Out of the blue I am not able to swipe down to pull down the notification bar.
I was on Miui 1.6.3 and it was working for a week when all of it sudden it didn't. I tried flashing CM7 and it didn't work there either. I restored Miui and still doesn't work. I tried Launcher Pro and it won't work. It does work with ADW launcher but I think that is because it has it's own swipe settings.
Where would this be from? Is it a kernal thing?
LauncherPro won't work? Do you mean the app won't work, or you still can't swipe? Some launcher replacements have swipe settings you can change. Did you modify a setting? If your touchscreen works for everything else, it's likely not a problem with hardware. Do you swipe from the same "spot" every time? Can you try a different spot (farther to the left or right)? Do you have problems tapping on other stuff on the screen?
Lancher pro works, just having the same swiping issue with it. No settings changed. Rest of the screen is fine. The weird thing is not working in different roms.

So far all I have tested...Miui, CM7 and OMGB. Miui was running fine for a week and one afternoon it just stopped swiping down. ADW is the only thing that I can use as it has a setting that if you swipe down anywhere on the screen it will come down. I know it makes no sense...screen is fine otherwise and even reacts fine directly under the bar. Can't see how it is hardware...several different roms and kernals tried. Could that function be deeper, like in the radio? That was flashed a week or two before this problem happened.

so I've had an issue with this for awhile and have no clue what's causing it. if i hit menu then the option for notifications it almost never opens the first time. started happening months ago on cm6 nightlies and I thought it was an issue with them at first but it's persisted through multiple full wipes and different roms.
when I hit notifications it'll either do nothing or start pulling down and stop and it usually takes 5-10 tries for it to work as intended. hitting menu and pulling it down manually is fine.
anyone else have this issue ever or know of a possible solution? I've tried full wipes a couple times and the only thing I haven't done is an ruu which I'll probably try later today.

When I hit menu / notification, the menu just closes- nothing else no matter how many times I do it. I never noticed before because I use LauncherPro+ and have "hide notification bar" checked &when I want to see it I hit menu and swype the bar down with my finger manually- never use the notification button.
Are you using LauncherPro? I was thinking the glitch was from that since the button worked when I first got the phone and just used the Sense UI, no clue about launchers or rooting or ROMs. (I'm sooo much happier with my rooted, senselessrEVOlution, Lou's custom kernel 5, LauncherPro+, btw!)

well just tested and looks like that's the issue lp+ and using the hide notification bar too. turned it to display normally and it works 100% of the time. thanks! gonna try and send a bug report to the dev.
the very bottom of my touch screen (i'd say about 1/4" of it) sometimes doesn't respond when touched, i say sometime, but really its only in a few apps, in the Facebook app i cant check my notifications unless i use the scroll pad, in Gmail i cant delete a message unless i switch to landscape, at first i thought it was the touchscreen, but the app drawer launcher opens ass it should, the space bar on the soft keyboard works as it should, i can scroll through the market if i swipe from bottom up, which leads me to believe its some sort of software error... has anyone else had this problem? if so, do you know how to fix it?
also, I've tried it in different roms (stock, cm 6.1) and have rebooted several times but to no avail

I here that the radio effects all driver so you could try to flash a new one. Make sure it doesnt undo the root though!

well, ive tried several different things... basically I ended up completely reverting back to the stock PC10IMG... i am now running stock, ota, no root... basically out of the box plus a minutes, but alas, my touch screen is still doing the same, I've gone through several apps and from i can tell, the majority of the ones that give me issues are the stock ones (i.e. gmail, facebook, voice, etc) and some third party ones (andy 83; the entire bottom row doesn't work which makes it useless as a calculator, wordfued free). Im really not sure how to proceed from here seeing as it seems contained in several apps, but not in the system as a whole... i guess i can live with it, its annoying, but not unuseable

I have my GF's KF which she gave me to flash full fledged android on for her. Everything went well but I notice that sometimes the touch screen doesnt register touches. I sometimes have to touch an icon like 4 or 5 times before it registers it. Is this a common thing with CM 10 on the KF or could the screen just be going bad? I've done some searching and found some people used an app for touch response. Scrolling and stuff is working fine and the screen is very responsive to swipes just not to touches.

Usually that happens to me on the browser when I have too many tabs open. Does it sound like that could be your problem?

No, I dont have any browser tabs open, no apps really installed either. It's a clean install. I will have to sometimes touch an icon on the homescreen or app drawer a few times before it registers that I touched it
In the past there were issues but most are resolved when I had problems I used sgs touchscreen booster seems to work pretty well the keyboard and the browser are the goofiest at this point everything else seems solid... It would truly be a bummer if it were hardware related..
Edit: You have raised my curiosity though.. before flashing CM10 what wipes did you perform and in what order? I know stupid question but different devices different methods...

