I went to my local VZW Corporate store to pick up an extended battery. To my surprise, they were sold out. I inquired about the inductive charging back, the salesman thought it was in but no dice. He tried selling me a quick charge pack but I turned him down.
I was just surprised to hear that the battery was sold out and maybe that's a bad thing. It tells you just how demanding this phone is of it's battery. I'm currently running BAMF Remix with IMO's lean kernel and it does well. I average around 5 hours awake time and 14 -15 hours off the charger.
I also work in an office where my signal is -65 to -75db. Today I was out of the office bringing up a remote site on a point-to-point connection and my battery went to hell in a hand-basket filled with lead. I was only 11 hours off the charger and 3 hours awake when the battery hit 5%.
Anyway, I ended up going home and ordering it online. This perplexes me because the VZW sales agent tried to order one for me but said there were none in stock. Maybe corporate stores have a different pool to order from? I dunno but I find it silly that I can order an item with overnight shipping online yet they can't do the same thing in store.
My battery has shipped, hopefully I'll see it tomorrow!
i too have a local verizon store also sold out of them.
but idk what to choose to be honest.
ive seen some that are only 200mAh more and some that are 2750mAh (needs the extended back door)
i know the 2750mAh will be more than the 1600mAh, but what i want to know is how much will the simple 1600mAh battery boost the usage hours?
I love the form factor of the TBolt and was thinking of ordering a slim extended battery. I recently received the 2750mah battery from VZW, had to order on line, and I am making it through a full day with no problem. It doesn't stick out that bad, but it is noticeable. I am surprised that VZW has not created a slim extended battery. I think they know that all 4g phones will use a lot of battery regardless of how big the battery is. On my DX with the 1840mah extended battery and 3g service I could go 1 1/2 with no problem. Hopefully future updates will fix the battery issues.
IMO, get the extended battery from VZW. At least you will not have to worry about your battery dieing or toggling from 3g-4g.
I believe that the Seidio 1600 is = TBolt stock battery. There are different ways of rating batterires and Seidio tends to go with the theoretical maximum where as HTC offers a more realistic and accurate reading.
There will be a handful of lucky people who get batteries that consistently hold 1600mAh but there's also people who will see no difference and some who will see worse.
Get the HTC 2750 and be done with it.
Even if the ratings were pure fact, a 1600mAh battery is only 14% more than the stock one, your 11 hour day would have extended to only 12.5 hours, so 1600mAh is still bad math. The 2750mAh would give almost 100% more life for >20% higher cost over the 1600.

Some users will qualify for a corporate discount from Verizon depending on their employer. I picked up the 2750 for $37 which is a fantastic deal IMHO.
availability
I just bought the extended battery from the verizon-wireless site the night before last. It is available there.
Does anyone know the return policy for accessories from Verizon?
I believe the return policy is 15 days.
You can get it online http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store/accessory?action=selectPhone&phoneId=5605&archetypeId=12517

So i found this NORMAL sized extended battery on ebay. It has 1700mah opposed to the 1400 mah the factory one has. I have the verizon extended battery and it works great but, IT IS HUGE and there are no decent cases. So for $15 bucks i gave it a shot. When i get it ill let you know if the 300mah makes a difference.

If I am not mistaken...there are threads on this battery and some people didn't find that much of a difference....but each phone is different..
I have the extended battery.....I have a silicone skin that I cut to fit the extended batter cover and then I bought a holster for it...works AWESOME
I didn't see a thread for this specific battery. I cut the case also, and it falls off every time i put it in my pocket drives me crazy lol. Something has to give a 2in thick phone doesn't do it for me. Plus that battery is heavy. So lets see how this cheap battery does
There's a thread somewhere about an independent test from "battery man" or something of the like.
He's stated that these batteries are often rated higher than whey they actually are, like 1700 actually being a 14 something. I'll see if I can find it. It was an interesting read.
Here you go.

