Hi, my friend wants metoo get internet working on their metro incredible. All I know is they know nothing about rooting and I know nothing about metro. I personally dont know If u have to root the incredible to make it work on metro or if u just bring it in and they set it up but I know they didn't root it themselves. Anyways they say they can do everything but get internet to work. So I was wondering if there is a guide on how to get internet. I did a google search but everything seems old. So if someone could point metoo a current guide that would be nice.

If you are running CM6 or later I think I have read the native Hot spot feature is free. Is this true? I can't get wifi tether from the market to work with any success.
Thanks
dont use the market one, go to dev website that makes it and download the newest beta
linky http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/downloads/list?can=2&q=Evo
Ok I downloaded the newest beta.. still can't get it to go over like .8kb up and .1 down.. any suggestions?
Just use the one built in to CM6. Settings>Wireless>Tethering
I have a question is the market app bad ? Is there away to trace it or for sprint to find out ?

Wireless Tether usually works well on our phones. Sprint can easily find out if they wanted too but I highly doubt they will bother checking unless you start using ridiculous amounts of bandwidth.
Just be careful when flashing radios or your hboot and you should be fine. those are the main ones you need to worry about.
I also updated to nighties 129 which should have fixed the apn problem but im still having the same problem im running CM 7.1 Latest build on G2. SIMPLE MOBILE.
im going crazy guys. my gf wants to send me pics and other want to send me pics too and i cant
i also check the APN i got two simple/t mobile. simple mobile one works fine for web and stuff but when it comes to MMS its not working please help me
thank you.
Would it hurt to call your provider and make sure everything is provisioned on their side?
Never understood why people here don't bother with that. Not like you have to tell em you're rooted or using custom roms. Just make sure its not on their end first so to avoid waisting a bunch of time on something they need to fix...ya know?

thanks ill try because many people are experiencing the same problem.
I am new to this whole rooting thing and looking for a little advise. Is there any database to see what each rom is capable of?
My main reason for rooting my evo 4g is to fix voice search app that hasnt worked sense the gb update. i would also need the ability to use 4g and hotspot. What Rom is good for me?
Any help would be very appreciated!!
I use MIUI. Its awesome. You can get it in rom manager but the new update will be out tomorrow evening. Try it out and see for yourself.

So I have a rooted epic 4g with cm9. I bought it used and is already fully flashed for metropcs. The guy I got it from was using metro with internet and mms unlocked already. So I take it home and call metro to switch my service over from my super nice admire ._. And I had no problems with the esn or anything. I got as far as the programming step and when I enter ##000000# and/or the other ##468xxx# number they told me to, to program it but no edit option popped up. I assume its because its a rooted device. Any help on this would be great as they switched me half way, so neither of my phones are activated now ._. Anyone know how to get to that edit option after entering those numbers on cm9? Prease and fank yoo
