[Q] Android 2.3.3 RUU S-off?

Hello everybody
i have installed the offical RUU... but i am not happy with it, no new functions which can be helpful.
Throw the update, everything is stock - apps, settings, NO root.
Has anyone a method to get S-OFF back?
please keep me informed.

Your best bet is Revolutionary.
Those guys of Alpharev & Unrevoked have teamed up and are working on a tool to root your phone.
Unfortunately the new HBOOT of our Desire, isn't supported yet.

I want to ask is there a way to gain S-OFF and root the phone somehow
i am trying with revolutionary but mi HBOOt menu is lower and i dont know is there a way to upadete it to 1.01.0001
people say that the S-OFF is gain with XTC-Clip but dont know if there place where i can buy it

I think S-on means that the nand is locked, soff means its unlocked

Have you at least tried to read the other threads/topics?
There are LOTS of people that need to root their WFS.
In order to root you need to S-OFF (turn off security in laymans terms) your phone that is something only possible (at least until now) with a hardware device called "XTC Clip".
If you Google "XTC Clip" you will find lots of info on this subject, stores selling them, etc.
Rule of thumb, first search (really take some time reading) and then ask if no other person has already posed the same question.
What you want is what most of the XDA community WFS owners want.

S-ON = Very difficult to root
S-OFF = Easy to root
(these aren't actually the meanings. But it's a simple explanation.)

[Q] Help with Band Unlock

Ok I am relatively new to moding my phone. I have an incredible 2 I would like to unlock the bands on and be able to use on ATT. I have searched the threads and I am thoroughly confused. I don't understand all the acronyms and searching all of those is daunting. I have rooted my phone with s-on and unlocked the sim, but don't know where to go from here.
Here are the details on my phone

Not sure on what other information is needed. But any detailed help will be greatly appreciated. I have read the tbh us gsm thread and several hundred others and cant seem to figure out where i need to go from here.

[q] android drivers and hboot downgrading

Hi all....
I know very well that there are lot of threads available to help related to Android drivers, HTC drivers and Hboot downgrading... But its way too complicated.. i spent almost one month downgrading my Hboot from 1.0.0002 to 1.0.0001... I have to refer lots and lots of threads,try different steps from different threads, some successful, some unsuccessful.... Its way too tedious... Can anyone please post the steps like step 1 , step 2 ..... starting from INSTALLING THE DRIVERS PROPERLY, and then DOWNGRADING HBOOT.. which will help people like us to save time and also do things in a proper way... SENIOR MEMBERS PLS HELP... I understand that devs have their own life too, If anyone can spend some time and post the requested steps that works here,, it will be useful not only to me, but for millions of XDA newbies...
If this is accepted and done, this thread is going to be useful to millions...

So I am interested in installing this ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37060683) on top of a custom kernel, please suggest one (or is it not needed?). So I actually need to root, s-off, bootloader unlock, flash a kernel, flash the rom and be happy . Now, can you please provide me links with instructions for all these? (Rooting, s-off,BL unlock,kernel flashing,rom flashing) and anything else that my phone might need? Thank you you are helping a huge noob!

What about reading a bit?? You have what it is called stickies that you should read before doing anything. Read the guide in my signature and that will guide you. Also visit the link in my signature (Ace Think Tank thread)
Being a noob will not excuse you from reading a using the search engine or google.
