This is perfect for those that love to frequently flash their roms without the fear of making their phone a paper weight.

funny, this can easily be done by:
with the phone off (remove battery if needed, and put it back in)
hold both volume up and volume down at the same time with your thumb (in the middle of the rocker), and then plug in the USB cable (while still holding the vUP+vDN). This is how I have always done it.
I personally, would never spend money on something that can be done natively without a silly little dongle.
The most useful one thought is:
holding the vUP + power button at the same time, for 5 seconds
this will force a reboot, even if your phone is locked up, in download mode, in recovery mode, etc.
THIS has saved me a couple of times... and it keeps you from having to remove the battery.
Once you get good at it, you can reset this way, and quickly hold both volume buttons, and insert the USB cable, and roll right into download mode again...
Those dongles are nothing special, other than shorting out custom pins that do the same thing as the vUP+vDN+insertUSB, once you master the hold, it's very easy to do. I wouldn't waste your money. IMHO.
I would rather spend the money on a good screen protector or body glove case...

You must not realize that a whole bunch of Captivates do not have the button combo functions enabled. Mine has soft bricked many times and none of the button tricks work at all. For those of us that have these Captivates, we couldn't flash very much without the jig. I made mine about four months ago and it is priceless.
I ordered one a few months ago just in case since I was flash new roms alot.
Actually had to use it last week for the first...worked great!!

Mine is a build 10.08 and I do not have the button combos either - at least with stock eclair 2.1 If i flash a custom rom depending on which rom i flash, I may or may not have the button fix enabled.... I just plug in my usb after rooting with z4root and using the 'reboot download' command from adb shell, I also have a homemade jig that i've had to use once....

I have not had to use one but they are a really great thing to save people. I have a 1010 captivate and hold the volume up and down while pluging in usb works everytime for download mode.
For $8 (found on Ebay) this is cheap insurance for those of us who like to flash their Cappy often, or who just like to tinker around with it and push it to its limits. I didn't hesitate to buy it.
USB Jigs are a lifesaver.
Dont ever want to go here but if i do, awesome!
Some Newer Captivates DO Have 3-button Feature
Not trying to start anything-- I'm just saying I have a 1012 Captivate and 3-button combo has worked from the beginning, through about 6 or 7 flashes, and is working still today.
That said...
As with so many other things in life, I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Found it easily on Bay_wolf's site and my peace-of-mind is in the mail!

"free stuff"??
A while back i used to "try" to root stuff. I sucked at it BAD. Anyway, I have a Galaxy Note 8.0 (GT-N5110) that I had rooted to a certain point (very superficial) and I just kept it the way it was, that way I could use Multi-window for any app. This morning I unplug my tab from the charger only to be disappointed that it will not turn on. Ive tried different power outlets, different cables, different base chargers, even the whole "power+vol_up+home" thing... nothing. I never updated the tab when Kitkat came through the pipeline. Im freaking out that a new major update automatically happened overnight or something. Im sorry to trouble you all, but does anyone have suggestions? Since it's rooted I can't take it to Samsung or Best Buy. Honestly if I could just get it back to stock, that would be awesome, but im more concerned about getting it to simply turn on. Any Ideas?
If your device is rooted you won't get an OTA update so that could not be the problem. You can try to unplug battery (mus open the device)"and see what happened. Maybe your battery is faulty or someting else.
K... I appreciate it Ill take a look. But, lets say I actually open it (without making things worse), how do I determine if the battery is in fact faulty? If it is, can I get a replacement? preferably an official samsung one.
EDIT:
Scratch that. Sry, Im just always scared of doin stuff, so I always feel like I have to ask the question, but I'll look it up. Im confident at least this should be easy enough for me to do Thank you again.
The problem with this device is you cannot pull out the battery easily. Maybe after that steps it boots up again.
Battery removal wasn't bad... now I'm just waiting for a new one (ordered on ebay, crossing fingers hoping it was legit). What did you mean "after that steps it boots up agin."? Will the tablet boot up without the battery if it's plugged in or something?

Wow, that suck. sorry for you man. For now, try to plug the tablet to a computer and while device manager opened and see if there is change. If the change say "qhsusb" or something along that line and not your model number . . . changing battery wont do anything because it's already hard bricked. if not, finger cross.

