1. Did you hold it down?
2. Do you have fastboot disabled?
3. Try using adb reboot bootloader instead.
Are you hitting vol down when the device is powering up?
You gotta turn fast boot off.
Found in settings, then applications.

When you run AlphaRevX, it gives you a code. Take that code and fill out the form on the AlphaRevX website (the page that shows up after you download AlphaRevX). That'll spit out another serial to enter into AlphaRevX.
For the code , , i dont know the procedure but you have to get a software will give u a code ,then enter in alpharev website or i am not sure . Read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1160511 and

lmfao relax. Hold your volume button down, hold the end key down(the button you hang up the phone with) then push the power button.
When your phone boot you should see a gray screen that say serial, plug your device into the computer and serial should change into usb. Then run the rom and there u go

Doesn't that trigger Ramdump mode (well, I don't know what that means, actually)?
All the OP needs is to go to Bootloader Mode to flash a ROM via USB. Bootloader is easily accessed by: Turn off phone, then press/hold Volume Down + Power button.
thanks guys, ive been using android, and never a minmo device, thanks everyone!!

Sortof. I just tried task29 for the first time a few days ago. I freaked out when I got in the same situation as him, but then read through the thread. There's the option of shutting the phone off, and pressing vol down + power key. I ended up doing vol down + power key + push reset with stylus at the startup screen. Simplest solution for me.
taking off the battery, istnt that simplest?
Amd here is the theme about this

IMO, the smartest thing to do is when Task29 is near 100% (I think it pauses at around 96%), hold down the Volume Down button. That way, when the phone (tries to) reboots, it goes straight to Bootloader.
thanks all you have been more than helpful, ive been using this site for a while (for my android device) but just recently made an account. All of you keep on getting it done!!!

Hey, I have a Touch Pro2 and I tried the key combination above and it didn't work for me. I did get it to work however using the send key (green button) instead of the end key....
I.e, held volume down button, held send key and pressed power key once... ;-)
Phone MUST be off before doing the key combo...
As the title already says,
I'm stuck at an endless boot loop of the HTC logo and the volume down + POWER button doesn't get me into recovery again, like the option gone. So I'm stuck and I can't flash the boot-up FIX image since I can't access Clockworkmod recovery as I really only used this to flash images. Any help would be highly appreciated and it's rather urgent to me.
Thank you.
Turn the phone off
Click in trackpad. Hold
Click on volume down. Hold
Click on power. Hold everything until you see tge white hboot.
Press vol down to RECOVERY
Press power.
Et voila.

For some strange reason that doesn't work either. I will keep on trying your method until someone gives another solution... Well my volume button wasn't always sensitive so I needed to click hard, I will try though. Thank you as for now.

OK, another method:
1. Switch your phone off
2. Keep pressing the Back button
3. Power phone on (Power button) while keeping the Back button pressed
4. Check if "BOOTLOADER" is marked", if not select it by using Volume up/down buttons
5. Press Power button
6. via Volume up/down select "RECOVERY"
7. Press Power again
You are in Recovery and ready to flash / restore / backup etc.
EDIT: if you volume down button is out of function you can "scroll" with the vol. up button as well. If you reached the top of a list, it will jump to the bottom automatically.
Settings> applications> fastboot. Untick.
Power down. Power up+volume down.
Fastboot location might be different though. It is in applications for me.

I had a similar issue, but I wasn't stuck in a bootloop. Couldn't access recovery using vol-down at all, I could access it using ROM Manager, but it loaded the bundled version (3.0.0.5) not the installed one (2.5.1.8). Weirdly enough, selecting 'reboot recovery' in the 'temporary' recovery rebooted me into the installed one
The two posts above fixed it for me though, just unticking 'fastboot' wasn't enough - it just stopped it switching off (it would always reboot immediately!), but holding 'back' while it was rebooting got me into HBOOT.
I did discover that if I pressed and held vol-down while the htc white screen was showing it would start in 'safe-mode' - That was a shock, thought I'd caught Windows
It started right after I installed a new ROM, I don't really understand how that could affect it but I'm going to try a different one now to see if the problem goes away.