It's not a 1700 mAh battery. It's a battery with a 1700 mAh sticker on it. With all the complaints about battery life, and the rumors that the TB was delayed while they worked to improve it, HTC would have gone with a higher capacity battery if one were available in a suitable size.
I got a couple of "1500 mAh" batteries and a charger from Hong Kong for $9 from ebay. They seem to work about the same as the OEM, enough to get me through a day (no 4G here, yet).
Some others had purchased these. If you run Battery Monitor Widget, it tells you how many mAh your battery is, it reports the correct 2750 for my extended, but on these 1700's it reported 1350.
I just need to come out and say it. A battery is a battery, you can't get a huge amount more of mah out of a battery that is the same size. There is no amazing battery that can hold 30% more energy and be the same size. You can increase capacity by taking out circuits, thinning the wall, and optimizing space in the battery but you can't make it tons higher. These batteries promoting themselves and so much more charge in the same package are a scam.
I've been posting on threads on these "1700mAh" batteries because I dislike the company that makes these ads. Its false advertising.
The story is that the seller already had "1500mAh" batteries on Amazon for the MyTouch 4G. Then when the TB came out he listed them on Amazon for the TB advertising them as 1500mAh. A week later he raised the price from $35ish to $50ish for 2 batteries and changed the title to state that its a 1700mAh battery.
For a short period of time people purchased this "1700mAh" battery for the TB. When they received it the sticker still stated 1500mAh. Then later people started getting the batteries with the stickers saying "1700mAh"
Summary: False advertising. Do not buy. Exactly the same as the $3-5 eBay batteries, so SAVE YOUR MONEY

No one is being negative. They're just trying to let you know that you're getting scammed. Even if it was actually 1700 mah you'd get what, a extra hour out of it?
i have this battery and i got to say ain't worth it unless you want an extra battery just like the one that comes with the tbolt...

There's a setting where you can change the capacity. My stock battery read 1350 also.
With that said, I bought these 1700 mah batteries and they are worse than stock. I guess it's a decent price for two extra batteries and a charger, but they suck. They dont extend anything.
i have tried this battery, it is the same, if not worse then the OEM battery.
I bought two of these 1700 mah batteries with a charger a few days ago. I only paid about $26 after shipping so we'll see how well they do. I'm not expecting miracles, I just need one to leave at the office and one for home. If my battery dies, I can still use my phone.

you would probably be better off just flashing a kernel/rom that isn't all bloated and is more energy efficient. Ever since flashing the perfect storm rom my battery life was better. Flashed CM7 when the prealpha came out and its even better.
I'm on the Twisted Sense rom with the bamf_4.3b kernel. I have no complaints with the rom or kernel. My battery drain comes from me never putting the phone down.

My extended batteries came in yesterday. I charged them and carried one today. My phone had drained by about 2:00 pm so I popped in one of my new ones. It's 8:30 and I'm at 69%. I wont say that I'm getting fantastic battery life, but it's fair. I did use navigation and I browsed the web a bit. After around 5 pm, I was on wifi so I'm sure that helped. For $26, I don't think I made a bad deal.

Don't bother. I have that same battery, it's crap. It barely lasts longer than the stock battery.
Ive been seeing those batteries around at local cell shops. I really dont feel too cozy with buying batteries like those. Wonder how good the quality is on them. My friend got one similar on ebay a while back ago but he regularly switches over from that one to the stock battery for some odd reason.
Yeah they are okay and will last you longer then your stock, but life wise they will live a short life and be prone to overheating and possibly even exploding. That price sounds like its to good to be true only because it is. Spend the extra money and get a sprint or seidio battery which will actually last you.
I got one of those, has to go through 5 charge cycles before it has the added kick... I don't mind the fact that it is a cheap one, all I care is that it lasts longer than the stock one... if it has a shorter life than the $50 ones, I don't care, I can just buy another one.

I bought these batteries but I found it much more relaxing to walk around with 2 M80's is each pocket.
Looks like the one I got from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/4G-3500mAh-Ex...Y68C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1328647358&sr=8-1
Getting worse and worse after each charge, no barely lasting the day. Has same problem as stock. As soon as you pull it off the battery charger BAM, down to 98% then downhill from there.
Anker FTW!!!!
They make great quality batteries.
I bought one of the 3500mah batteries and am getting great battery life. With CM7 and savagedzen I'm getting at least a full day with gps always on. I've gone as long as 48 hours without charging and still had life.