No. But sometimes after this step and reconnecting the battery the device boots up. Also a battery calibration is done.
I tried plugging in the tablet to the computer with the old battery and then without any battery. Neither one prompted anything in the device manager. Today I got the new battery (assuming its legit and in good condition) in the mail. I plugged it in, and nothing. Plugged the tablet with the new battery to the wall charger, nothing. Plugged the tablet with the new battery to the computer while running device manager, nothing.
I'm going assume that the new battery is dead and let it stay connected to the wall charger for 8+ hrs, and see if there are any changes.
I just really don't understand what the deal is and why this would randomly happen. Ive never had problems with the firmware or anything. I have felt like there was an issue with the battery being that it doesn't seem to be keeping much of a charge... but for it to just Hard Brick like this seems so out of the blue. Can anyone provide me with additional suggestions please?
Maybe I'll ask it this way...
Is there any way to test if the batteries are food? That way I can at least determine if the tablet is in fact hard bricked or just bad batteries.
Might not be what you want to hear, but if different cables, chargers and batteries don't work, then maybe there was a power surge overnight while the device was plugged into the wall that took out the device (I once lost a computer that way and now I only use surge suppressors (note that not all power bars are proper surge protectors! See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surge_protector ) that are UL 1449 certified with a low clamping voltage and high energy absorption rating as a minimum; the fancier ones can even tell you if your wall outlet has a grounding problem). Or your tablet's USB port is broken, but that doesn't make sense based on what you've said thus far. Or you're just super-unlucky and all of your replacement parts are also faulty (it could happen). Either way, I've got my fingers crossed for you!
In the meantime, a multimeter would be able to tell if the batteries hold a charge, and whether or not power flows to the device when the battery is attached or the device is plugged into the wall or computer.
Just make sure you read up on how to use one first so you don't accidentally electrocute yourself:

Ill definitely be looking into this option in depth tomorrow, and deeply appreciate it. At least it's something. T_T I don't want my tablet going to electro grave. This sucks so bad. This has been a month from hell
First my printer decides its time to start printing crooked over a couple of months, getting so bad that it jams up a few weeks ago, requiring me to get a new printer, which has been a fiasco in and of itself that still hasnt been resolved. Ive gone through 4 printers in one week, all of them different model printers, all from HP, and each and every one of them defective.
Then my laptops video card tweaks out because of installing Splashtop Stream, which starts a domino effect requiring me to do a factory reset on the laptop.
Then my Tablet just decides to kill over.
Then my Microsoft Arc mouse decides it doesn't the want to wheel to work requiring me to purchase a new one, and when I receive it, the cover for the battery compartment is missing and the wheel click is defective. It took 2 and a half weeks to resolve
Then I get bronchitis.
all in less than a month.
Alright, ya... it's dead. Oh well. Here's me trying to make the most of it: are there any places that buy bricked tabs? I figure the parts have to have some sort of salvage value.... maybe.
You can't go to a Samsung service shop? They might not fix it under warranty, but I assume they'll have a look at it and give you an estimation? I feel for you, we all have had these awful weeks... I soft bricked my pad, my computer started to play up, my other computer decided it wanted to die after years of hard work and not skipping a beat, my son got the flu, the missus was on her monthly(grumpy wife..take cover), and when I took a break from it all on the toilet I found that we had run out of paper! To make matters worse, my favorite football team lost from a second division team.. This all happened in one single day! So chin up, it might take a week, but when all it's fixed again you'll experience deep appreciation for the things you have taken for granted.... (xda fixed my tablet, time fixed my wife)

Sry for delayed response.
Im very very doubtful that Samsung will help. I have two more... ideas, before I go to Samsung. Non-invasive of coarse, wouldn't want to make matters worse.
K, So first off I took the tablet with extra battery to a tech place in the area that said the batteries are fine, but when they put a multimeter to the motherboard nothing came back. Basically its dead according to them. There's one more shop in the area I want to get a second opinion from. Next, does anyone know anything about an app called "Splashtop Stream"? I'm a fond user of Splashtop to control/view my computer straight my tablet, but when I installed "Splashtop Stream" to use the tablet as an extended screen (not just a cloned second screen), my tablet and both computers I tried it with did NOT like it. I immediately uninstalled it, but it dawned on me that it was just a matter of days later that my Tablet died. I hate to grasp at straws, but if an app like that is too resource intensive, I'm okay with seeing a connection that it fried my tablet. I can't just ask Splashtop "Hey, does your app fry motherboards", so I need a way of researching legitimate known problems. I can't afford a $400 tablet right now.
The reason why I'm using Samsung as a last resort is because it's outside my warranty time, and the moment they know that I did even the simple fast-mod on it, they'll slap it down and won't help. There no custom boot or Roms on it.
With all this said, any suggestions anyone?

