[Q] fixing broken screen - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have broken my screen but can still use phone. Is it easy to diy fix or dangerous??

It's not easy, there is a video on youtube showing how: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JfatoeWbMRk&feature=youtube_gdata_player
You can call HTC and ask for them to repair it. It cost about US$145.00...

HTC One X Singapore product launch

Hi all, been to the product launch for HTC one series in Singapore this morning. Sad to say, they will not be bringing in the One S, so only One X and One V are available for all 3 major telcos.
Hands on the One X really have the premium feel like what other forumers described. The country sales manager actually threw or drop his phone several times on stage to prove the durability. As much as it is scratch proof, it is not scratch resistant. You do may get scratch marks if both the angle and force is right. The curve edge of the gorilla glass at the side do resembles the Nokia lumia to answer the questions for some.
I am really impressed by the speed of the camera and the OS. Tried the picture taking while taking videos. The picture quality I would say may not be ideal to some. Focus can be poor due to low light.
Fortunately, they are giving us S$100 off for the phone in a limited period. And if we order in the next few days, they are giving the DLNA link for free! Lucky I didn't miss that out!!
I believe I have missed out several points but do let me know if you want to find out more.

Yes you were able to play with it. Besides that, I happen to hear the country manager answering some questions and he did mentioned that in any case your phone hangs, press both the volume and power button and it should restart the phone.

help Touch screen automatically working in standbye

Sent from my HTC Desire Z using xda app-developers ap
Help any one ,my desire g2 touchscreen is automatically working without any touches.when relock d screen it work normally.I changed so many custom roms but same problem.
First, a few things that should be clarified in my opinion: Did the error occur suddenly or after you did something? How old is your phone?
To me, it sounds like the well-known issue with the connector cable degrading. To my knowledge, it connects screen and digitizer to the rest of the phone and is known to cause the digitizer to go wild. The easiest and least expensive would be replacing that cable.

think you need a new flex cable, you can buy one eBay for about £8 but make sure you buy the tool also to open your phone. You will need to try and find someone to open your phone up for you or carefully do it yourself and follow a tut on YouTube as you can mess your phone up even more like I have

[SOLVED][Q] Flex cable that looses contact?

Hello guys, so after a year of life my Xperia Play seems to have problems.
Here a video:
http://tinypic.com/r/2iikbrp/5
I guess it is the flex cable, but I dunno if it does this because it is starting damaging, or because it looses contact (and maybe doesn't need a replace, but just a look into where it looses contact and thus I should apply there something that keeps it in place).
What do you think guys?

Few other users reported same problem, and it was flex cable fault.
You better get another flex slider cable before it totally looses contact (and thus can be replaced in hour or two, if you know how)
If you don't know how to replace, ask around where you can repair it, so it doesn't suprise you when fail completelly

I'm searching for a new flex cable right now, but, well, I live in Italy, where it's impossible to get even a cover
I'll try to order something from the States or UK, but yeah, it'd take something like 20 days
I hope I get it fixed, i love this phone D:

Rear camera is attached motherboard on it's own flex cable. Did you take it off when opening your Play? If yes, then probably you didn't put it back properly. Or maybe it missplaced.
Try opening again (just motherboard part and see is flex from camera is loose or something

Unless you drop your Play hard, it should work normally. If it's taking picture normally, maybe it's software problem.
On what rom and kernel you are now? Maybe, to test, make backup and flash stock ftf, to see is it sofware problem (i think i don't need to explain to you how to do that )

Lol I've just "logcatted" and so I saw an error regarding framerates.
Then I remembered what I've done something like a week ago: modified the media_profiles file located into system/etc for trying to record at 60fps LOL
Such a stupid problem, sorry Bakisha xD

Just be carefull, especially when assembling it back. For me, it took me 3 hours, two coffee, half pack of cigarets (and lot of gossips :silly: , since i did it at friends place)
If you can, take pics while dissasembling (just in case)