How heavy is your use? And are you using a external charger or via your phone?
I would think you would be getting better life than that, What was your use on the phone?
I, like many of you, have been looking for ways to extend the battery life on the galaxy nexus. The particular route I have taken was to purchase some after market batteries off eBay. The intention was to purchase extra batteries and always have 1-2 fully charged ready to use when I'm out or when I'm planning to use the hotspot function extensively.
I hope by sharing my experience it helps at least some of you in choosing the right option. I will be updating this thread over the next week or so.
So here we go.
Capacity: 1900mAh
Brand: Unbranded
eBay item title: 2X 1900mAh Battery + Home Charger for Google Samsung Galaxy Nexus Prime I9250
Cost: $10 for 2 batteries and 1 charger
I have no relation to the seller, and to avoid any reasonable doubt, I'm not including any links to the item. You are free to buy or not from any sellers online.
The batteries came nicely packaged. The batteries fit perfectly into my i9250, standard cover, no modifications needed.
The charger is the slow type (i.e. overnight charger), and I had to leave the batteries in it for 5+ hours to reach full charge. This is a plus (to me) since slow charging is more gentle on batteries, but it does mean that you will probably want two chargers so the batteries can be charged in parallel if you are a heavy user.
Batteries didn't heat up noticeably during the charge.
After charging completed, I placed it in the phone and it showed 100% charge for 30+ minutes.
I have had it in the phone for four hours and with fairly heavy usage it's now down to 86%. For some reason my stock battery never seem to do this well, I would have been down to ~70% by now normally.
Update 1: I have used the batteries in a normal work day and here are the findings.
Aftermarket Battery 1: uptime 14 hours from 100% to 14%
Aftermarket Battery 2: uptime 10.5 hours from 100% to 16%
All in all I'm pretty happy with the results given the price and the fact that screen time was >5 hours in both cases, and that the OEM batteries performed similarly.
Update 2:
OEM battery: uptime 13.9 hours from 100% to 13%
So I guess that's it for now. These aftermarket batteries do seem to perform similarity to the OEM stock battery (sans NFC). I'd definitely recommend them, as personally I prefer carrying an extra battery over purchasing an extended one since it does add bulk and heft, and doesn't really double the run time unless you go for the 3500mAh category which is even bigger.
Feel free to ask me any questions, I will try my best to answer them here.
Great review, thanks.
This review was the decider for me whether or not I wait for the 2012 phones to come out, or get the galaxy nexus early - GN won hands down. I am about to order the same batteries from China; they're a lot cheaper than what my service provider has to offer!
They are indeed a good deal. Just one thing that I want to re-emphasize - NFC is not supported with these batteries.
I'm fine with this as Google Wallet is not available in Canada, but it is something you may want to consider.
I just got this charger and battery kit. USB charging on the charger is a nice addition. I'm testing these batteries now, but plan on only using them in an emergency, so it's a great deal.

EP2008,
After I received the batteries I just charged it using the supplied charger until the light turned blue. I didn't power cycle the battery or do anything special.
Let me re-run the tests again and see how they compare now.
5 hours total run time does seem very short.
I was running AOKP before and running LiquidSmooth + Franco kernel now, but I guess as long as we use the Samsung OEM battery as control it shouldn't matter.
Will report back in a few days.
ignign0kt, no I don't have this battery, but I'd be interested in a review as well.
I have purchased these same type of batteries for my vibrant and they were great. About same runtime as stock battery and I would carry 2 or 3 around with me at all times. They seemed to work a little better after a few full charge cycles. Only thing is they do not last as long as the OEM battery as far as the number of recharges. That being said I got around 9 months of daily charges out of them and by that time they start to get a little beat up and worn from hanging out in my pocket all that time any way. So I think its well worth it.... $10 every 6 months to a year I think is better than $80 for a 3500mAh battery to me. I never keep a phone more than 2 years so I might have $30 tied up in batteries over that time. And having 3 batteries to swap out I can easily make it over 24 hours away from an outlet.
I will be buying these soon for my GN. I just got it last friday so still breaking in the oem battery and will see how many "spares" I will need to buy for it in the next couple weeks.
So I cycled the batteries a few times and they are better, but still not close to three performance I get from the stock battery. I'm not to bothered by i though as these are really only for an emergency and would be rarely needed.

I was wondering what brand I should get to top that, since, I bought this phone in hopes to get better battery life to begin with...
The best regular battery is going to be the OEM (factory manufactured straight from Samsung). At least that is my experience.

