[Q] Gentle alarm on S2?? - Galaxy S II Themes and Apps

Hey
I read quite a lot about the Gentle Alarm and the sleep pattern tracing. My android market shows not compatible with the S2. Is that the case???? Any alternative???

I use gentlealarm with my s2 No problems since now
from my SGS II running MIUI 2.3.3

I have been using (PAID) gentle alarm on both my galaxy and galaxy II without any problems. Currently on Villain Rom 1.4

Gentle Alarm
Gentle Alarm works great on my S2, I have used it on different ROM's and have had no problems at all and it's never failed to wake me up in the morning.

[Q] Kernel that is superfast

Hey guys, just rooted my galaxy nexus .. running AOKP maguro build 29 ... just wanted to know if there is a kernel that will make the phone superfast... it still lags at some point... has some scrolling issues... doesnt matter about the battery consumption as long as the phone can be fast with no lags... thank you guys
Try out Popcorn Kernel with Gallimaufry Governor. I'm on CDMA Nexus but the developer made this kernel for GSM Nexus as well. The tweaked governor makes the phone fly lol
franco kernel nightly r121, r133
Leankernel, I'm running 3.1.0 now but 3.2.0 just dropped
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
You're going to find a different answer with a different kernel for every person.
Make a backup and start flashing. Play with governors, OC and UV until you find one you like with acceptable battery life.

Change your launcher, Apex is super smooth. Some apps will also make the app drawer lag, there is an app that lets you see the status bar inside any fullscreen app that makes the launcher lag and Screen Filter does as well. I think a lot of it is down to optimisation issues.
Popcorn for me, with stock 4.0.4 rom
you can not go wrong with GLaDOS Kernel
Thanks guys!!
just downloaded popcorn kernel.... I must say... really impressed with the performance... i will try this out for a day... and try the other ones after... thank you for all your help guys

Franco's kernel nightly r130-512
rare to see someone complain of lag in gs-nexus ..
I'm about to purchase one (moving from original galaxy S) & I hate this word "lag" to death!!
soo.. Do I need to change my mind about gs-nexus? all I want is "smooth" especially on heavy usage

I have seen how my friend's Galaxy S (i9000) laged.... Quite badly I would say. Used to lag even after factory resetting the phone. Nexus on the other hand doesn't lag like that. However, animations, transitions at times lag and don't always appear smooth. Custom kernel helps a lot on this smoothness issue.
As for the Galaxy S, if you are running an AOSP rom, install this script,

It will totally help out the lag on the Galaxy S. Try it.

Galaxy nexus slow after 4 days!

Hello,
Have since Saturday, the Galaxy nexus.
Even the first 5 minutes ham amazes me how fast the unit runs compared to my old sensation XL. By and by came a few apps on it as GTA 3 or Pes 12th. Everything went on great!
However, yesterday I installed a keyboard from xda devs named HTC_ive or something like that, since it seems so as if the device is slower. Have now been deleted but the keyboard still has the device extremely slow in comparison to earlier .. the soft keys react more slowly and in writing and must hit a bit of proof d press the keys, it seems to me at least. If I make even a complete reboot -> do not think however that it takes a lot ..
Here again is a list of exceptional Apps that I have installed currently:
Light flow (change LED color)
nfl 2012
gta 3
pes 12
Sense widgets (but not used)
six guns
flashlight
quick app manger (to empty the cache)
these apps are exceptions that could perhaps be due.
I always empty my task manager and my wallpaper is currently the standart live wallpaper, maybe that's it. However, it has also not originally
wiggled.
PLEASE HELP ME! Can not be that Samsung has a built-in weak processor?
Currently runs on Android 4.0.4

SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLISH!

Swyped on my Galaxy Nexus running AOKP with Franco Kernel, overclocked to 1.4GHz

[Q] Best SPEN/Stock ROM?

Well I flashed my Note II before ever trying the SPEN out... I'd like to flash a ROM that supports the Samsung app store as well as the SPEN but I like some of the options that are offered in AOKP roms is there anything that is the best of both worlds or close?
Any suggestions would be very appreciated.
Update: I found it!!
Hi all,
I think I've found my new all time favorite ROM and its stock!
The ROM is called: [ROM][2/15][N7105XXDMB3 ULTIMATE] Best International Stock ROM for i317 Variants
Located at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2016575
I like this ROM because of the following options:
- Custom Themes (the blue one is almost as nice as the Cobalt theme I was running on AOKP)
- S-Pen Support
- S-Note
- Samsung App's
- Dual Camera Apps (Samsung camera app and 4.2.1 Nexus camera with sphere mode)
- Call Recording (Baked in)
- Very nice installer (when flashing from a recovery)
- Tablet DPI (for split screen on email and settings also makes calendar show whats going on in month view rather than colored bars!)
- ~25 Toggles (for everything you could want imho better than 4.2.1's)
- Audio DSP's (EQ profiles)
- No Bluetooth bug like other custom ROM's!
- Every stock Samsung option is working (S-Beam, All-Share, One Handed Operation)
- ETC...
IMHO more options and settings than AOKP/CM/PA
This is just off the top of my head after using it for 2 days... Its a very impressive ROM to say the least I am also getting the best battery life yet! (~6hrs screen on 15hrs total) and that's heavy use Wi-Fi always on Bluetooth on GPS on and 3G when not connected to Wi-Fi)
I also did speed tests on my Nexus 4 using the same SIM at the same place and the N4 toped out around 4-6Mbps download and 1-1.2Mbps upload where has the Note II is getting 12-15Mbps down and 2-5Mbps up so why would i change to LTE? (these results were not a one day fluke thing it was a routine test over a week on both phones)
If anyone has tried this ROM and know of and even better more feature filled stock rom with s-pen support feel free to post below!

Most people will probably tell you to start trying them all out. Different people have different opinions and different views.
Current Devices: At&t Samsung Galaxy Note, Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Asus Google Nexus 7 Super Tablet
Current Roms: Skynote 7 (Note 2), AOKP (Galaxy Nexus), Nexus 7 Stock
I would start with CleanROM, gonna be as close to stock as possible.

Well from my experience, there is not a ROM that offers "the best of both", at least in regardsyou are looking for. The AOKP-ish rom that I tried, "JellyBam" still had the hover functionality of the SPen (without the hover marker), but not SNote, Quick Command, etc. I have never used the Samsung App Store, as it is redundant to me.
I am not sure what AOKP features that you are looking for in particular though.
All the roms here are solid. Just try them out and see which one you like.
OG Note ii running JDevil
I have cleanrom and only have lost the snote popup functionality that opens the actual app. I still get the standard snote popup so that i can write down a message if that makes any sense.

Embryo 6.3 doesn't sleep enough. Halp.

Hey everyone,
I am loving the embryo Rom it is nice and usable and it has the TW features that I missed on AOSP Roms. (Especially the lock screen and camera)
Lately, I have been having trouble getting my phone to sleep (notably since the update to 6.3).
I've tried Eugene373's cpusleeper dual core which I bought a while back, and it is not doing much for me.
Anyone have any tips or similar experience?

the first thing i would do is download cpu spy. after you do that hit reset timers.
make sure you are not on power cord. after that let the phone sit without touching it for about 10 min.
if it that it is not going in to deep sleep meaning that it doesn't show ever being in deep sleep. i would
first check what programs are running, that could be waking the phone. if that's not the case i would try a different
kernel. just make sure it is one that works for the version of android you are running and that it works with touch wiz
although i can't see why you would use a touch wiz rom when you have cm 10.1 and aokp 4.2.2. lol:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::laugh::laugh:
