[Q] Latest HTC Desire HD software version UK?

Could someone please clarify what is the latest HTC Desire HD software version for the UK please?
I have recently bought a HTC Desire HD a few days ago and the version on my brand new sim free DHD is 1.32.405.6 with no updates showing when attempting to search for an update via OTA.
Thing is I notice talk of a 1.72 build on this forum and was wondering have other DHD owners in the UK had this update yet or what exactly is the situation with newer software in the UK?
Also theres some other talk of this newer version being pulled? Just really trying to clarify what exactly is happening as I have read in the newer build battery life on the DHD has improved and this would be very welcome as with any other enhancements.

1.72 was removed by HTC as it seemed to be having some issues, especially with SD cards, the battery life improvements are down to the newer radio which can be found here, a quick caution newer OTA upgrades patch the exploit that is used to gain root so if you anticipate wanting to root your DHD and flash customs roms best to avoid them.

Thanks very much for clarifying, I was wondering why there was no update showing as people on here were talking about 1.72 and I have 1.32 with no updates showing.
I have rooted my DHD with visionary only to get Screen shot working and have done S-OFF only to get Adfree working.
I have got Rom Manager installed with Clockworkmod but haven't installed any custom roms as this is a brand new phone for me and to be honest I'm happy with the stock look of the phone. I only rooted and got S-OFF to get the two above things working. So basically when this 1.72 does come the root will be taken away I see.

[Q] Upgrade Wildfire to Gingerbread

Hello
I want to hear about anyone who can help me how to gingerbread on a Wilfire?
Really hope someone can help.
There is no official way by HTC.
However you can try to root your phone if you haven't upgraded to 2.2.1.
IF you have you need to get it S-OFF with the XTC clip
There Will be not an officially upgrade to gingerbread for our buzz.
So i use cyano 7

[Q] Help! Audio problem after upgrading to official 2.3 gingerbread DHD

Hello guys I am new one here!
I 've upgraded my HTC DHD from froyo to 2.36.405.8 gingerbread official edition
after a message that I received yesterday after checking the update status for the firmware.
The problem is that after installing the update, all sounds seem to be distorted (squeking sound even at low level). The problem occurs both on the main speaker and the loudspeaker.
Needless to say that before the upgrade the quality of the sound of my DHD was OK( so I have to guess that is a problem related with the upgrade).
Does anybody have a simillar issue after updating to 2.3 gingerbread?
Is there anyway to go back to the stock 2.2 froyo edition?
(Btw my phone is unbranded)

Yep, Search "downgrade" and click second result
Hm, maybe you could go back to Froyo if you downgrade FW?
There are tutorials here on XDA
Thanks I will look on the guides on how to downgrade
(I thought that the guides were only about downgrading to a point that you could root your phone...)
Still I'm just wondering if anyone else has the same problem..

While you are waiting for a reply here (unfortunately I don't know the answer) you could try sending an email to HTC.
They may will be able to help you
HTC rolls out the OTA update region by region, with exception to some countries. 1st, by following above suggestion, do check your region whether they have launched the OTA update. 2nd, if you do want to update, at least turn the ENG S-OFF, as latest 2.50 is not rootable or downgradable (this way you can revert to older builds).

Got it, country is Norway....
Good news for you, HTC just now begins to roll out 2.50.405.2 update to unbranded DHD in Europe, fixing the previous build wifi issues. [AndroidCentral]

I did send an email to HTC quite awhile ago, at first I thought the phone originated in hong kong. But after sending HTC the serial number of the phone they told me it originated from India. As far as i'm aware people from both India and Hong Kong have received this update already and HTC told me that I should receive the update based on where the phone originated from and yet I still have no update.

GPS issue after upgrade to 1.28

Hi friends,
I'm in Australia and I ordered a One X From expansys.com.au
Phone is great, but after the OTA update to 1.28 my GPS is now too jumpy to use for navigation.
I have the European version of the firmware.
I've had this problem on my HTC sensation before, and adjusting the boot.conf file, and the GPS confg files (can't remember where they are now) fixed the problem.
As there is no s-off yet I can't change these files. Is anybody else having these sort of problems? Anyone in Australia have a HOX from overseas running the 1.28 OTA?

I have same issues with 1.28 and 1.29.
See this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1599057
I didn't find a solution yet.
