DIY "proclip" mount for $6 - Thunderbolt Accessories

So this is for the cheapskates out there like me that dont feel like paying $30 for a simple bent piece of metal. I looked at the clip idea from proclips and thought of my daughters frog tank in her room and the metal tank lid clips we use to secure it on. They are very similar to the proclip idea so I went to cutting and bending them to clip onto my Prius dash. After a bit of cutting, bending and simple spray-paint heres what I ended up with.

All this is is the simple tank lid clip cut to fit and a cheap swivel mount cell phone holder for $5-$10 screwed to the clip.

Here is what the clip looks like installed with no holder. As you can see the clip does push in the center plastic just a bit but it doesn't bother me at all, and it creates enough room and organization for me to even prop the Ipad up for navigation in the center.
I will post a step by step if it is wanted. Just thought I would share how to make your own "proclip" style holder for under $10 total.

is that an apple product sitting next to that android product? thats just sickening.

Case with built in stand (Pictures included)

Thought I'd post this up; I bought this off ebay for £2.52 which is a bargain, given the product does what it says on the tin and still feels quite robust.

It is about a millimetre thick but it still fits easily in my hand. There are cutouts for all the ports, switches and the pen; but it will still make pressing the buttons marginally harder.
One nice thing I noted was that the cutouts around the USB port and pen are larger than they 'have' to be, so getting the pen out is easy and you can use USB cables with large tips.
I went with this because there was another cheap case with a stand but people complained that the leg didn't feel strong on that one. This one however, feels quite strong. Double hinged and on a rail, the leg feels quite premium and will lock at 4 different angles.
I think this is also the same thing;

But I got mine off ebay here (I like this seller because he sent it in a bubble envelope and wrapped it in bubble wrap bags 4 times over). [More pics at the ebay listing]

I bought this so I could protect my phone a little and watch movies when I'm on a plane. I think it will serve me well.

Is there any case that fits with 11 pin adapter

Hello guys,
Does anyone use a TPU case that as suficient space in the hole of the micro usb to acomodate the 5 to 11 pin adapter? The adapter is rather large and forces me to take my case every time I wanto connect my S3 to TV.
I know that are some case models that are open on top and bottom, but I want full protection. I was wondering if the "Spigen Modello Series" is large enough on the micro usb connection to acomadate the adapter. Has anyone got one and could measure it?
Thank you in advance. Best regards.
Well, this answer is sortof cheating, but the bottom lip of my Incipio Silicrylic case stretches out of the way of the 5-to-11pin adapter somewhat easily, since it's made of stretchy silicone. It snaps back into shape too; no permanent stretchmarks.

Maybe I will try to cut it with a knife
That's a clever cheating. Mine is very tight and I cannot do that. I feel tempted on cut it with a knife. I'm afraid that it will be ugly
draco, random tire tread silicone from amazon, and hyperion honeycomb do.

Cheap Leather Cases How-to

I like to carry my cell phone on my belt for easy access and that was easy with my old phones using something I picked up at Home Depot. Now I have an HTC Sensation 4G and it was WAY too big for my old case so I went shopping on ebay.
Since the phone is long I wanted to switch to a horizontal case because the vertical one I had sometimes got in the way when I sat down.
I found this case and it looked perfect:

It even said my phone would fit! Two weeks later I get the case and it's WAY too small, especially when I put the phone in it's Otterbox case.
If you find yourself in a similar bind the solution is easy ... stretch the leather! You can do it with water but I prefer alcohol since it dries fast and you can repeat the stretching steps quickly.
1) find something that fits in the case.
2) wet the case with alcohol, insert the thing that fits and jam in something next to it, Start small and work your way up.
3) Repeat until your phone fits.
It took me 1/2 hour or so but now my phone slides in easily. I had to stretch the case about 1/2" (13mm).
I may have to repeat this when my new quad core phone comes since it's even bigger.

[DIY] Wallet case with metal plate

Just wanted to share my idea. I have a heavy duty occupation and went with copter screen protector and a wallet case. The wallet case has snap on attachment and opens from right to left. The sleeve has three card slots and a bill slot. In my opinion the sleeve was quite annoying since it's so light it wants to close over the screen all the time. I got the idea to put a thin metal plate in the bill slot to make the sleeve heavy enough to make it fall open easier. The bill slot is exactly the size of the screen, so there won't be any pressure marks on the screen from the edges of the plate. I cut the plate with small margin and smoothed the edges and corners so as not to cut the sleeve. Bonus effects are added protection against pressure and blunt trauma and added weight (I tend to drop my phones if they are too lightweight). I'm still on the lookout for an even thinner and lighter sheet of metal to use but am quite pleased with this solution as is.

Question Best bike phone mount?

Does anyone have any experience with bike phone mounts? I've only seen Quad-Lock and Spigen Gearlock Stem Bike Phone Mount.
I have this one on my Pedego Element - https://pedegoelectricbikes.com/product/pedego-premium-phone-holder/
It holds my 9 securely as long as I take it out of my Spigen Tough Armor. With the case on, the phone wiggled loose and flew out twice before I just started taking it out of my case and it hasn't been a problem since.
I looked into Quad-Lock and a few others but I really don't want my phone mounted like that because I can't see it.
I have one from SP Connect.
Stuck the universal mount on a separate case so I don't have the bulge all the way.
Easy enough to swap the case when I'm going riding...
Also have one of those silicone universal wrap things which I keep in my cycling bag just in case. Also works well, but rattles a lot.
Best mobile holders are the one-hand touch that hold the device by all 4 angles and they close automatically the moment the device is touching the inside back of the holder.
Like this one at 11euro. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001507407448.html