I randomly bumped here and I'm no expert, but if your tablet's motherboard is indeed dead, I believe there is absolutely no way they can tell that the device got rooted at some point. You did not "hard brick" it, that's a whole other thing, or at least so I've learned in my not-very-long experience. "Hard brick" should be the result of flashing a kernel made some other device, which definitely is not your case. Moreover, that does not kill the motherboard, it just makes anything unbootable: it's a software problem, so it can actually be detected. You had a hardware failure that most likely completely wiped any proof that you have ever modified your device, so the only problem that you might have, I think, is them telling you that they take no responsibility for what your power outlet has done to the device, but they shouldn't be able to detect any modification that you have made. In my opinion technical support is worth trying.
Awesome!! Thank you so much!

You're welcome, good luck!
Just thought Id let everyone know that I managed to get Samsung to compromise on the matter since the Tablet is only 5 months past warranty (1yr 5mnths since purchase). So, not much longer and hopefully Ill have a tablet that works yet again.
This a strange one to say the least. I have a Nexus 7, Zenfone 2 ZE551ML and a Padfone-x so I'm certainly an Asus fan and I decided to buy the ZE550 16gb Zenfone 2 for my son. He loves it. I took it from him for a few days and put it in my bedside drawer. Yesterday I took it out to charge it with my THL 5000t charger (this is the same charger I use on my padfone-x without any issues). I left it charging for about 4 hours, tried to switch it on and found a crack in the lower left third that stretches almost all the way across the screen with that purple ink stain blob running up the left side. There is ZERO physical surface damage to the screen. Nothing. Not a scratch or blemish on the outside of the phone, front, back, sides, screen NOTHING.
The screen is blank now when it's "on" and it's also relatively warm. I can only conclude that the phone overheated and damaged the screen. Did a Google search and found something similar with a Zenfone 5 from last year I think. But I've never heard of it apart from that. The phone is less than two months old so it's still covered by Asus USA but the problem is that I'm in Africa and won't be back for another month or more. Unfortunately I get the feeling Asus are going to dispute my problem based on using a thl charger and/or saying I damaged the phone. I've ordered a screen anyway but I'm going to take it up with them tomorrow and see if they step up. Has anyone else encountered this type of issue with any brand before?
I have no issue with other chargers. i have owe many phone.and many chargers. All of them work but without quick charge option
I suppose its possible that the battery got too hot, expanded and cracked the screen but not the panel...
Wow is all I can say. Asus are replacing the phone completely. No quibbling, just a description of the circumstances and the physical condition of the phone along with the serial number. Excellent, excellent customer service. I'm impressed.
Now, since I'm returning it, can someone tell me how to flash/wipe this phone via pc without a screen?
I would say your best bet is to get the phone into fastboot mode and go from there. This is pretty easy since all you have to do is hold the volume up button while it powers on. In fastboot, you can issue commands from your computer while the phone is connected by USB.
Look in the [index] or around the forum for a guide on flashing either stock or something similar and it should go through all the steps of getting ADB/fastboot working and go through the basics of fastboot. If I find the time, I'll try find one for you in case you don't know where to start.

Hello all. I need to replace the micro usb/charging port and battery on my p-600 in the near future. The usb/charging port had a bit of an accident a few weeks ago and charging it is now extremely tricky, replacing the charge port is my only option. I've already removed the rear cover to take a peek at what I was up against and it looks pretty straight forward. But looks can be decieving and my searches for instructions on how to replace the charge port have turned up nothing.
Has anybody relpaced theirs? Any tips? Is it as easy as it looks or is there something I should be aware of. Obviously I don't want to damage my tablet, its a great tablet it just needs its tired 2.5 year old battery & broken charge port replaced
Any suggestions on which battery to get would be helpful too!
Thanks in advance

Actually, Google is notorious for giving different people different search results. So just because it gives you certian results doesn't mean it would give them to me. Thats one of several reasons I don't generally use google as a search engine. I did today as a last resort. Even after my searches on DuckDuckGo (which searches google and yahoo/bing without any invasion of privacy) resulted in nothing. If Google is giving you something its not giving me (not suprising), I would really appreciate a link. I spent 3 hours searching DuckDuckGo, youtube, xda and even though DuckDuckKGo searches them both, I even tried google and bing directly. I opened every search result for about 5 pages of results (and numerous searches with different keyword) and they are all replacement PARTS or instructions for completely different devices, nothing for p600 or one of the varients. Believe me, I would not have posted here unless I exhausted other potential resources first.
There's two ways to open the case, with danger of further damage. Less risky seems to me to remove the back cover and leave the frame in place. That's what the first known person opening his Note did, here in the forum, with pics and in late 2014.
In most subsequent tutorials the frame gets removed.
When removing just the backplate you can definitely replace the battery, but there is a slim plastic bar across the screws holding the usb port. I couldn't tell from the pics whether this bar prevents usage of a screwdriver or not.

