[Q] Camera with smile detection / Smile shutter - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all...
Me (Desire HD with ARHD.latest) and she (Galaxy S with DarkyRom.latest) have a litte fight.
On her phone she got "smile-detection" in her camera. I never would say it to her but i am f*****g jealous Probably i am a little DHD fanboy *cough, cough* but it makes me mad that i haven`t this feature.
Is there any way to get it on the DHD? ... because i dont understand. is it software? (if yes ...why are there no others with it?)
or is it in the hardware?

my answer would be: it's in the software
BUT
i think no camera app for DHD is able to detect smiles due to incompatibility of something with something??
Correct me if not true
by the way, you do mean the smile detection like in the movie?

Multitouch not working on Hero

Finally with this Eris leak we can have a stable working 2.1 ROM on the Hero. But I'm terrefied to find that true multitouch does not work on the Hero. I've tried multitouch paint, pong multi touch, Multitouch Vis Test, Multitouch visualizer and they all fail miserably. You can twinch, but that's about it. If you try to cross axis'es with the two fingers the reading get stuck.
I hope this is a driver issue and not a hardware limitation of the Hero, but I suspect it's the latter
Perhaps this is why HTC has delayed the Hero update so many times, they franticaly try to find a fix for this issue.
It is a problem with the HTC sensors and is the same on all HTC phones with touch screens
It is not likely to be fixed ever.
This should be fixable, because it works fine on AOSP 2.1 roms, even on a Hero...
then how come it can't be fixed on the nexus one?
AH I missed that issue, dont know anything about that.
I was talking about the fact that multitouch doesnt seem to work in the current leaked build in Maps. This leads me to believe that they havent implemented the native 2.1 multitouch.
we were talking about the inherent problem with all htc multitouch devices, it works for pinch zoom ok but when you get the "touch axis" too close the phone becomes confused over where your actually touching the screen.
Maybe a hardware problem fixed on HTC Desire? Or HTC Market?
Its very unlikely to get fixed it is just how htc do things. They might change it for the furture but devices already out are stuck like it.
Motorola have it working fine though.

Is true dude.
I think Google underestimated the usefulness of multitouch. It makes the whole mobile phone experience much better. Keyboard works better, games can be more fun etc.
Apple: I'm suing you stealing our patented multitouch functionality.
HTC: No, we didn't. See? Our multitouch doesn't work.

Was the HTC Desire's Multitouch issue ever addressed

I personally experienced this kind of issue on multi touch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MLUmJL_Px0
Does anyone know if this can ever be fixed or would this be a permanent hardware (it says here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=791209 )issue on the Desire?
You pretty much just answered your own question in the last part?
It's a hardware issue so it will of course not be fixed by software

oh well, i was just , maybe, hoping..
thanks anyways!
Supposably they would help me look into it but meh... I just feel like screwing their customer service
Its due to the "Pinch to Zoom" technology that this bug persists. I've read somewhere that HTC Desire, doesn't have multi-touch only 2finger touch ( or something like that ). So you cant adress this, probably someone will fix the impossible like always happens and get a neat solution to this but don't expect it anytime soon. Because if im not wrong fixing this will take out the pinch to zoom feature from our desires.
And for the people who says its impossible, if was impossible to put wm 6.1 on QTEKS200 and someone did it
Double posted by accident*
Funny how DHD works fine with 2 point,
D still failing.

What's funny about that?
The DHD has different hardware(not the Clearpad 2000 of the desire, obviously) It's not failing anything since there was never any official "multitouch" feature - just "pinch to zoom"..
The dudes multitouch in the video aint that bad compared to mine anyway there is a fix for axis flipping somewhere dump where thou

There is a fix for Acer liquid - maybe this would also be a solution for our Desire if some talented Devs look at it? It has the same problems as our Desire but i don't know if it has the same multitouch hardware...?
The man's trying hard.
Gotta give him credits for that.
But I don't think he can fix it just by software ):
Probably reduce it to the minimal ):
Every little improvement is better than what we have now...
I personally would be glad to don't have this axis swapping even if there is a little jump in it. Google maps for example is not useable for now - why didn't they include a single touch solution for devices without multitouch as they have done in earth???
So damn annoying while playing games ........

call recording on ICS

hi
can u tell me if this works on your device?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.porcelli.Monitorpro
i am trying to configure it to work...but i get unreadable files..
(i'm on Elite's ICS V11)
$12 lol... Are you giving donations too? J/k I would hazard a guess that it doesn't work.
From my understanding call recording needs to be supported by the ROM system framework for it to work. It's not something you can just tack on with an app. at least not in a way that would provide satisfactory/understandable audio.
Most application implementations rely on hooking the microphone. problem is with that you don't hear what the person your talking too is saying... Or it is very faint noise (almost unhearable)
Seems like there is a lot of recent positive review though so maybe it does work?
I looked for a way to enable to enable call recording on my phone back on gingerbread. Didn't find anything substantial. A lot of time has passed since then though.
I'm running cm9. Would be nice to see a free implementation built into our ROMs.
I for one would like to see some more constructive comments about this topic. Screen shots from the app look like gingerbread... Although it says rooted ICS supported.

[Q] Nexus live effect on SGS2?

Hi guys, I was looking for a camera that has the features of the Nexus, I mean the live effects; like big eyes, big mouth, however the funny stuff and I couldn't find any so I installed the stock ICS one to see if it works and every time I choose the live effects option, it force closes. I was wondering does anyone here know how to get this to work.

there may be some libs you need to make it work so , but you would need to see what libs that the apk is relying on ...... if any ...

Is there any ROM, trying to keep as original as possible, no user suggestions allowed

Sorry for long title, missing question mark (it didn't fit) and my somewhat limited english.
So, for example lenovo stops upgrade, are there anyone tried to make exact copy (what it could be) of oreo? No other "trinkets" added. I mean not any of those suggestions added, what users asks on the thread. Not a single feature added in the phone menu. So, point me one if there is, please.
That would be a hit, I think. At least I would install one to my dad's phone, this time Nexus because he asks for that (and even mom's phone Lenovo P2), but if the menus are different its a big no. It WILL confuse them. A lot. So bad they want to go back even old version had bugs they cursed.
---------unrelated rant------
Oh, I really don't mean actual fixes, if those are even possible to fix, because I think it is in the hardware. Bluetooth sound from headphones is so awful its unuseable. I have two Lenovo P2's, so I know what I'm talking about. One must be deaf if not hear that. Shamefull. In this time and age, when bluetooth headphones are standard. Sound separation is close to mono. Its so bad, I had to buy wired headphones (Marshall has wire+bt 2in1) Uh, actually I use smiley for that. ...let me see if I find one, that fits..... Here! :cyclops:
Hi, I don't know if I'm allowed to answer but I do it anyway.
I totally get your point but don't understand your consequences from it. If they both upgrade from nougat to oreo, there will be a difference in the menu structure anyway. You just have to keep them the same between the nexus and the p2. So why does it have to be a pure stock rom? why don't you just install the same custom rom, like lineage os, to both phones?
Best regards