Hi, I'm new and also noob, so sorry
I have same or similar problem...
I made update from A2.2 to A2.3.3 official ROM from HTC for HTC Desire and than I found custom ROM with Sense 3.0 - Cool Sensation v7.
I made S-Off and I have HBOOT 6.93.1002 now. Tried to instal custom ROM, everything installed good, but after rebooting system is still in boot-loop and a can not instal boot-fix because I still get error regarding some error about edify...
Some like this:
"amend script(update-script) is no longer supported
amend scripting was depreceated by google and android 1.5
it was neccacery to remove it when upgrading to clockwork mod 3.0 gingerbread based recovery.
please switch to Edify scripting (updater-script and update-binary) to create working update zip packages.
installation aborted."
Can someone help me? Thx.
Hi all
having AlphaRev Oxygen r2,S-Off when I was working with my cell, It was rebooted and after starting up it showed it was in "Safe Mode" . Then , It re-started again , and booted in bootloader, stucked there and none of the function keys(Vol up,Vol down,Return and etc.) are working now.
It's still stucked and no operation is possible(even selecting fastboot, recovery and other functionalities)
I wonder if anyone could help me solve the problem ..
..
any idea?
Can you use fastboot? Try with 'fastboot devices'. If fastboot sees your phone, flash bravo downgrader and return to stock.
SwiftKeyed from Oxygen with Transparent XDA App
..
no i cant go to the fastboot because the power key and volume down wont work.i tried fastboot commander but it didnt find my cellphone.(sorry for my bad english)
...
no one can help me?
Try:
1. Boot phone in recovery.
2. Plug USB cabel; wait 5 - 15 seconds.
3. Run: 'adb devices'
Is there any device?
I have a similar problem to samijn90, except my phone is running Gingerbread and hasn't been rooted yet.
In my case, I tried to restart my phone (which was working quite normally) and found it started in boot mode. The volume key can't select any function, and I have to remove the battery to switch the phone off.
Will be following this thread as well as look around for potential solutions.

In order to go into fastboot you have to press the "Back button" (the one next to search) and power button. I haven't seen a Desire without volume keys issues. I have to try multiple times to press volume down button and the phone to respond.
After you get into fastboot you can try to flash stock or debug your phone.

I have a desire hd which was previously at Android 2.3 Sense 2.1. I used AAHK2 fastboot mode to install custom unlocked hboot. After custom hboot was installed, I downloaded the official update for Sense 3.0 Android 2.3.5. The update downloaded and booted into recovery and it stuck on the recovery. After some time, the stuck still remained so I removed the battery and tried to reboot into bootloader but instead of bootloader, the same recovery opens which is stuck. Please help sorry for my bad english.

Yeah I think I have to give my phone for flashing in local mobile market as the HTC service centres aren't available in my country, Anyways, thank you very much for your support
I tried flashing ViperOneM8 1.8.0 (ViperOneM8 1.7.1 -> 1.8.0) which I guess was the wrong thing (I think that was an update, should have started with 1.7.1 first). Anyway... Now my M8 boots to some type of android base OS without a lot of things...
1) It's not possible to get to settings as there is no settings app in the app drawer.
2) There is no title bar/task bar at the top. The area that holds the time, and a few icons at the top is gone.
3) There is no background.
4) There is no way to get on the WiFi do to #1 and because of this I can not add my google account. That in turn means no google play store access.
But the BIGGEST thing of all... I CAN NOT BOOT TO FASTBOOT!!!
- Power the device off.
- Hold the volume down button (also tried the volume up button) + press power usually boots strait to fastboot mode.
I THINK it has something to do with the fact that by default in the settings I need to untick the fastboot option in the dev options.. Well I can't get to settings. Now what?

Shut down phone.
Turn it on
Hold volume up+power button until it restarts
As soon as you get the black screen for restart release power button and hold volume down.
If your timing is right you will enter bootloader.
I tried it and it definitely works
Flash your nandroid or any rom you know was ok to begin with and you are up and running!!!

Yea, I ended up doing the following...
1) While device is powered on, Press and hold Volume Up + Power until device reboots.
2) When it starts to reboot continue holding the Power button and change to the Volume Down.
That worked for me.