Here is a link to the standard 1800 mAh battery for the Black Sprint E4GT
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/EB625152VABSTD
Keep in mind: It'll run you $40.
Battery might vary a little if you have Boost or a white E4GT, but probably not. Just something to consider.
I would advice you to skip the more expensive OEM option and read this thread:

So for 25$ with shipping you get 2 Anker batteries, which have received great reviews, and an extra charger. It's rated the same capacity as the OEM 1800 batteries.

Unfortunately the most ET4G users don't get great battery life, but you should get at least 12 hours out of an Anker battery with heavy phone use. I easily get 20 hours on my lighter usage days. I keep the spare battery in my pocket (it's small, i barely notice it) in case I run out, although it's quite infrequent..
I have tried a 2300 and a 2100 battery. I got better life out of the 2300 but it crapped out within a month causing random reboots. The 2100 was just a straight up lie and I think its really a 1500 but it works great as a 2nd battery and it came with a charger for cheap. I have another battery on the way 1800 Samsung, probably a fake too since it was $4 but here is the thread link I had ebay bucks to use and don't mind gambling for a possible killer deal.

Guys I really need to buy a new battery for my Galaxy Nexus gsm i9250
I am not looking for oem replacements but extended battery of about 3500 (the higher the capacity the better) mah or more from 3rd party manufactures.
I want a battery which will last a long time not a cheap chinese knock-off. Nfc dosent matter cause i dont use it and probably never will.
Also I am also looking for an external charger cause i will keep more than one battery. I've had a bad experiance with cheap external chargers destroying my batteries
Since amazon and ebay dont ship to my country I am going to use an importing service which will add to the costs. So i want my first experience buying online to be good
Amazon links are preferred and thanks in advance
The problem with those good quality batteries is that they cost more than the phone is worth :/ You can buy a used Galaxy Nexus for ~50$ while the good extended batteries cost more than that. I just went for a cheap Chinese one for less than 20$. It says 3800 mAh but the real capacity seems to be rather around 3000 mAh, judging by how it performs.
I too was looking at getting an extended life battery, but for me $ wasn't the issue, size and reliability were more concerning.
Then few months ago I got 1 on those USB power sticks as a gift and it's been really helpful whenever I've needed a recharge when I'm out or forget and don't have time to wait to charge up via wall charger.
Now only issue is that for the post few months it's been cold out and the stick is stored easily in my jacket, but not sure I'll enjoy carrying it as much in my jeans pocket.
I had a bad experience with a mtec 3800mAh the price was convenient (10€) and I also found good opinion about this battery. But when I use this battery the smartphone turn off themselves with a 30-40% residual battery... And if I reboot it the battery percentage is very low 3-4%. I don't know if the battery is falled or maybe I have to set some parameters.
LolliGNexus
I'm using a qcell 3800mah battery and getting good results. The battery section usually shows 6 to 7 hours of screen usage before the low battery warning cuts in. If I don't use the phone much, I can finish out the day with 70% or more remaining.
It is a bit heavier, but the stock battery is total garbage.

Here you go, apparently it's twenty bucks with the back case. I also bought the rubber bumper from amazon for a few dollars. Now that I realize that's half the value of the phone, it's a bit concerning. However, it beats dropping $650 on a new nexus or HTC phone.

a case that fits the extended battery back (apparently, the trexcell case I had is now unavailable): http://www.amazon.com/Hyperion-Exte...806985&sr=1-6&keywords=i9250+extended+battery
Now that I'm running nephilim's settings on Cm remix+smitty superram kernel it's really humming along quite nicely. Occasionally there are a few hiccups, but battery life is incredible. My wife's nexus 5 requires constant charging, I can use mine all day and not plug in until I go to bed at midnight.

I paid $25 back in april of 2013. I am routinely seeing the batteries for this phone go into the discontinued/unavailable phase, as I would expect (I have only seen one other Galaxy Nexus in the wild in 3 years. )
My best advice would be to scour eBay and see if you get lucky. Amazon is sporadic on keeping older electronics stocked.
Some screen grabs I did since I forgot to charge my phone last night.
Nearing 6 hours of screen-on time with 25% remaining.
Not too shabby for a phone that is what, four years old? Either way it has served me well and will hopefully have some more time to go until it finally dies.
