I have an application which can set my DHD auto reboot in the every night. I do not want to be awaken by the DHD reboot vibrate. So does anyone know of a way to disable the vibrate that takes place during reboot?
You cant. That part is located in the bootloader (not to be confused with boot.img), and if you could edit that, you would most likely brick your device.
There's no reason you need to reboot the device. Its not a blackberry. lol
I think i can get more free memory through reboot.

I think DHD have more than enough memory though.. Even the memory management on android itself can kill some of the background process to free the memory..
I think, only my nokia's need the reboots every now and then..
You don't need to free more memory, if some application need more memory than available, android will free up some automatically.
TL : DR Android ram management is good enough.
delete that app that causing auto reboot!

just like the title says is there anyway or app that will allow me to auto reboot my phone at a specific time?
my phone runs a lot smoother when it gets a reboot daily but for convenience purposes i would love it if i could set it to reboot when i'm not using it like 2am or something like that.
None that I am aware of.
I've had goodluck with Fast Reboot, plan or Pro version. And I've also used Quickboot too. Quickboot is a one touch reboot option. Where as Fast Reboot just "restarts" core files, freeing up mem in the process.
They don't do it automatically, but they are only a one touch. Which isn't too time consuming.
Hope it helps!
Just my thoughts. Good luck!

Tasker. It's worth the money. I have used tasker to replace the 4-n-1 reboot menu as an example.
Anyone else have serious issues with the inc2? I am not sure if mine is constantly running out of memory or something, but I have tried using a task killer which did not help. Push email does not push, whole phone slows down when all I do is run Facebook and use the default internet browser, and I mean to the point of the text becoming lagging, where I can continue to tap letters out and then it literally has to catch up to write it all out.
I have done a few factory reset and now have no applications installed and still see the phone struggling to type this very post out.
Sometimes it for so annoying that I just had to restart the phone or if that had trouble loading would simply pull the battery out.
Could the phone be over heating or something? Because it does not seem like it is an issue with background applications as it always tells me that I have more that 90% of the memory free.
I would somewhat understand if I was watching some highdef movie, streaming Pandora all at the same time...but no.
Sounds like my Eris before root...something is wrong...maybe try to swap if for another?

Do you use the HTC email app? Apparently this causes a lot of the problems you are describing.
i've been having some of these issues also, especially the typing lag. not really sure why. but i'm hoping that with a new custom ROM, things will be resolved.
I've had some of the same issues as described but I found it to be fixed once I got into the default recovery and cleared out the cache.
It doesn't erase anything on the phone and seems to have helped things out for me tremendously.
Just be prepared the first boot afterwards will take a while.
You also need to disable fast boot in the power menu through settings in order to access the default recovery.
Vol down + power I believe.

Yes I do. Mainly to push my university's email, which uses gmail. I guess I will try to use the gmail application instead and see how that works.
Ugh, hopefully Gingerbread fixes and upgrades a lot of this stuff.

Interesting, will have to give this a try as well.
Edit: Hmm...When ever I try to access that recovery mode it gives me that "!" logo thing, no option to clear cache. :/
If you download apps2sd free app it has a cache cleaner for non root

Oh okay, will try that.
Damn, it seems that disabling that HTC mail app and using the gmail app instead not only actually pushes email within seconds but also a lot of the lag seems to be absent. Weird, what the hell was HTC app doing, lol?

Unless I'm wrong, the HTC mail app will only push Exchange accounts. Everything else is polled at an interval. It can be a good part of keeping the phone awake/draining the battery. Though, it is for legitimate reasons.
I notice whenever I reboot my phone, the Developer Options always disables itself, meaning I must turn it back ON and tick "keep screen awake" and adjust any other features there as well such as window animation speed, etc.
Does this happen for anyone else and how can I fix it?
Also, sometimes the chosen font won't apply it to everything. I'll have to change the font and back again in order for icons and SMS to have it again.
Another thing is when I freshly boot my phone, I'll have somewhere around over 1000-1200 MB of memory available. Over the course of my phone being on, it keeps lowering to near 600. Even if I close running applications and other stuff running in the background. Why does this happen?
I can't think of anything else at the moment.
Are you on stock or custom ROM?

Memory loss over time is a typical memory leak situation. Comes from bad coding, or more precisely, code that isn't gced.

I don't have this problem... either on stock or CM10.1

Around 600MB free RAM is typical for GS3 touchwiz. Did you try to clear the recent apps (holding down the Home button then hit the trash can icon on the lower right corner), that will free up some memory as well.

Also you really shouldn't be micro managing what you have running all the time, even when you have about 600 to 800 mb free chances are you won't be using probably 1/3 of that. Android always been good with multitasking especially this 2gb ram phone.

As far as the fonts go, it happened on stock, but rooted stock. Also happened on a few custom roms. I don't think it seems to be doing it anymore, though... probably a few reboots cleared that up. But the Developer Options thing still happens.

Yep. Probably a memory leak like mentioned, but it's still weird. Probably because it's a custom rom with a dev's own coding, huh?
These problems aren't a huge deal, but they do happen. Everything little bit fixing would be nice. I'm really liking this phone!
Thanks everyone for the replies.
Has anyone else had problems with an intermittent screen flicker when opening the keyboard? I remember the problem when using custom roms, but I never thought it would happen on stock unrooted...
Well, the last rebooting didn't turn off Developer Options, nor the Windows animation scale/speed. But the Stay Awake was still unchecked.

Yes, I do. It's a quick flicker, but it's noticeable.

It seems like my phone is using alot of ram. I have the smart manager widget and it shows it's using almost 90% of r all the time. If I clear it it will eventually go back up..how do I get the phone to stop using so much
Should I factory reset?
Can I factory reset and still keep root?
Or should I just delete some apps.
I have it set to a 3 app process limit
Known bug... wait for Samsung to release update.

it is same with me.....copy paste problem with my edge. iam using 30 % of memory and m ram is alltime about 86-92% free space.....craaaazy. there is no help becuase my device was on service but problem isnt gone......,but we can hope that lolipop 5.1 will fix problem
I went to T-Mobile under the 14 trial period and change my two S6 Edge because of this, prior to knowing the RAM issue. The two replacements still doing the same. lol Waiting for 5.1 or 5.1.1, these devices are a beast !!
So I searched and couldn't find anything useful, my phone has a horrible lag! It's crippled my phone to a point where I want to throw that piece of s... out the window! It takes ages to wake up, when I write something it completely freezes and about few sec it's normal again!it's all lag across all apps, tried factory but it doesn't seem to have any effect! Yeah sure I could only run one app but what's the point! My first phone went into bootloop, this is a 604 version! Would root and a custom rom help?

Do you have activated adoptable storage? That means do you use your external SD card as internal storage?
Maybe it is your SD-Card which is corrupt
Nope I didn't do that! But when I restart the phone it feels snappier.. Or maybe it's placebo! Tried the debloater today + I uninstalled quite a lot of apps, I did help a bit
