Spend 5 minutes searching and you will find your answer in a bunch of threads. It's a waste of money.

I got two "1700s" from htc express and they deff last longer than stock.. even if they don't I now have three batteries and a battery charger

You pay for cheap crap, you get cheap crap. The battery might work fine now, but wait a couple of months, and you start getting a max of 4-5 hours out of it from a full charge. that money you saved will be gone because you have to buy another battery. Just my $.02 from experience. That was with the Incredible, with the TB in a couple months, cheap crappy batteries may only last a couple hours...

So, my OG Droid was acting up and my upgrade wasn't due until late july so I decided to purchase a Droid X.
While, I don't have the phone yet, and it is used I was debating whether or not a second battery is necessary as I will have a car charger from my original droid. But, at the same time I have had a second battery with most of my phones for years. But, then again I will most likely be replacing this phone by Sept/Oct the absolute latest.
You might be able to get by on just one battery. It seems the DroidX has one of the best battery lives for Android phones. If you do buy another battery, I would suggest the extended battery. It adds only 1mm to the back of the phone and it gave me around 4-5 hours more battery life than the standard battery. Then you can always have the standard battery on backup if you need some extra juice at the end of the day.
thanks for the tip
On Rubix Focused I can get 24 hours of battery life with heavy use! I have been thinking of getting an extended battery though. It would just be convenient
I have an extended battery and carry the standard battery that came with the DX in my car just in case i ever need to swap..no biggie, convenient.
Hey, I used the BH6X from Motorola and gave me superb life. I got more that 20 hrs (using juice defender) from it. Im now reviewing the 3800mAh that I got off eBay on the X2 forums, you're welcomed to come by since this battery is for both x's. I didnt want to start a whole new thread here in the X forums.

it really depends how heavily your using your phone and what for
I have 2 Motorola BH5X Standard 1500mAh Batteries I keep on me for backup at all times, which, ever since my sister-in-laws wedding and a trip to disneyland has become the standard for me.
Turns out taking a butt load of pictures and helping my wife manage the people at a wedding required a total of 3 batteries for my phone
Meanwhile, taking a lots of pix at Disneyland with no readily available outlets for my external charger also made 3 batteries the perfect number, especially after recording those late night light shows.
On a regular day though I can stretch out a single battery if I have an outlet for charging nearby or 2 batteries without a charger.
and yeah, I don't restrict data either so that does a number on my charge.
I get around 30 hours on the standard battery but I work from home, doesn't get two hours of streaming use on the way to and from work anymore. When I was driving two hours I would charge it every afternoon on the way home depending on the previous nights use. I also picked up a xoom so I use the phone a lot less now.

I am LUCKY to get 7 hours... I had to get a 2nd battery!
I ended up buying a second battery from Amazon for like 5 dollars and a cheap charger for the battery. Anytime I know I'm going to be out for awhile I take the extra battery. It has saved me a bunch of times.
If you're playing games or streaming movies a lot then I would def get one. With moderate use, I get at least 12 hours on mine
I would advice to replace a factory battery with an extended battery.
This one for instance is 3600mAh Extended Battery by Mugen, at least twice the capacity compared to factory battery. Reliable brand as well.
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.co...y-for-motorola-droid-x-with-battery-door.html
I would recommend one if you use your x constantly more than 4 hours in a single use.

I am going to pull the trigger since I have Amazon Prime, I will let you know how they work:
http://www.amazon.com/Hyperion-Thun...E5Z2/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1308109942&sr=8-5
If they suck, Amazon return policy is great.
Good luck! Kudos to them not trying to lie about them being 1700mah or something.
Please do report back, this looks like a good deal if they hold a decent charge.
Going on vacation in a couple weeks and these would be good to have around.
thanks, good luck.
ordered them and give them a whirl as well!
I read the reviews on amazon... They seem to be pretty good

im interested to know how they work as well!
I'm definitely interested in what you have to say. I actually added this item to my car a week or two ago after looking at the various options available on Amazon.
i just go these yesterday, im charging them as we speak. they seem to weigh the same as the stock battery as well...
I have these same 1700 batts and they are good to go. With my Rom combo and running the battsave kernel with juice defender I'm lasting a day and a half with moderate usage.

So your 1700 is actually 1500??
So far charged mine in 2 hours via wall charger. Feels lighter? And it doesn't fill in the back cover.

Ok... I have cycled both of them once or twice. One lasts a little longer than the other. The good one battery lasts about 6-8 hours, when comparably I could probably get 8-10 hours with my stock battery. The other seems to last 6 hours or so. I can't say my usage pattern has been normal lately so a little hard to be sure on how good they are. Overall, comparable at best to stock, but for 2 batteries, and the external charger, I am satisfied fro $25. So if you were looking to pull the trigger, its worth $25. I always carry a spare with my now, it is kinda nice, because now I just do whatever I want without regard to battery usage.
By the way, I am in Chicago, 4g everywhere, all the time, and am running BAMF Preview 4 on the MR2 radio. I sync an exchange account (push), one comcast account (updates every 2 hours), plus weather syncs every hour. I usually do web browsing, email, couple phone calls, and a bunch of scrabble and XDA browsing.
Thanks for the info, im definately ordering one today
How does the charger work? does it plug directly into the wall?
Anyone know if can be the problem to have 2 different batteries (1 original and 1 fake 2000 MaH - Which holds much less than the original) and china battery charger?
So I charge 2000 Mah battery over charger, take original from phone when ran out and put it in charger and put 2000 MaH battery in phone and start the phone... and doing that over and over... Can something get wrong with phone by doing that? Can something get wrong with calibration...?
tnx
I found this one on ebay and it has a lot of positive feedback from others who bought the same one (for Evo 4G) and they are all positive and say it lasts a lot and blah... I just wanted to ask around here what u guys think about it.

