http://www.repairsuniverse.com/htc-inspire-4g-earpiece-speaker-replacement.html

I believe the two phones are identical in design and hardware so theoretically it should work.
You might wanna wait for someone who can confirm this though.
Good luck

Malfunctioning in-call audio!

Greetings fellow believers... I have a Dash that I've been working on for my brother. It was bought off of eBay and everything works on it but the in-call speaker. If you place the phone on speakerphone, you can hear the other caller speaking. However, if you place the phone on the normal mode you can't hear anyone talking to you. It's quite the annoyance, seeing as how everything else works except the in-call audio! It used to run the T-Mobile WM6.0 ROM but I changed it to the HTC 1.33 ROM in hopes of correcting the dilemma. No cigar. Then I flashed Kavana's WM6.1 080408 ROM on it and the speaker still won't work. Any suggestions?
P.S. The phone is no longer under warranty, so I can't get a replacement phone. (I checked)
Is there any way to repair the speaker? I've searched for how-to videos on YouTube to no avail.
There probably won't be a tutorial, best bet is to find the teardown instructions and swap the speaker out as this sounds like a hardware problem.
I have a dash that won't charge anymore so if you can't get this resolved I may be interested in picking it up IF it will hold charge and swapping speakers doesn't work for you.
Good luck!

Swapping the speaker sounds like a viable option. Where would I go to search for replacement speakers for a Dash/Excalibur??? I'm not aware of any sites with replacement parts. Heck, I don't even know if it's definitely the speaker that's causing the in-call audio to malfunction!
Speaker available
do a search on ebay for HTC Excalibur Speaker, i found one just now

Travel speakers

Hi!
Hope you guys can help me.
I´m going out travelling next month and now i´m looking for some good travelling speakers for my Rhodium. I´ve been looking around, but the most i found are made for iPhone.
So now I´m asking if someone knows if it exists similiar for HTC?
And not the tiny ones with crappy sound?
Blutooth, usb, 3,5mm? Come with suggestions, please.
(Sorry for bad english)
[Edit]Someone tried the Altec Lansing inMotion IM4?
Most probably too late. I use Nokia MD-4 on my HTC. It's 3.5mm plug end. They are quite powerful for size, and sound nice. A huge improvement on my internal HTC speakers.
got creative travelsound they work ok if you don't want super loud sound

I got this one. This is by far the best portable speaker. It's very small yet you hear the bass (because of the extendable feature) perfectly and full.
I guarantee you that you won't regret buying this speaker.
By the way, my dad was able to get a newer version of this and it's now a dual speaker. I just don't know where to find one on the internet.
Also, beware of fakes, they don't last long

I haven't seen much beat these :

Each one under £14 and it really rocks! I bought one and most people who hear it are amazed by the loudness and the bass ability when you unscrew it. Very small (easily fits in the palm of your hand) and youcan daisychain them together with the built-in socket.
Does anyone know of a speaker system that does NOT require a 3.5 mm jack and plugs directly into the mini USB port?
I can go the other way, but if I had one less dongle to carry that would be good.
Thanks in advance.
If you want sth really weird, look here:

But, onto sth more serious: I dont think that MiniUSB can support speaker. It is data out only...

FM Radio Question

Is it possible to play FM radio without headset inserted by using some sort of hack.
That hack would involve convincing your phone to tune into a signal without an aerial. That will be quite the feat...let us know how that works out.
Ok that was my original thought. So what would happen if i where to get a pair of headphones and cut all the wire off and just use the plug. Do you think i would still get signal then or would it need the wire.
The wire IS the aerial. you need it. The phone's inbuilt antenna won't do it, the plug is also not sufficient. Sorry
Darn it!!!
oh well i suppose last FM will do.
Thanks for your replys m8
one way i always used to do it (and works on the desire perfectly)
is get some old, maybe non working headphones, cut them off at about 5 cm from the plug, and there you go.
you will ofcourse not get as good reception as usually, but where i live i have no trouble at all, the signal is crystal clear

External Microphone

I was wondering if anyone would know about a great external mic that works with the One X, I was looking for something similar to this iphone one http://www.onsources.com/product_images/q/324/iphone_recorder__56380_zoom.jpg (3.5mm jack) but I actually want a bigger one with more premium sound quality. Couldn't find any on the market, I also don't know if they'll work with the One X...
Please help me, thanks
Just ordered a similar one today so should get it for Friday. Had one for my iPod but will take it as lost due to size. If it does work it will trick the phone into thinking the headphones are in. But if you are recording a band etc that shouldn't be a problem.

[Q] HTC Desire Components

Hi!
I recently bought a HTC Desire from a friend, seems like he manage to break the minijack (only one headphone works when plugged in - the left one works, both works when i pull the jack further out, but with terrible connection), i tried to clean it - but still the same problem..
Also the speaker is broken..
Are there any places i can get hold of a speaker and minijack for HTC Desire?
Is it possible to solder of those to components and change?
Thanks for all help on beforehand!
Best regards,
DanVazz

Don't know how well that would go, I think you'd be better off buying the upper board (or upper and lower) and replacing that.
So where can I get this "upper board"?
Thanks for quick reply!

Seems like its going to be this one then. Also this will only change the minijack i guess.. Most likely going to buy this one to, if this one will replace speaker.