Thanks lecorbusier... do you by chance have a link to that thread? I sure couldn't find any threads for it yesterday. That being said, I'm not stressing over it at this point. My concern was more with how the connections on the 3 ribbon cables for the charge port are undone. I just ordered everything on amazon and I stumbled across a few reviews that said the charge port was a 10 minute fix as soon as you get the back off. So like I said, if you have a link, that'd be great. If not, its all good. I'm more mechanically inclined than most (I'm a professional auto tech) so I'll figure it out. I'll probably snap a few pics to put here as well, considering I had trouble finding anything on here. Parts will be here in a few days, so until then...... :fingers-crossed:
I wanted to be sure before buying the device, that I could exchange the battery and usb port, as these are the most vulnerable components, if you don't let it drop etc.
I had the link for some time, the guy even promised to check the screwdriver issue the next time he'd open it. Which he didn't, and the thread died in 2014, but must be still here.
In late 2k13 there weren't even replacement batteries, but the guy unplugged the battery to unbrick the Note several times.
I meant late 2013 in my first post, that was when the Note came out, I always forget that it's that old. Ageing well.
I'm not sure in which sub-subforum of this subforum the thread is, as it was originally about unbricking, may be in here, or the Original Android subforum. A web search in the desktop xda page will make Chrome FC on this here dualcore tablet w/1GB ram. I left my Note at home hundreds of miles away, which can still crunch/render any website, and quickly.

Well , Dear friend , first of all let me tell you about the USB Port ... ( esp. if you haven't found the hardware / replacement guide ) to replace it , you need a replacement hardware which you can buy here as you live in USA ( if you don't have one ) you can search in amazon for more or even better deals ( the one I showed was just an example ... there are other sellers too for example this one is a Chinese one )
alright , now , if you have the hardware , you can install it yourself using this Video or this one
Now let's talk about the Battery replacement ... there are many battery sellers you can find in many shops ... for example I found this which seems to be useful in case you haven't done it and it's also shipped from USA or this one with a very cheaper price ( shipped from USA too ) or maybe this one or even this one for the hardware ... for the replacement , you can try this video ... I think these should help you at least a bit ... if you had any other question , feel free to ask ...

Thanks so much hitman (I like that username lol). I ordered everything from amazon on Saturday, which includes a new battery with toolkit, replacement usb port, a new facctory Samsung charger (package of 2 actually), some heavy duty usb charge cables (that are better than the factory one in my experience with them, set of three for only 6 bucks!) and to top it all off, a few new tips for my spen (my last one is worn to a stub at this point). With expedited shipping, everything was just under $75 US. Coincidentally, I ordered the exact usb port in your link. It should all be here by the 30th. I'll check out the videos before I dig in... thanks for the links, thats what I was looking for. Much appreciated!

Wish you a successful repair ... also , I forgot to recommend you to try the CM 12 / 13 ROMs or if you are a P601 User , to try RR which has the floating and multiwindow support as a built-in feature ... they all give much better battery life ( at least to me ... esp. if you have battery life / charging time problem and the most important , it doesn't annoy you to use AOSP instead of TW ) they also give you much more customization and are more RAM friendly and lighter ... in case you wanted to try , don't forget to make a TWRP full backup so that if you didn't like it , you will be able to return ... if you switched to those ROMs , you can try " Spen Commander " for air command replacement ... and also CM 13 has a multiwindow which you can try ( but AFAIK there were some bugs with the CM13 ROMs like camera ) ... anyway , if you were interested , you can take a look at the P601 CM13 or P601 RR / EOS / CM 12.1 or P600's CM13 or P600's Temasek or P600 LS and there are some more ROMs in the Forume you can search for ...

I didn't know that the capacitive buttons or their LEDs belong to the USB assembly. This should make it neccessary to remove the silver frame to replace usb assy. Please report whether you got thru this w/o breaking anything. The frame looks so crappy, something simply MUST get damaged.

