Quick Look
Link to Buy
Worth noting - If you get this one, notice that it needs miniUSB so the cable that came with your INC2 will not work.

I've been interested in getting a dock. However, I have no confidence in the current offerings as I don't know anything about them and I don't want to just throw away $30 (yeah, I realize it's under $30, but there's shipping charges).
If someone is willing to actually try these out and give recommendations, I'd definitely be interested in going forward with one of these. Until then, I'm waiting for HTC to drop theirs, if they do it.
Edit: I read some info about the Kidigi cradle and it apparently blocks the audio port. This is a deal breaker for me. The other cradle looks to have that side of the cradle lowered so that one probably does not.

Official Spare Battery and charging dock

I just ordered this from the T-Mobile website. I had the same thing with the vibrant and even with this bigger battery I need a second to get through a full day. I'm terrible on battery life on every phone though so it may not be a necessity for most. On my Sensation I was able to get two Anker 1900mah batteries and charging station for $20 on ebay but I can't wait for those for this phone. Hope this helps others.

It is also a dock for your phone so win win...
It would be real cool if while phone was on dock it charged it too! OP could you let us know if it does. Thanks!
i'm also looking forward to order this set as well
i'll definitely need at least 2 more spare batteries and charging dock
If it's the same as the samsung vibrant which I believe it is then no it does not charge your phone. You'll have to have your phone plugged in separately or just swap fully charged batteries.

Ya figured as much... I could do fine with just the two bats. but little worried about how much abuse the back cover can take, the way it clips in is fine but after daily or twice daily seems like it might wear out mighty fast since its so little material already!
There's also this dock, but doesn't include battery charger: http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/EDD-D1F4BEGSTA

Yeah I like that dock but I don't mind paying $50 for a battery and sort of a dock, but cant pay $50 for just a dock. I can play my videos through my hdmi or wifi so no use for the stand alone dock.
I really like the official Samsung dock. Can't justify $50 for it though.
MediaDock does not allow data connection
Heads up on the desktop media dock. I picked it up thinking it would allow a charging/ubuntu connection. Nope. Charge only.
Ordered the charger w/spare battery. I had one of these for my Vibrant and am already missing the spare battery... Exchange push email + the other items I run on the phone make a evening battery swap inevitable...
Just ordered one. A spare battery will be great on this phone, not to mention 2. I could go 2 days without a charger.
Deebo took your bike too?
Just got mine today. Pretty good quality and is what you'd expect from Samsung. The part that holds the phone is decent but far from a dock. Id be worried somebody could bump the table and knock it over.
All in all, its a external charger and does what its designed to do - charge batteries. I can cycle through my 3 batteries evenly now and not have to worry about juice from here on out.

Galaxy Nexus Desktop Dock Now available @ Expansys

Hi All,
just thought I would let you know the Desktop dock is now available from Expansys UK @ £49.99, showing 100+ in stock.
The price is not the best, but its the only place with stock at the moment.
Thanks
Just got mine from amazon
Got mine from Amazon (Germany) too, yesterday... like it very much, and got a nice surprise when the stock launcher went into portrait mode while docked --- EDIT: oh sorry, I meant Landscape mode of course.
It only charges the phone?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
From the looks of it only charging and audio + the infamous dock mode or at least thats what says on the site .
Can anyone check if it works with the CDMA version? What about the extended battery?
I am kinda upset now that this is available when I just spent some money on a MHL adapter.
I'm all for the desktop dock, but the issue I have is that little USB jack in the ass end of my phone is very delicate, and I'd rather not "jam" it down on any metal jack over and over and....you get the point.
Admittedly with dropbox and so forth the micro USB jack is only good for flashing roms, and for now charging.
I'm holding out for the pogo pin adapter.
A long time ago with my first microusb jack phone on my USB A to Micro USB Male cord I took the male jack and filed the "hooks" off of the USB connector so that it slid in easily with no force at all. I found it hard to gauge the force due to the "hooks" pushing back or a misalignment being the case.
I don't see the dock on Amazon or Expansys US sites, can anyone post a link?
I'd like a link as well.
Unfortunately for me, I was able to damage the USB port on the galaxy nexus (don't ask me how, I have no idea), and once I get the replacement part I wouldn't like to take the risk again.
It's a bit overpriced, but I think it looks cool to use it as a clock at side of my bed. Would be nice too if a USB port was on it, but I think it doesn't.

Hey, it is not possible to turn the screen off while on this dock? I do not see a way to hit the power button like the car dock has (the button extension on the car dock itself).... That would really be a bummer....
Can anyone post a pic of the back?
I want to see if it works with the seidio extended battery.
I just called customer service to see why my order is still being processed and they told me it will be out of stock until april 10th. I wasn't going to play this "oh its coming next week" every week game with them, so I cancelled my order... I'll just buy from Amazon.de or Amazon.co.uk

What external battery chargers do you use?

