[Q] Yellow hue in all pictures since 2.3.3 - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ever since updating to GB all my pictures have a yellow hue in the middle. No matter what the lighting condition is. I played with all the settings, and the only one that removes it is reducing the saturation to -2, but then the pictures look like black and whites. Anyone else come across this, or know how to fix it? Here are two examples. The plain wall is all white, but you can see the yellow in the middle. Same with the clock. the yellow is very annoying.

I am using 2.36.405.8 and do not have the issue. Try reading this post : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=875230
and post your question here .

I did check that thread out, and nothing really seemed to match my issue, but I will post there to see if anyone can help. Thanks.

3-D Texting!

Hi everyone, forgive if anything like this is already up (I searched and found nothing). But I completely customized the text messaging appearance so that it takes advantage of the pure black that the AMOLED uses.
(This is all using the app: "Handcent SMS")
I downloaded "handcent SMS" went into settings --->custom style--->bubble settings:
Here is where I Changed Conversation style to: Android
Background color: pure black (all colors to zero)
Incoming background and outgoing background to: pure black
(By then everything should be black)
Now this is what makes the effect happen:
I adjusted incoming font color to pure red (255)
Then I put outgoing font color to 138-Green and 255-Blue
I adjusted both fonts to size 22.
I Also noticed that the date font color also helps with the effect and I have mine at 83-green.
So once you have all these setting in place, the pure black and the incoming red font should look like it pops right out at you, while the blue outgoing font color sits in the back!!!
I noticed the effect pops out more outside or whenever theres a more light in the room!
(First write up, forgive if I'm not as thorough as I should be)
Give it a shot, mess around with the colors!
Interesting effect. I do like the glossy black background. Though I found the pure red to be too harsh. I settled on official Android Blue (51, 181, 229) for the incoming text font color.
Will try it out for a few days to see whether it's a keeper.
Update: Making the incoming text font a couple of points larger than the outgoing enhances the 3D effect.

I've noticed 3D looking text in other apps like tibu but I've never though of using it for texting, its pretty cool
can you take a screenshot of it?
Crazy! It actually does give a semi 3D effect

Eh, the red text certainly pops out but I wouldn't say it does so in a 3d kind of way. In fact it looks sort of pixelated to me and harsh to look at. More like it's grabbing my attention by being so stark compared to the rest of the screen.
I think I like your color settings for the outgoing text though, very easy on the eyes. I'm messing around with options for the other color, so far I'm working with max green, mid blue and red.
Still waiting for a screenie

Blue and red colors always appear to have depth on a solid color hence the red and blue 3D glasses. It's an optical illusion but neat if you like that sort of stuff.

Wow pretty cool!!!!!
Ok so clearly a troll post. Looking at the instructions alone you can tell nothing 3D about it. I'll post a screenshot in 10 mins. Maybe we can get an op to get rid of it.
Screen shot attached

It actually gives you an optical illusion of a 3D effect.
And it works, I tried it on my phone.
Nice find OP.

I just updated a screenshot of it. Look at my results. I followed the instructions in the OP. If you think it's any different then provide a screenshot as proof.
You can see same illusion/effect in Titanium backup's app list

Ever thought that this effect won't come out in a screenshot because it's an effect of the AMOLED screen or the specifical display?
Ever thought that this is an optical illusion and not an actual 3D-effect and you might just not see it because it is, in fact, an illusion?

[Q] LED weird colours

is it normal that my LED colours seem to have multiple colours in them.. like example if i set the notification ligth to be orange ( with paranoid rom, but did the same on stock with lightflow) the light will be half light red and the other half will be yellow.. or green and blue if i want light blue.. it seems i have to mess around with the colours value (RGB) to get just one solid colour and not a mix of multiple colours..
this is hard to explain.. so if you know what i mean please let me know.. if not i can take a picture and upload them here!
Thanks
It's my understanding that although it IS an RGB LED, that doesn't necessarily mean that it will be able to recreate every color you could dream of. There's actually another thread here in the S3 section (Forget which part) where people are compiling a list of different Hex values of colors that turn out really well.

thing is is that im using ParanoidAndroid rom, and i dont see the option to add a hex value.. i can only pick a hue and slide the colour around ..
Well, in my experience with that, it seems to have a better color output for the LED if you don't have the saturation all the way up..... Say if you were shooting for a pure red color, have the slider down just a bit from as bright as it can get. Seemed like whenever i tried using that to set LED colors, if i had it all the way up, it had something else mixed in.... generally i think a bit more of a white color to it.

[Q] Imp. Question regarding screen calibration in perseus

I own a galaxy note 2 international model(N7100) and am running the perseus kernel on omega v12.
I've ticked the master sequence and the register hook along with decreasing red in white by-10, didn't fiddle with anything else. I've tried adjusting to the new settings but I still feel as if somethings off. I downloaded an app called display tester from the market and found the results to be away from the perfect colour settings. I am in no way saying that the calibration is wrong but my display could be different.
In the banding test there is small amount of banding in the beginning of the spectrum. (1st screenshot)
Most importantly, In the saturation test, there is mixing of red, orange and magenta in the beginning and the Middle of the range. There is also mixing of the last two hues of blue at the bottom of the screen. (see 2nd screenshot)
In the gamma test the red, blue and green are way off at 3.0 approx (I know this shall be rectified in later iterations of the kernel but just wanted to share it . the last two screenshots are of Black contrast and white contrast test respectively.
What should I do so as to get the perfect saturation and banding diagram?
Please help..
Also my display driver is s6evr02.
If possible, could someone post this question of mine in the development section of the perseus kernel... I am unable to do it as my post count is less than 10.. Thanks in advance..

Mine goes really green (greys) at low brightness.
@mattabyte can you please check this too? Check it in a very dark room/night at low brightness (not the lowest). And please report here.

one plus providing fix for this on next ota plus ram fix tooo so wait
Yes, I get this. I also get purple trails.
This can't be fixed, I don't think, unless they raise the lowest brightness. From my searching it looks like an issue with quite a few older AMOLED phones.
Well, greys would become pink on my Nexus 6P as well. But for it it turned green which looked really weird. I sent in for a replacement.
I have a slight purple tint to some grays on low brightness, yes.
I also have blue/purple trails when dragging black items over a dark background on the screen, visible on all brightnesses but much more so on low.
Yellowish screen
I also have a little issue with my screen. My screen gets yellowish on the left when the background is grey, this don't happens when another color is shown...
Is this a software issue and can it be fixed or do I need to return the phone?
youtube.com/watch?v=8IlHPtAXWGE
I made a video showing this issue.... That clearly appears on grey backgrounds.
Do you guys think that the upcoming update could also fix this issue ?
I also have yellowish tint on the right side of my screen

Yes, display uniformity problems are unfortunately very common on the OP3, as also a thread in Oneplus' own forum shows (with a poll). You have to return the device for a replacement as often as you need to finally have a device with even screen.

Question Display issues after MIUI 12.5.2 update

Link to reddit video
After the 12.5 (Indian) update, I'm starting to notice that the colours of the display has gone weird. It doesn't look like an amoled anymore. Is anybody else experiencing this?

Also the display is perfectly fine in lock screen. The colours go weird after I unlock the phone.
While trying the latest miui build I noticed that blacks don't really turn the pixels off like an amoled should. You can notice this for example in the camera app at the top and bottom bars that should be black but in reality are slightly red, only noticable in a dim room or if you crank the brightness. I think this is their way of "fixing" gradient issues on this phone and it indeed is less present but at what cost?

Ah so it is indeed because of their gradient issue. I hope they completely fix this one day.