I'm currently on Temasek's unofficial CM13 ROM. The multiwindow is a little buggy for my liking, but otherwise CM13 is a nice well rounded ROM. I use an app called Taskbar which makes for quick and easy switching between different apps. If I need to use floating multiwindows for anything I just restore my nandroid backup of Hyperdrives kitkat ROM. Multiwindow on it simply can't be beat. I haven't tried the LS ROM you gave a link for, I might give it a spin just to check it out. Thanks again :good:

I will snap a few photos of the repair as do it. I'll report any obstacles I find as well as my success as soon as it's achieved :good:
Well, I have successfully replaced my battery and usb charging port. For those who might need to do the same in the future, here is a step by step with some pictures I took while doing mine. Total project time 30 minutes... its really quite easy. It seems you might have to longpress the image icons to see the pictures...
Step 1- Remove SPen and power down tablet. Remove rear cover by prying between screen and cover with a suitable tool or some type of card (credit card, old gift card etc). I started by the usb port and worked my way around. It may take 2 or 3 laps around the outside edge to fully free the rear cover.

View of tablet with rear cover removed-
Step 2- Release the 2 ribbon cables that cross over the battery by gently prying up on the release tabs as seen in the photo below, then pull the ribbons back to remove them from connectors.
Step 3- Remove the 6 screws around the perimeter of the battery and the 2 screws that hold the charging port in place. Be careful not to drop or lose these screws. They are incredibly small (no bigger than the tip of the spen) and if dropped, they will likely disappear forever.
Step 4- Gently pry up on the small connector attached to one side of charging port to release it and repeat for the microphone, which is attached at the other side of the charging port.
Step 5- Remove charging port from tablet by first prying up on it, then pry away from the tablet. NOTE: The small metal hold down bracket will need to be removed from the old charging port and reused with new one. It is glued on, but easily removed
Step 6- Remove the battery by lifting it up out of the tablet into a vertical position above its connector. To release the connecter, apply firm pressure straight up (away from the tablet) on the connector. I had to get my finger under the wires to help the connector pull straight up and out.
Step 7- Install new battery. One of the holes for a locating pin was slightly off, so I had to enlarge the hole slightly for the battery the fully seat. When plugging the battery in, you'll hear the connector snap into place.
Step 8- Install new charge port by reversing the removal procedure above. When connecting its ribbon cable (and the other one, for that matter) first lay it flat then slide it into the connector, making sure it is fully inserted before pushing the locking tabs into place.
Step 9- Reinstall rear cover, it will audibly snap into place. Charge the new battery and celebrate your tablets new lease on life!:highfive::laugh::good::victory:

Thanks for the guide (though I hope I won't need it in the near future )!
I don't see the pictures in a full desktop browser either, something may have gone wrong with that.

I can't seem to get them to display on here. You should be able to longpress them to see them. They're stored on google drive, so just open the link.

Just FYI I fixed the pictures so you can see them now :good:
That's the best documentation af the Note's innards so far. I hoped for something similar from iFixit or any other source in late 2013, but nope. Only the pics in the old XDA thread and the course vid from Newpower99 on disassembly. You shouldn't go in deeper than two millimeters anywhere with a spudger or plastic opener w/o precise knowledge about how it's looking there...
Hi!
After having my SGS4 for 3 years now (Thought it would last alot longer but since Pokemon Go I realized my device is struggling to keep the game running smooth and battery drain is real) I was looking for a "Bang for the buck" phone, so OnePlus 3 came into mind.
Now I've read some reviews and some were more posetive than others, all in all it seems like a great phone, especially for the money.
However, I have some questions I hope you guys can answer.
1. The phone has no expandable SD card, which leaves from what I've read 52,66GB storage for the user to use. Is this partitioned or is it just whats left after Oxygen OS? In other words, will this change between ROMS? Whats your experience with this if you before this device got used to having SD slot?
2. I've read about GPS/Signal issues here, this is just software related right? (As it seems from other threads I've read).
3. It also seems that Sources have been released for OP3, which means development will be supported for a long time, am I correct here?
4. Some reviews said OIS function was really lacking, is it software or hardware issue? Is it lacking at all?
5. On SGS4 the screean has smearing (The blue pixels light slower than the other pixels, which gives smearing effect). Does OP3 have similar issue? (AFAIK it uses a Samsung AMOLED display)
6. Any hardbrick commands to avoid? (Like bootloader erase command for Nexus 7, and please do NOT find it out for me if you don't know, bricking your phone as result)
7. Is the fingerprint reader anything other than a reader, like is it a button or capacitive button?
8. How is using USB type C in a world full of MicroUSB?
9. Battery is not "swappable" but what I've seen it's pretty easy to replace if you open up the phone, do you think it will be changable or is the battery any "special edition" (Like SGS4 has built in NFC in it's battery).
10. If anyone have had SGS4 before, general comparision, I suspect about everything will be better with OP3. So to turn it around, what was better on the SGS4?
Thats all for now.
Just put corresponding number infront of your answer, if you want to anwser specific questions.
Thanks in advance and hopefully it will make me an OP3 owner