Short and sweet, my usb port is sucking now and theres a dead spot, I have to prop it against something to charge, while sprint may give me another devices, I'm really lazy, and I'd rather just try to get an external battery charger, besides waiting for a new phone and such. I have 2 batteries anyway . Many 3rd party chargers have bad reviews, and I may just get the 20$ OEM samsung one on Amazon but I'd like some feedback first. Thank You!

yiboyuan is the name on them
I picked up a package deal of a couple of extra extended batteries, an extended back to accommodate the larger battery, and a non-name brand wall charger for about $12 on Ebay earlier this year. The seller was in Brooklyn, so no long wait from Asia.
The charger is nothing special but it works fine. You can place the battery in the unit and plug it directly in a wall, or plug in a usb cable and charge up your phone that way. Nice light signals when the battery is fully charged.
Look for the guy, his ebay name is accmonster. Several folks around here had good deals with him.
I can vouch that he ships quickly and has good prices. The extended battery is not quite what the ad says (it's more potent, but not 3500). Shop around his online store and see if he has a deal that fits your interests. Good luck.

I have the same one also, threw the batteries out after they both died around 6 months after I bought them lol. But the charger works perfectly EXCEPT there is something definitely wrong with the USB port on it. When I plug the phone in to charge through the port on the charger, it for some reason disables touch input to the screen. No idea why, must be a strange defect or something. Happens with all micro USB cables.

Looking for USB Cable suggestions

I was reading through the threads and saw a few comments from members who said the stock Samsung charger is not that good
This is my first experience with a Samsung Galaxy phone so I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a good USB Cable
I've already experienced some issues that may be USB Cable related. Some files I transferred through FTP would not complete. It showed up while the phone was charged but when I unplug it the file disappeared (on internal storage)
So if anyone could possibly suggest a good cable, preferably with a link to purchase , I would greatly appreciate it thanks!

Whether or not the Samsung cable is sub-par, you are going to want a better charger. You'll want at least a 2 amp charger (Amazon basics has a decent 2.1 amp one).

I used this charger last night on my GS3 with the old cable from my Droid Charge (which appears to be nearly identical). Seems fine. Charge was decently quick, and there wasn't excess heat at the connector or with the device at large.
My only complaint with the included TouchPad cable is that it "hangs" upon removal, whereas the Samsung charging cable feels a lot smoother going into and out of the port.

Have one in my car and one next to my bed. The phone locks to the wireless dock with magnets which keep it in place and at an incline rather than flat. It's nice. Cost me ~ $25 for all of it.
Oh...and mine doesn't require an ugly case like the Duracell or some sort of special back cover. Phone looks like any other S3.

This might sound stupid but whats the point to spend 100$ on a wireless charger ? Does it really bother you that much to have a cord laying around ? I find it not very conveniant at bed time... /unless its because you need some juice and there is no power source close to you i understand

One advantage is that the micro USB connectors are a weak point in the design of most cell phones. They often break or wear out. Given the extra contacts in ours, I like the idea of avoiding the wear and tear.
But it looks like this one doesn't follow the Qi standard which our phones support with the replacement back which was promoted so I'll pass.

If you look at duracell's page closer, 99.99 is for a S3 "kit" , which :
Includes:
(1) Powermat® for 2 Devices
(1) Wireless Case for Samsung Galaxy S III
(1) Power On The Go
(1) Universal Power Supply (100-240VAC)
(1) Owners Manual
You can also buy the case, powermat or portable battery seperately. The bulky wireless case is 34.99 , the 2 device powermat is 49.99 and power on the go is 49.99.
I'd prefer changing only the backplate instead of having a case around it, but I guess that if you only change the backplate and put a cover on top of it, it could very likely interfere with the wireless charging being to far from the charging mat.
Samsung's own wireless recharger should be available soon somewhere, and supposedly has coils 40 percent thinner than other charger out there, keeping the backplate as thin as possible. Although, I expect the price will be high. I am pretty fed up with all the asian designed cheap accessories ordered over the net for a fraction of the price.. so I wouldn't mind spending on something that i would use as often as a charger.
99.99$ could of been a deal, if the case wasn't so damn huge.
If they would have made a blue or black version I would buy this. Can't see putting a white case on my blue phone.. ugh
Still have to provide power to the wireless charger. Fail.
I'll keep it simple (and stylish looking... man that thing is an eyesore) and plug a cord in
I don't consider it wireless charging if we have to have a gigantic bulky ugly case to do so.
Here's a link to give you a better idea of a DIY wireless charger.

My solution
I guess }{Alienz}{ isn't going to reply. I'll tell you what I did for my wireless charging needs.
I purchased the Palm Touchstone wireless dock from Amazon for about $8 and a new SIII back cover, with a touchstone compatible module to charge the battery, from e-bay for $29 (the scumbag I bought my case from is now selling them for $99) Put that cover on my phone and it looks and works like normal (including NFC), but I can now charge the phone by just putting in on the Touchstone.
Works for me and $35 is hell of a lot better than $80-$100

That's real nice and really simple to implement unlike the hacks I've seen from a few month ago. But the hacks are cheaper, lol. It may even work with the flygrip I have attached to the back of my phone. It's just at 5mm.

I have a receiver and base on order. Receiver was $26 if I remember correctly. I'll post pics and write a review here when everything comes in.
