloading apps remotely from the newly launched Android Online Market with CM6.1? It may or may not be related to the ROM you're using, I'm just curious.

Android online market?? U mean the one built into the Rom or is there a literal one online now?
Sent from my Incredible using XDA App
I'm having issues. When I login, select an App and then choose install, I get the message 'There are no android phones associated with this account. Please sign in with a different account'.
Not sure if the online Android Market (market.android.com) is unable to detect a device if it's on a rooted / CyanogenMod OS?
I just tested this....Worked just fine. Incredible running 6.1 stable and invisiblek kernel.
Glad to hear it's working for you. Anyone else? I'm still experiencing the same issue(s). If I go to My Market Account on the top right after I login (market.android.com), I can see Orders which shows all of my Apps. When I click the Settings tab, I get 'There are no Android devices associated with this account'.

It just went live today. So cool
I'm also using CM6.1 and it downloaded just fine. Is the account you're signing into the same online and on your phone? (dumb question I know, but just wanted to check )

Yes it is.
Sent from my sexy assistant. (HTC Incredible running cm7)
I am having the same issue - but on a Desire running Oxygen ROM 2.0 (Gingerbread).
There was not post in the desire forums about this, but now it makes me wonder if it might be related to the version of the Market Place that is running on the device? (Old version in this ROM)
I've got an Inc running Cm6.1 with Invisible Kernel.
It recognizes two devices on the account (One presumably being the Droid I previously owned.)
It says it installs, my phone simply never receives the information, I guess.
Are you guys all on the updated market?
I'm on the updated market and it's working for me - if you're not on the latest market, my guess is it's not going to work.
Could also be it's the first day of the new online market, they could still be working out the kinks, I'd give it a couple of days before worrying about it

That's true. I might have to update the market and see if that does the trick.
The only other issue is, like I said, the two devices showing up, even though I only own one device.
I'm using a rooted Desire with HTC Stock-ROM and the web-market doesn't work as well.
As of today, still having the same issue(s). Been seeing this problem all over the web after I do some searches. Seems I'm not alone.
I'm having problems as well.
I am running market version 2.2.7 which i found an APK for around here.
I see my Incredible (and presumably my old Droid too) listed, but it says last accessed on Dec 26 or so.
So it possibly isn't connecting to the market in some way that it needs to be?
I have CM6.1 and i cant access the online market either. i have market version 2.2.1.1
I am also running CM 6.1 and Market version 2.2.11 and I can't get the new web market to work either. I thought it was because I didn't have the latest version of the Market, but I guess that's not it either.
One solution to the "There are no Android devices associated with this account." problem is to remove accounts.db and Market settings: http://hacktheman.org/fixing-android-market-website/
OK here goes ...
I got a Galaxy Nexus on a new plan with Vodafone Australia and passed on my Desire HD to my Mrs.
The G Nexus came with 4.0.1 installed.
I havent rooted the GNex, but the DHD is rooted and running English version of MIUI from miuiandroid.com.
Cut back to yesterday, when I tried to install an app from Market on my GNex. Its called "My Vodafone" and is published by Vodafone Australia. It didnt come up when searched on Market app on my GNex.
Then I tried to search for the app on my wife's DHD. Same thing doesnt show up. She's with Vodafone as well. I know the apps there on Market because ppl have installed it.
Even more surprising is that a friend of mine who is with a different provider (Optus) can see the app in his Market app on his GNex !!!!!!!!!!!
Then I try to get it via the web based market.android.com.
Logged in, searched for the app, but again it says its not compatible.
What could be wrong ?
Is it the phone/ICS/carrier that is causing this to happen ?
Apart from this I am getting turned off by this fragmentated, rugged experience of using Android. ICS was supposed to be more polished than ever !
But sadly, it hasn't lived upto its mark for me..
I have had other issues with the GNex/ICS but this one is the worst one so far.
What can I do to install this and other apps which are showing on my friends GNex, but not on mine
The developer must update the app to show its compatible (in the market) with ICS.
I would pull the .apk with titanium backup from your wifes phone and side load it to your phone.