1. In other words it acts as a sdcard. Only downside for me (have been used to have removable sd card) is that I can't use my usb card reader no more and can't swap cards + in future some expansion would surely come handy, but for now I am completely satisfied with those 52 gigs. As it is much much larger than on my previous phone
2. Absolutely no issues here. I am using OP3Lite custom ROM based on stock Oxygen 3.2.1
3. Dunno, hope so.
4. Honestly, don't know. I didn't test a camera that much, and can't even compare with other OIS devices. But from my point of view it is working fine.
5. I think I know what you mean. I can see it when set display brightness to minimum in a really dark room. But when you set it juust a bit above the minimum (which is really low in my opinion) then it disapears.
6. Dunno.
7. It is also a capacitive home button. Working flawlessly for both usage.
8. Easy peasy, when you buy Micro USB -> USB C Adapter
9. Dunno.
10. No idea.
Using this phone for about a month and loving it since the day one. Problably the only thing I hate is that I can't get satisfying screen protector, which this device deserves. Just because of that tiny curved edge... It feels very nice when the phone is naked, but also impossible for tempered glass screen protector to cover the whole screen... And when it does, it really decreases display readibility... But thats just accessories, phone itself is great
Hopefully this will help a little bit.

I've had this device now for a little over a week. I want to have it's babies. Love this device. I actually don't even hate the oxygen OS BC it's close to pure Android.
Good camera.
Battery gives me an avg of 6.5-7 SOT. Which is just stupid since it has a 3000 mAh battery. Just turn off the silly gestures. They kill battery BC it keeps the device awake.
The phone is ridiculous fast.
The only downside for me is the screen isn't quad HD. Its 1080p. At first I thought I'd notice but I really don't. Obviously text isn't as crisp as quad but its a good screen.
Overall there isn't much about this device I can gripe about.
This is my first OnePlus device and it's <3

So, answering my own questions, as I got my device yesterday:
1. Havent checked if storage changes depending on rom, or if it is partitioned. But yeah, there's OTG.
2. GPS signal is like a dream compared to my old SGS4, using GPS only in Pokemon GO it folows my location very accuratly.
3. Judging by the forum development is very well alive on this device, so I would assume we will get development for a long time ahead.
4. Havent tested, but checking several videos, OIS is a little lacking compared to other top models such as Galaxy S7, but improves stability alot compared to non OIS cameras.
5. No screen smearing from what I can see on this device, resulting in much clearer image while scrolling.
6. Have not tested. I suggest avoiding any command related to delete and bootloader in the same line.
7. Fingerprint reader is a capacitive home button. However, the button does not turn on the screen when pressed (Like samsung home button does).
8. Seen alot of USB-c to Micro USB adapters out there, for simple charging most should work. For data i havent tested yet.
9. Battery seems pretty easy to swap by checking teardown videos. It also looks like the NFC chip is not on the battery, but beneath the Camera lens.
10. Only thing better in SGS4 would be Micro SD, temperature and IR. Otherwise everything is way better on OP3.
I would recommend this phone, giving it a solid 8.5/10 rating.
Regards.

1. I Love the storage as it is, came from a 32 GB Nexus, this is a dream.
2. No strange things here and I use it for running personal records with Endomondo app so it's important to me. Maybe not as accurate as the 6p, maybe.
3. I bought the device because of that so let's hope for the best
4. Don't know, focus sucks on custom Roms though
5. Yes, yes, yes, I cried a little cause I sold the 6p because of smearing and when i switched the op3 I saw it right away, it's bad and it's a gamble with AMOLED some units are better then other. For me it's the only let down of this phone.
6. Don't know, only used fastboot OEM unlock, fastboot format user data and fastboot flash recovery. That's all you need
7. Capacitive but it will wake the screen despite the person above told you. It's also a home button and you can set about 8-10 custom commands in oxygen and a lot more on custom Roms.
8. It's okay as long as my OnePlus charger is fine