Settings -> Advanced -> Touchscreen filter level.
Set it to 50 for a start. That should help.
You guys are never going to believe this. hahha I will have to take a video to show you. It was actually Nova launcher! For sh*ts and giggles when I was trying to figure it out I thought "well let me try trebucket or apex.. doubt it will make a difference but let me try" So I changed it to apex, and it registered every touch the first time. I switched it back to Nova and it would start acting up again, switched to trebucket and it was working fine again, switched back to nova and it started acting up again. I finally ended up using trebucket because I couldnt get the grid size to look right with Apex even after messing with it. I seriously couldnt believe it. I will post a video sometime today showing it.. It was very very odd
I've been a longtime iPhone user, and got my feet wet a few months back with my first Android device, a Samsung Galaxy S3. I immediately rooted it, and tried CM 10.1, but I was in over my head, and I hadn't even used my phone enough to know what I wanted to do with it, so I went back to stock.
However, I've run into a few issues with Samsung's stock 4.1.1 ROM, and there doesn't appear to be any definitive answer to if and when they'll update to 4.1.2 or 4.2.x. So I decided to revisit Cyanogenmod.
I installed CM 10.1 (cm-10.1-20130304-EXPERIMENTAL-d2att-M2) last night, and I'm making my way around the system, learning a few things here and there, but I've run across two possible issues. I don't know if it's a bug, or if I'm just doing something wrong:
1. I can't seem to add the camera to the lockscreen as a slider shortcut. In the settings, it gets added just fine, I can see it there, and it saves. But when I go to actually use the slider shortcuts on the lockscreen, the camera isn't there. It doesn't matter which position it's in, either. There's just a blank spot where the camera shortcut should be.
2. The battery light -- I can change the color easily enough, but the option for pulse length is greyed out, and the option for pulse speed doesn't seem to save. When I tap "Test", it works, but once I tap "ok", it goes back to "custom", which seems to be a steady color, no blinking. Again, is this a bug, or just something that I'm doing wrong?

The lock screen shortcuts I think you have to save before you exit that screen. There will be a floppy disk looking thing you need to press before backing out. I dunno about the notification pulse, it should be set once you've put in the value you want. Unless the ROM just doesn't actually have that functionality.

Ok, I just double-checked to make sure that I did, in fact, tap that save button. I did, but it's still not showing up. I tried blanking it out, saving it, and re-adding the camera and saving it, but it still won't show up.
One other "issue" that I just remembered, too... is there any way to get a counter of unread emails on the email icon, like the standard ROM does?
D'oh. You don't need to set the camera app to your luck screen shortcuts because all you have to do is swipe to the left from the right most border of your lock screen and it goes to the camera app.
I don't think there's an unread counter function in cm, but you can try googling it. I know nova launcher has that, but I've never seen anything like that for trebuchet.

Oh, I see that now.
Anyway, it seems to work after I reloaded CM 10.1. Originally, I was using TitaniumBackup to restore all system and app data from my stock Samsung 4.1.1 ROM, which I believe was causing problems (email was crashing constantly, for example). Once I restored only the non-system apps/data, everything seems to work as advertised (except for the counter badges, which seems to be limitation of Trebuchet).
Now that that's solved, I have another question....
When I go to make a photo a wallpaper image, I get a weird "plus" shaped resizer, which prevents me from using the whole image as a wallpaper. See the attached image. Is there any way to discard the side pieces, and just resize the wallpaper for a single screen?
I have a weird problem, a few days ago I could not turn off the morning alarm because the icons in the lower bar (turn off and snooze) just couldn't be pulled up. I thought I was just too sleepy but I later realized that I can't use the lockscreen shortcuts either. The phone registers the touch but the icons just don't move upward. Also can't decline a call because of this.
Everything was fine the day before this happened, there were no system updates, no settings changed. The phone is running on stock rom, Android 4.2.2, Sense 5.0. No matter what settings I change I can't get it to work again, tried searching google and xda and found nothing similar. If I try to use the lockscreen shortcuts multiple times and then go to the app drawer and just scroll up and down sometimes a random app opens, most often messaging or mail, like it registers the lockscreen command only then. This is so annoying, does anyone know what I can try to eliminate this problem? I wouldn't like to try flashing a custom rom because I don't have any experience and am otherwise satisfied with stock system. Please excuse me if my questions are in any way stupid, I'm just a noob
I still can't find a fix for this, is there really nobody else with this problem?
Now I decided to hard reset the phone to fix this...yeah right, the shortcuts still don't work!