Its not that straight forward. The app is showing on my friends GNex which also runs on ICS !!!!!!
I have two Acer tablets, an Iconia A100 and Iconia A500. Both came with the Android Market app installed. When the Google Play Store app became available last month, my Acer Iconia A500 tablet automatically installed the new app.
My Acer Iconia A100 still has the Android Market app; it never updated to the Google Play Store app. I have the latest stock operating system (Android 3.2, Build Acer_A100_1.018.05_COM_GEN2). Google tells me that Acer is responsible for pushing the Google Play Store app to the tablet.
Have any of you in the U.S. received an automatic update to the Google Play Store app on your A100? If so, approximately how long ago? I'm fine with keeping the Android Market app, but will it work okay with Ice Cream Sandwich once that's pushed later this month?
Thanks for your assistance!
The only difference I can discern between my "Market" app and the "Play" App is the icon.

Only thing different is the name...on 3.2.1 it will automatically update once you click on the android market icon...the process is less than 10 seconds...maybe you should upgrade to 3.2.1?
Thanks for your responses!

When I go to "About Tablet" and click on "System Update," it tells me "Your device is up to date." How do I get 3.2.1 on my A100? I'm not very Android-savvy beyond the basics and I don't want to mess up the tablet!
The only thing different is the name. You are better off waiting for the ICS update next week then messing with trying to get the 3.2.1 update.

I'm actually fine with the Android Market app. My only concern is if ICS will still be pushed to my A100 around April 27th if I'm currently running 3.2, or will 3.2.1 be required before that will happen?
My Acer Iconia A500 has 3.2.1 and I received an "Iconia Tab Update Enhancement" on that tablet earlier this month (which I understand is for the A500/501 only, in preparation for ICS). Nothing like that has come through on my A100, and I'm wondering if it's because I don't have 3.2.1.
I rather have my icon say Google Market rather that Play. The latter seems a little corny to me.

After starting this thread, I sent an email to Acer. I told them that my A100 has Android 3.2 and the Android Market app, and I asked if it will be necessary to update to 3.2.1 before the 4.0 upgrade next week.
In part, here is their reply:
I have verified your product serial number and found that the unit is covered under the standard limited warranty.
I suggest you to wait for few days as the new version of the operating system would be installed on your system sooner or later.
If you are not getting the new operating system, then you can for sure contact us back again.

Very vague. Well, a few hours after receiving their reply, my Android Market app was updated to Google Play, and I received notification of several app updates. My A100 has not been updated to 3.2.1, however. When I check on the device it still says "Your device is up to date."
The tech support person did not answer my question as to whether it's essential to have 3.2.1 before the tablet can update to 4.0. Does anyone here know? Also, how long ago did you receive the 3.2.1 update? Was it months ago or more recently?
Maybe he doesn't know. The 3.2.1 update is suppose to fix some issues with the headphones (from what I've read). PS: Version 3.2.1 was released quite a while ago.
Thanks for your reply, dansul. I did a Google search and learned that 3.2.1 was sent out to the U.S. in January. I also found some forum posts saying that Build GEN2 (the version I have) didn't get 3.2.1.
I'll just wait and see if 4.0 comes to my A100. If I don't see it by early May then I'll contact Acer.

On my Nexus YouTube was preinstalled.. which rom have you got? Normally you should be able to download youtube from the play store... or maybe it is country-specific?
Jellybean from this link has YouTube preinstalled:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737849
YouTube works fine, what I did:
I COPIED THE YOUTUBE.APK FROM MY BACKUP DATA.TAR AND I INSTALLED IT TO MY NEXUS, IT LOOKS DIFFERENT
Here is the Youtube.apk if someone needs it: http://ge.tt/5sdaPnJ/v/0 <--- I'm using it and it works perfectly..
Still though, it's strange that the Play Store says YouTube is not compatible. I'm hoping this get ironed out soon...I like to convert as many system apps as possible into Play Store user apps. This also means you cannot manage YouTube from the web interface on other devices. Same deal with Google Wallet btw.

This is because you are running an OS that is not yet released. Same problem when ICS first came out. We just need to wait until devs update their apps to support Android 4.1
