We would have been nerds if I had mentioned warhammer paint

I've got a couple of small scratches either side of my screen following a drop. Looking, I reckon it's 'Dark Flesh' we want - but need something to add that slight metallic finish in it too...

Chipped casing

Edited because I was steaming drunk and it didn't make sense.
So I went out and had a few to many drinks last night. Walking back I stumbled into a wall while texting which resulted in me dropping my phone on the floor and chipping and scratching the phone casing down to what appears to be silver.
Fortunately the phone is ok, but as I'm a bit of a perfectionist I won't be able to rest until It's fixed.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for pointing me here. I've looked at the guide and I don't know if is be confident enough to do it myself. If I paid HTC, would they replace it for me?

Offcourse... how much to pay, that is the question. If you pay them enough, they just give you a new phone ; ).

Only camera I have is my phone. The screen is fine, would've got chipped if I didn't have a screen protector on.
It's literally just the edges of the phone and most of the purple faceplate.

Ring HTC and see how much it will cost.

My guess is well over £100 from HTC.
The only risky thing that I can see in doing it yourself is removing the digitiser.
They could have made the build so as everything is not housed/mounted on to the inside of front fascia though.

Cracked screen fix?

So I stupidly cracked my screen during the weekend, is there any way to fix it or get vzw to replace it under normal warranty?

Just found out that despite paying insurance every month, I have to pay a $99 "deductible " which I at first thought was a Halloween joke.

I watched one as well. Does look a little involved to say the least. I'd give it a try though, but I've always liked taking stuff apart and putting it back together. Biggest thing that looks like a pain, would be heating the glass to remove it
I have a heat gun, and I know how hot it gets, I can imagine that peeling the glass off may not be real fun. Gloves come to mind
Taking all that stuff apart though is my worry. I'm software savy not hardware and I just know il break something. A cracked phone is better than no phone

Custom phone desk stand made out of TECC

Hi Guys,
I made my own simple custom phone stand for on your desk or next to your bed. It's made out of Tecc (Dutch version of merkur: Meccano like parts based on the metric system).
It's pretty sturdy and doesn't flip over easy. It's bolted together by only two screws.
I like the retro feel of it, and it's a bit suspended from the surface it's on, check out more pictures on my blog just google 'blog arjenklaverstijn'!
Tell me what you think.
That's preetty cool lookin!

I still can't get over the fact of how sexy the HTC Desire and Nexus One were... Why don't they make phones like that anymore? I have a G2x which is a nice looking phone, but no phone will ever look as sexy as the Desire and Nexus One. haha

It may work , I'm thinking it may also rust if its not the right metal or it could be plastic .
Use an old screen protector to mask around it then get some fine sandpaper and buffing wheel, don't forget to suck out the holes if there's no filter

ill do it I'm a tech so I can either replace any parts or just have a fellow tech order me a phone. Advantage to being one of sprints pawns.

I see nothing wrong with it from the specs on the page. Looks like something you should be happy with. Price is good enough if you do hate it though. So even though I don't own one I think you did OK...

I have the same one. Its cheap but it works great. My Tab spends most of it time in a dock on my desk but this case works great for a quick trip to the coffee shop. It slips in quick and easy and comes out just as easy. You made a good purchase. For under twenty bucks you won't be dissapointed
Both of you I thank you very much I'm very happy to hear from someone who owns one I'm still waiting for it to turn up I just wanted a case that i could slap on and the stand is a major plus thanks again guys

And I'm still waiting for it to get here when it is ill let you guys know how it goes.. Incase it fails to please what are good alternatives at a cheapish price

I have the first one listed on this page. You can find some great reviews in this section of the forum here too.
Just look for the pyroskins clip case thread. Almost all great reviews. Low prices and fast shipping even to countries other than the USA.
Had you not already purchased before posting I would have pointed you here. I still think you did fine with the one you choose. Durability and good construction would be my only concern, since you can't see that in pictures.
