[Q] Incredikernel and sense roms - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm switching between Virtuous ROM and CM7. Incredikernel works great on both. I see plenty of updates for incredikernel with ASOP ROMS but only the 12/10 sense kernel I'm using for Virtuous. Are there any updates to Chad's sense kernel's? I couldn't find the answer by doing a search.

Taken from the Incredikernel Development Thread:
2.6.37 ARE AOSP ONLY - SENSE HAS GRAPHICAL ISSUES THAT HAVE YET TO BE FIGURED OUT. THE BUG IS ACROSS MULTIPLE DEVICES AND IS MORE COMPLICATED THAN ORIGINALLY THOUGHT. IT IS BEING WORKED ON. USE 2.6.32 (12/23) ON SENSE ROMS.

CM7 kernels

What kernels can be used with CM7, any AOSP?
In general, any kernel that worked with cm6 should would with cm7. Here's a list of the different kernel options for cm6 and how the compare to each other:

[Q] 3-5 pt. multitouch enabled GingerSense kernel??

Is there one? I'm currently running Chad's 12/23 on a custom Froyo ROM, and really want to switch over to a Gingersense ROM, but when I flashed the leaked stock Gingerbread ROM it wouldn't boot with the 12/23 kernel. There aren't really any other Sense kernel's here anymore that aren't very outdated, and Chad's thread says that his latest Gingerbread kernel's don't play well with Sense.
Can anyone point me to a kernel that has multitouch enabled and works fine on Gingerbread with Sense?
For the Q & A Forum.
No, not until the official GB with Sense source is released.
The only kernel that'll work with GingerSense right now is the one it comes with. HTC hasn't dropped the source code for GB sense kernels yet. Once they do, there will be a bunch of custom kernels out there for us.

Chad @incredikernel said that he may work on a kernel for gingersense next week.

[q] synergy rom + kernel

I've been using the new Synergy ROM for a few days now and everything is awesome, but I really want to flash a better kernel. I'm not sure if I should be using a kernel using BFS or CFS and am unsure which would be best suited for the ROM. I'm still calibrating my battery, but I want my battery to be at its max capacity. Any suggestions?
Note: used heyitslou while on the Warm Z ROM but I don't know how well his kernels will hold up with a ROM that has a lot of sense 3.0 elements.
There are no kernels available that are compatible with gingersense roms. We only have the one kernel from our test gingerbread leak until or rather if HTC releases the official gingerbread ota for our phones. That is when kernel development will expand for gingersense roms.

[Q] Question about AOSP roms please.

Hi guys, ive been trying to find AOSP roms for the Desire but seems they are in much less numbers than sense roms.
Are AOSP roms a good option? Do they provide better performance than sense ones, and is there any AOSP rom that keeps getting updates and support Data2SD? Thank you very much.
I think that there are less AOSP ROMs because most people want Sense.
But usually, AOSP ROMs gives better performace, battery life and are more stable, since they don't have all the extra stuuf that is includad in Sense.
They are the best option IMO if you can live without Sense.
AOSP ROMs are made directly form Android source code (Redux, Oxygen, dGB, Devnull) or CM and the ROMs based on it (as for example GingerVillain, or MIUI, which at least was based on CM7 in its first versions)
About Data2sd, the only ROM that have it included is MIUI XJ XPart, but I think it would be possible to manually add the D2SD script to any ROM
Everything he said I switched over from sense and will never look back, you get better performance, better customizing of the RoM, MIUI has a built in theme manager witch let's you change everything you want. Better battery life not having sense killing battery.
You dont like you can always go back to sense
Since i have rooted my desire i only have used AOSP roms, great roms are Oxygen, CM7, GingerVillain
Now i am on GingerVillain it has support to Data2SD, It has OTA (Villain Setup Application) updates for various stuff of the rom, and with the 3.1 HAVS 1113Mhz + CFS kernel installed through OTA the battery lasts 2-3 days.

Modify Virtuous Unity or Sense to use kernel only (or some features)

Hi guys,
I really long try to find a good (and working!!!) OC/UV kernel for my desire z.
Now i tried Viruous Unity and Sense, but there is too much bloat in my opinion.
Now i really want to use that kernel only with its oc and uv features to save battery and gets the device a bit faster.
The unity mod is too big and fills up my intern memory that i get at least 50MB memory free...
Thats a real problem.
Can anyone help me to solve this? To help me to modify the virtuous mod?
With pershoot it will not boot or after boot system will not respond and the phone sticks.
I running HTC stock rom 2.30... With eng-hboot full s-off permroot. If questions needed ask..
Hope for answers. Thanks a lot

Before everyone shows up with their pitchforks, I'm going to try to help you.
1. HTC Sense ROMs only with with "Sense" kernels (e.g. Unity, Virtuous, RCMiX)
2. AOSP kernels will not work properly with Sense based ROMs (e.g Pershoot, CM, Tiamat, ILWT)
3. Pretty much *Any* ROM is compatible with the Virtuous OC Daemon, or Tsubus' ILWT OC Daemon.
4. OC/UV Beater isn't the overclocking daemon, it's simply used to CONFIGURE and CONTROL the OC daemon.
Based on what I *think* you're trying to say you need, you should stick with Virtuous Vision 2.0, but try using it with an alternative launcher (like LauncherPro or Go Launcher) which will improve your experience (the default Sense launcher "Rosie" is pretty heavy). You may also try heading over to tsubus' ILWT thread, and find the link for his "ILWT OC Daemon". Install it, and you may notice a difference.
If you're looking for speed, use an AOSP ROM (CM7, ILWT, Glite, MIUI) and stay as far away as possible from Sense 3.x ROMs. Hope that helps.
Also, wrong section brah.
Ok in other words: as long as i do not flash a custom rom i cant use oc/uv.
But if i don't like the custom roms there is no chance.
Or is there any AOSP Rom available which looks like the stock rom with Sense 2.x?
Because all the roms looks like the samsung layout.
