hi.
i update my htc desire hd via ota version android 2.3 from 2.2, after upgrading my phone i am facing many problem in gingerbread 2.3
Like "when i open message its automatically closed and got error message and I try fromating phone serval time but didnt happen anything and even i cannot play games in phone.some appliocations are closed by getting message "force to close"
so is their any way to downgrade my htc desire phone from 2.3 to 2.2

How do I update to 2.2 when I do OTA about half away through the green bar stops and goes red then the phone reboots phone was on Orange but is unlocked and rooted with super user perms can some please post how to update to 2.2 with guide and links

If I used OTA update without root,how to fix it?
my HBOOT now is 0.92,is impossible to root it?anyway to change it to 0.8?
Radio ROM update guide needed
I have downloaded an updated radio rom ready to install 2.2 but I cant install it the phone stops when pluged into PC any clues

Nope, you're stuffed until someone works out how to break in to the new HBoot, which may be soon, or may be never.
You should have read the forums first.
OK I have updated Radio ROM and Installed 2.2 all working great I love it. Use the guide/download links posted on the second thread thanks for that
To recap I had HTC Desire locked to Orange now unlocked and fully working with 2.2 update NOTE the first time I installed the 2.2 update the phone crashed at boot up had to reinstall it so be warned

hi guys please help me i am pulling my hair out, I have a htc desire from germany via a parrelell importer, i recently tried updating to froyo ota my phone is unbranded and not rooted, how ever now when i start it i get a message saying system failure force close/wait, i have made a gold card, and placed roms on etc but it doesnt seem to reconize them on sd card and says signature failure, also before that while in reocvery it comes up with e:cant open /cache/recovery/command,
im at a dead end please some one help me i will love u long time!
I think you Desire is unbranded, can you use sim cards from different carriers?
If yes no goldcard is needed
Hello there! Well, I made the switch from WM to Android and am loving it. Now it's time for some tweaking though, and I wonder if I can root an Android phone (HTC desire specifically) which is running FroYo 2.2.
I downloaded unrevoked 3.1 and keep getting the 'failed to flash rom' error after the reboot. I have tried this on a Mac and on a PC running XP SP3, both with the same error. Does this mean it simply doesn't work on Froyo 2.2 or I'm doing something wrong?
Any help would be gratefully received!
Presuambly you have stock 2.2. From what I understand, this also upgrades hboot to 0.92, which cannot currently be rooted. To root, you must downgrade hboot back to 0.80. Try the link below, a guide on how to downgrade

I just installed froyo 2.2 without root. I tried the uninstall techniques to downgrade but it didn't work, giving me a Main version error. Is there a way I can root froyo 2.2 directly?
My recovery seems abit glitchy and flashes the htc screen sometimes and fails to load at times

No, there's no method for 2.2 yet. Use the downgrade tool, it's floating around here.

You have to downgrade your HBOOT version to 0.8x first. There are some post floating in this forum, you can have a look.
i had recently downgraded my HTC legend using RUU and "crackin.bat" ADB tools
i had the vodafone UK rom froyo and now i have HTC unbranded eclair.
i'm trying to update to froyo 2.2 with OTA update but when i run the update the phone restarts as normal, begins installing then fails showing a red triangle with exclamation sign!
help please... i have made a gold card

On the new HTC desire developer update 2.3.3 when I execute unrevoked 3.32, I have this error message: "Error failed to get root. Is your firmware too new ?"
Do you have tested other tool with this update to root the HTC desire last update ?

yep, htc mess this up totaly, 2.3.3 with 1.9 cuz desire wont handle 2.1? they just have noob develop.team or they just dont want to put desire to higher level
at this point dont update to 2.3.3 with official RUU cuz it cannot be rooted
