FLASH to MetroPCS/Cricket without Root - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

of course you can flash the phone with CW without rooting the phone but how about getting the web and mms working without rooting the phone?
i know its possible cause one day i was messing around with an epic and i was programming profile 0, 1 and 2 then some nv settings and my internet was working.
as far as mms i loaded the metropcs APN settings and i downloaded mms.apk then it worked.
i have other epic now and HTC Evo but i am not able to get the web and mms to work again without root.
Any idea?

Try this

try this but you wont get mms to work by just replacing the mms i dont think.

[Q] EVO flashed to boost no roms?

Okay so let me explain my dilemma. I have a flashed evo 4g with a custom recovery and custom rom.
Since I don't have windows XP for the correct drivers or a boost phone to use so I called this store that does it.
They said they can do it on a custom rom but things like MMS wont work and I'll never have 4g. Which I know the 4g doesn't work on most custom roms thats okay.
He said it would have MMS if I just put my phone back to stock. But I wont be able to flash a custom ROM again because it will erase their patch and I wont have boost anymore because it will erase the phone.
Why is that? If I do it myself is MMS available? And if I do it myself would I erase the boost switch when changing roms? I don't see how it could if your just switching the routing address per say to the phones.
All you have to do is change the APN settings to boosts gateway for MMS to work, needs to be done for every rom flash. The calls, SMS and data settings will stick between flashes. The wipes required to flash a rom don't affect the partition those settings reside in

how do I change the APN setting? And should I switch back to stock before I have them change it?

[Q] APN Woes on Toroplus

Hi everyone!
I've been having connectivity issues on my Sprint GNex ever since I flashed my latest ROM. I haven't been able to send any MMS, and any time I try to use the web I get error messages. I think that I've nailed down that it's an APN issue, and I've tried to follow the steps to resolve it.
I've tried APN Backup and Restore, but since I'm running 4.3 that doesn't work. I've also tried going into Settings > More > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names, but on every single ROM that I've used I have not been able to find the Access Point Names screen (as in it does not exist). Is there any way that I can get the APNs fixed an alternate way? Maybe something that I can flash from recovery? I feel like I've tried everything!
Do you have the ability to add a new APN?

[Q] PRL Error Code 6 MMS Not working!

PRL Error Code 6 MMS Not working!
Please help me out guys, haven't had this much trouble with prl's or apns ever but this is driving me crazy and couldn't find anything googling. So basically I had a stock ND8 sprint gs3. Wiped via factory reset then flashed twrp via odin then cyanogenmod11. This is when the problems started. I couldn't send mms. Looked at apn and it says there were over 1600 provider settings! Even had stuff for UK + Asia... Backed up my apns from my other working gs3 (16apns for sprint only ) and no difference. Then I flashed back to wicked7.3 and tried updating prl or profile and keep getting error code 6. Still shows the 16 sprint apns only. PLEASE HELP! TYIA
UPDATE: This is a service error, not your phone. I had to call Sprint. They reinitialized services and it was up and working within 5 mins.

New APN refuses to save and cannot edit existing NO MMS

I have a Sm-g988U that I have flashed to SM-G988U1 to run the OneUI 4.0 Beta and everything was working great but once I went to the beta I lost MMS. The MMS part of the APN that the phone Automatically loads is missing and the phone refuses to save any new APN. And Since it is a Verizon Based Sim (Visible) all the ways via secret codes to change things do not work. Ive tried everything. Someone help please!
