Guys,
Today very excited about the new 2.2 update and downloaded and installed it directly without thinking on the root possibilities.
Now i have an desire with the 2.2 android rom from HTC and no root, is there any possibility to get back on the 2.1 android rom from HTC and so get root?
Thanks,
Laav

Hope so, will see after my holiday .
Here is the update.zip (not signed)
Have fun!
The chances are that someone will find another exploit and root it in the next few weeks.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Sorry, I'm a new guy here and I really want to know the answer.
Thanks!
Yes it can, has been for a few weeks...just gotta wait for unrEVOked 3.2x to be properly released
So means one still cannot use one-click root for the official 2.2?
Not until unrEVOked 3.2 is officially out, no
Thanks for your help!

the 2nd link you have should work for you, if not there is another thread in the dev sections that has instructions on how to root manually.
Hi guys I'm currently running mikfroyo 4.6.2 and when I try to update to gingerbread my phone says no update . Yeah I know I'm not suppose to update but I was curious to see what the process looked like.. is this normAL

Is same. Differences may exist betwen froyo (2.2.*) and gingerbread (2.3.*) but if you install a GINGERBREAD update on GINGERBREAD i think you won't any problems right?
