When it's over 120 you should try to settle down your phone. I played 3D games while charging and it gets really hot, but still my phone can manage it.

[Q] Battery temperature?

Hi all,
Can you tell me how much does your battery of desire z heat? I think mine is over heating during charging. Please tell me your charging (temperature of battery an hour after pluging) and non charging temperatures in celcius.
for me around 25-30 degrees celcius
Earlier mine was -5 yours seems a lil warm hmm but now while charging 38c and 100f

According to SetCPU, my G2's battery is currently at 40.7 Celsius while charging with the profile set to drastically underclock once it hits 45.5.

My battery gets pretty warm when it's charging. Last I checked, it hovers around 40C. Shouldn't get too worried about temperature unless it breaks the 45-50 degree mark as batteries get warm in general when charging.

I saw 48,1 a while ago so it got me worried. Do you think me to send my desire z to authorized service?

If its staying under 50* I wouldn't be horribly worried. When charging and OC'd mine has hit the 45* mark (had a setCPU profile for it) a few times. I just gave it a rest for a minute and its back down to normal.
If your battery is hitting the 45* mark quickly or without much use you may have an issue going on. Other than that, I wouldn't be alarmed if you get high temps under heavy use or if you're largely OC'd.

so it would be better if i wait to send. I have noticed that it is heating while i am talking with charging at the same time.
My battery tends to heat up when I'm using mobile data, but it never goes beyond 50
Oh btw, if you have high battery temps while charging, this reduces your battery life because the temps mess up the chemical compounds in the battery over time

G3 bricked?

Argg!
I was playing a game on my G3 (UK 16GB) and it got SUPER hot!
It turned off and now will not turn back on. It's stuck on the LG initial splash screen.
I've done all the usual (remove battery, power + volume down, recharge battery etc) but I'm stuck.
Any suggestions before I return it today?
I'm sad ?

Has the phone called back down yet?
Don't try to turn it on until its cooled down.
Take the battery out and leave the back door off for half hour then try again.
Just so we know, did you turn Thermal Throttling off in the hidden menu? If so, this is a prime example of why I have been telling people not to do this.

Hey Lenny,
I didn't turn Thermal Throttling off. And I would also advise people to not do that.
I've just returned from CPW with a brand new handset! FYI the 28 day replacement policy starts from the day you receive the phone so I was still covered. Just!
I did all the things you suggest. It was stone cold and it still wouldn't get past the LG boot screen. Also the little sparkly animation on the LG letters wasn't playing which suggests it borks out very early on in the boot sequence.
I really hope we don't start to see this more.
Fingers crossed!

Thats cool,my G3s ran Antutu at 60+deg C and idled at 45-58. Your temps make me wonder if i had faulty units (i had 2 as the first one had a fault).
Edit, just read you said battery temp? You need to measure CPU temp not battery.

That is what i wanted to know... Is there any apps out there that can measure cpu temp accurately? Does our cpu have built in sensor? Batt is heating upto 40c,,, what more in cpu... I wanted to run a full test again after fully charge.

My phone is getting hot while charging

Hello guys
just bought my phone recently
yesterday while it was charging form (5% to 55%)
it was very hot (45 celsius / 131 fahrenheit)
so i removed it till it cool down and re-plug it again
is it normal ?
Of course it's normal. QC is always hot.
That's why we suggest don't make phone calls or play heavy games while during QC. It will be harmful to your battery.

It's within safe temperature. But quite hot if you had screen off and not doing anything (downloading/updating etc). Next time restart phone, then charge. If that's OK, it's probably stray app running in background.

Well first of all, you say that it gets too hot? Can you show us a screen shot of how 'hot' it is? It's quite normal that it heats that's just the way how electronics work.. What is your surrounding temperature?

CPU-Z is a good app. Also CPU float to monitor the CPU temp when you are gaming. 40 C is a quite hot surrounding temperature.. Its normal for smartphones to get that hot in such environment. Try to stay out of the sun...

Phone Heating a Lot when charging

This seems like a regular topic but i seemed to have tried everything, phone heats up crazy when dash charging tried different cables too, removed unecessary apps, tweaked kernal for thermal settings.
This seemes to happen from official oreo update, right now i am on Aicp rom.
ALso one of the factors contributing to it may be the heat in India Mumbai since its summer, the room temperature is around 30 degrees and out side can go as high as 40.
I doubt the battery health, i need your opinions

Happens without the case too, also a thick case seems to cut the heat but still it ain't a solution
Pretty sure this is normal.
It's supposed to be like this, Battery charging speed and efficiency are increased when the battery heats up