I got one and have been using it for about a month now. Blows stock battery outta the water for me. I'm giving it thumbs up.

I have several of them. I wouldn't say they " blow the stock battery out of the water" but they are a decent stock equivalent. Only thing is they don't have the internal temperature probe like the stock battery, so if you want to monitor the battery temp you will need to get an OEM HTC battery.
Do some more looking around on Ebay for a better price. I got 2 of them plus an external charger for $21.99 with free shipping.

If your battery is not up to par you should look into gettin MikG 2.60 with chop suey kernel....in my first run I got almost 17 hrs on a single charge.... I will attempt to show pictures....of BTW its a stock battery....no extended life here of huge back cover
Sent from my EVO with a 16 hour battery
I purchased a battery charger and a couple of HTC batteries for $7 each. I usually go through atleast 2 whole batteries per day but I have never been able to go through all 3. I never worry about having to be tethered to a charger all day or my battery use for any reason
I'm not sure if these batteries are any good, but not much risk if anyone wants to try them out. $4 + $2 shipping.

Don't bother. I have that same battery, it's crap. It barely lasts longer than the stock battery.
Ive been seeing those batteries around at local cell shops. I really dont feel too cozy with buying batteries like those. Wonder how good the quality is on them. My friend got one similar on ebay a while back ago but he regularly switches over from that one to the stock battery for some odd reason.
Yeah they are okay and will last you longer then your stock, but life wise they will live a short life and be prone to overheating and possibly even exploding. That price sounds like its to good to be true only because it is. Spend the extra money and get a sprint or seidio battery which will actually last you.
I got one of those, has to go through 5 charge cycles before it has the added kick... I don't mind the fact that it is a cheap one, all I care is that it lasts longer than the stock one... if it has a shorter life than the $50 ones, I don't care, I can just buy another one.

I bought these batteries but I found it much more relaxing to walk around with 2 M80's is each pocket.
Looks like the one I got from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/4G-3500mAh-Ex...Y68C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1328647358&sr=8-1
Getting worse and worse after each charge, no barely lasting the day. Has same problem as stock. As soon as you pull it off the battery charger BAM, down to 98% then downhill from there.
Anker FTW!!!!
They make great quality batteries.
I bought one of the 3500mah batteries and am getting great battery life. With CM7 and savagedzen I'm getting at least a full day with gps always on. I've gone as long as 48 hours without charging and still had life.

How heavy is your use? And are you using a external charger or via your phone?
I would think you would be getting better life than that, What was your use on the phone?
Does anyone know of a good, reliable extended battery that won't charge up the ass like the Mugen one does? (I'm sorry, but my Fascinate got a whole day on a $20 extended, $100 is unacceptable)

I got one from an Amazon seller for $12. I think it's 3,700 mah and I easily get a day out of it. However, it's stupid to use something that large and that adds weight and bulk to such a thin and light device. Especially when it's just as inexpensive and easy to simply buy 2 or 3 stock-sized batteries and a wall charger on eBay. I carry 1 or 2 spare batteries in my back pocket and don't even notice they're there. Why wouldn't you do this?
im currently testing this one.
on my 2nd cycle right now with 26% left im at:
21hs up time, 3hrs screen time about 1hr Pandora. been on 4G/3G the whole time with all my radios on but GPS.
it seems like im getting about 30% more life out of this batt vs the OEM. which seems to be getting me over a full day of use with out needing a charge.

MUGEN is a great brand, i know because i own their battery for my G2 and S2, you get what you paid for man. on test i found that the MUGEN outlast the SEIDO by 30-40 min screen on time under hard benching...now this data is of course base on S2 battery.
right now i am testing Hyperion, look for my post, i will give more update soon as i am on my 3rd full charge right now, will bench by the end of the week. I am in talking with MUGEN and Anker to give me a free sample to do a review on their battery,
id agree that "namebrand" batteries tend to yield better results.
in fact i would have personally preferred a Samsung Extended battery. but i cant see spending $100 one a 4000mAh battery from Mugen when a replacement 63Wh batt from Samsung for my M11x is $125.

Just throwing out counterpoints: It can be a hassle to have to shut down, take the phone out of a case (if you have one), swap batteries and put it back together, etc. With an extended, you don't miss a beat. Also, since the phone is thin and light, having a big, heavy battery isn't so bad -- makes it feel about the same as a lot of older phones.
That said, I'm using a stock battery, but have been considering a nice extended battery eventually.

I just don't see how any one can justify carrying extra batteries on a +600$ phone?
I mean the battery life is great already, not shabby by any means. I got 1d 11h with 3 hour screen on time on my Verizon phone this weekend on stock battery. But no call or hotspot like I do during my work day. But a ~2500mAh would probably last me the whole day even on a work day. I'd pay $45 for that with nice cover. (slightly thicker won't be such a bad thing on this phone)
I have few more days before I can return this phone to verizon for full purchase price of 600 bucks. But it's making me think twice about returning it because it's still 2x better than my rooted galaxy nexus.
Carrying extra batteries, at least for me, is zero hassle. They slip into my back left pants pocket and I never even notice they're there. Granted, I can see swapping batteries being somewhat of a hassle for some people but, even if you had an extra step in removing a protective case, how long could it really take? 1 or MAYBE 2 minutes? This phone shuts down quickly and boots up just as fast.
