You flash themes through recovery just like you would a rom - just make sure it's compatible with your phone and rom. Some roms have theming built in so you don't have to flash, ie CM7 and MIUI.
I've never used a splash screen before, but I'm sure installation instructions would be in the thread for the splashscreen.
Or Google.

I'm running cm7 latest build and I tried flashing darkhorse theme I put zip in root of SD rebooted to recovery wiped cache and dalvic, then flashed zip ..it just loaded back to recovery and said choose update zip? I'm lost???

What Recovery are you using? After it flashes it should send you back to the choose zip screen. Are you sure it's a flashable zip and not an apk for the Theme Chooser that was zipped?

darkhorse is a flashable theme. i think you're doing everything rigt, just back out to the main menu and reboot then.
check the link in my sig for the splash screening. it's a tutorial i made that lets you install any splash using either a manual ruu push or a pc36img.zip ruu. i'll update it soon to include recovery flashing, using edify scripts. just realized ur posting from xda app. lemmie give you the link... edit: here ya go http://tinyurl.com/47xqb4k

Yeah I'm rooted and have clocwork installed. But I don't know where to go from there when I comes to theme flashing lol

Dl the theme of choice (it'll be saved as a zip file).
Correct me if I'm wrong, but (i think) the rom yer using needs to be deodexed (basically choose a rom and kernel from the dev forum).
If the above ain't necessary for theme flashing, please let the op know.
Boot into clockwork and make a backup (i think its the 3rd choice?)
Navigate via volume keys and select via power key.
Always make a backup prior to flashing anything. Trust me on this. It has saved my ass many times.
(
If you are going to flash a rom, do that prior to flashing a theme.
If you are going to flash a rom, you will need to do a data wipe/factory restore. Then wipe your cache. Then go to advanced and choose wipe dalvik cache.
)
You do not need to wipe anything flashing a theme, but flashing a rom has the potential to overwrite the theme.
Flashing anything (rom, kernel, theme) is the same: there's an option to install a file. That menu has the choice to install from your sd card.
Navigate to your zip file, select (power key) confirm and voila.
It sounds intimidating at first, but if you've rooted and installed cw,.then the hard stuff is behind you
Good luck !

Phone dose not need to be fully charged. I digest as long as you have 30% of battery left as flash should be good
oh okay. just wanted to be sure on that. im flashed rom now rebooting
I'm currently on a deodexed EF02 ROM with a rEVOlution Theme. I want to change to the MyAosp Theme, but whenever I try to, I always get stuck in a boot loop. I wipe Cache like it says to, but it still doesn't boot. Is there a special procedure/ritual we have to do to change themes. I tried I different theme, it was a stock gingerbread blue theme, and that didn't work either.
Try wiping cache
Also make sure that the themes you flash are for ef02

I'm thinking you didn't read my OP. Let me quote this for you;
"I wipe Cache like it says to,"
And it is for EF02.
If I remember correctly, revolution remix has the lock screen mod and my aosp does not. If I'm correct on that, then the error you are getting is do to having an incompatible androidpolicy.jar file with the framework of the new theme.
So what should I do?
Try to redownload the theme. See if that works.

I ran into a problem like that, and had to start back from scratch fresh odin and what not, re download the file to make sure 1st one wasn't corrupt. Try again?

Pull the jar file from the system/framework folder from the rom you are running and drop it in the system/framework of the zip of the theme you are using.
I have tried multiple times to install warms theme for synergy Rom rs1. I have installed manually from recovery and clockwork but neither one will work, any advice?

I'm a noob and don't really know much about this stuff but I went to this page from my phone and downloaded the warm theme (click on the link that says "View raw file" to start download). Then I moved the file to the root of the sd card, renamed it update.zip and then applied the update from recovery and it worked fine.
Not sure if that helps any.

+1 on this. I tried several of the sources and this is about the only one that I could get a clean download from.

Just rooted my DINC2. Successfully installed Revolutionary bootloader (no problem installing with 2.3.3) Although CMW said it "installed" it wasn't showing up. Flashed a CM7 zip as well as gapps zip from my SD card (both successful). When I tried to reboot I'm stuck in a CM7 boot loop. Pulled battery several times, No success. Any help, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
pull battery hold volume down and power. when the bootloader shows up choose recovery then wipe everything in recovery and reflash a ROM. reboot then install gapps

Search for the Steel blue theme on xda. it's gotta be the best theme for cm7 IMO. There is a free version on xda but there's a paid version in the market that is updated now even more. One of the few things in the market that I had to have. If you don't like blue they have pretty much the same theme in a bunch of other colors.

i manually installed cwm recovery using the guide in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2044645 but now i want to remove the cwm recovery so i can install the one provided by Rom Manager.
how can i remove the manually installed cwm recovery?
when i install cwm recovery from Rom Manager over my manually installed one, and select that as my default recovery, it doesnt load and freezes at logo screen.
so i want to remove my manually installed cwm and install a new one.

Just download your new CWM I would recommend the touch version. Rename it to recovery.img and push it over using the commands you listed in the link above (step 20).

Do you have a nandroid backup of your rom? If not, what's your carrier? HONO has posted the original BELL and ATT img's as well IIRC.
Copy the recovery.img from it, and renaming recovery-backup.img to recovery.img -- backup your current rom before trying anything -- then reboot and try to install with rom manager as usual.

I wouldn't worry about it.. PM a moderator to delete them. It's not really a big deal. Most people probably just spam 10 posts to get out of the "New Member" usergroup anyways.
