Hey There,
I m using CM7.0.2 for a while now and i have noticed that when i get a call, it just stucks on the main screen and i have to wait till the screen comes
any solutions ?
i m using SetCPU while in screen off
Max = 245MHZ
Min = 160MHZ
Is there a problem with this ?
Let me know if its a problem and how can i fix it
Thanks In advance!
Dont use SetCPU. Use the default settings from within Settings > CM Settings > Performance Settings > CPU Speed and Governor Settings.
However, lag at an incoming call is something I experience as well. When a call comes, the ringtone will ring, but the phone will take about 1-2 seconds to show the call screen. Don't know if there is a workaround for this, but, I'll probably try setting the min to 352 and test again.
I have deleted setcpu now and using the setting within , i have set min at 345 and max at 729,hm ur lag for only 1-2 seconds but my lag was abt for atleast 10-15 seconds..anyways let me check with the current setting and i will report back the result.. thnx....

Ok i have my g2 currently oc'ed to ondemand 1497 max 245min and my problem is when trying to wake the phone. i press the power button screen flashes and then get a black screeen. i have to press the power button a couple of times in order to get it to wake up. anyone know how to fix this.....phone works fine when i restart and have a normal clock speed but when i overclock it i always get the wake problem.....
That's the risk you take when overclocking! Weird things start to happen the higher you go. Some phones can go higher than others.
I would back off a little to find your sweet spot.
Some people have had problems with the SetCPU widget, do you have that on your homescreen?
Yup... thats pretty normal behavior. I get it once in a while...
ok yea i lowered the max to 1209 n it seems to be working better now....
That's normal and happens to me. Avoid hitting the power button twice in rapid succession and you won't have that problem.
I always had the same behavior until I installed CM6.1 I have not experienced the issue since and I am still overclocked. My guess is that its a problem with the stock ROM.

Hey thanks that worked for me too...now I'm back to 1.4ghz with no problems..

I was having this problem with SetCPU as well on Virtuous v0.7.2 (Sense, 2.6.32.26-cm-virtuous-v1.1 kernel) and I solved it by creating a SetCPU profile for "Screen Off" with the default settings (806400/245760, scaling set to ondemand, priority 50). Works like a charm and I never get any hang ups after turning the screen on!
I also had this problem with virtuios rom,so i installed the pershoot kernal and that fixed my issues with the screen. No more problems since.

im having a problem with incoming calls. half the time it works fine, screen pops up...no issues. the other half the phone will ring/vibrate/light will blink but the screen wont pop up.
rooted, currently running CM 7 RC4, but any rom ive loaded does the same thing. any fixes anyone knows of? i also downgraded to CM stable 6.1 and it does the same thing.
is your phone overclocked or underclocked? are you using set cpu and have a screen profile set?
Are you overclocked? If you are, search for "wake issue" to find a solution. Basically, you need to increase the max of your screen off clock speeds until it goes away.

yes overclocked, using setcpu. not using a screen profile set...i will look into that now. also look into the wake issue. thank you.
make sure if you set a screen profile no to set cpu speed to low or you will have the same issue
Hi,
I'm running a cyanogenmod 7 nightly from 19 July (but had the same problem with all previous cyanogenmod 7 nightlies as well) on my Wildfire.
GPS always works and worked fine, only when using an app that requires the GPS (navigon, openbmap, google map, google navigations, google tracks....) and I let the screen power-off ==> the phone will reboot afer a random amount of time.
I do run all the programmes of my SD since my internal memory doesn't have enough free space.
This only happens when I'm using the GPS and letting the phone power it's screen off.
My kernel settings are: ONDEMAND min 352, max 729
I'm guessing it might work if I use a higher minimum value or set the kernel to "performance", but shouldn't it automatically work with "ondemand'?
Haven't read anyone else with similar problems and found that a bit weird.
I just test it with cpu min frequency also at 729 and it still rebooted
nobody has any clue?

Try not using such a high frequency on your cpu as it is not stable for all try like 652 for a while and definatly dont use the lowest frequency for your low setting.

Hmm... I don't really think that is the problem because when I look at my CPUSpy readings i have:
729 MHz : 3:32:51
480 MHz: 1:59:44
352 MHz: 0:36:58
Deep Sleep: 37:38:39
and I've seen occasions where it had run @ 729MHz for more than ten hours...
still screen off + GPS can kill it always in less than 30min
My phone sometimes doesn't wake when I try and turn it back on after a while when the screen goes off.
I am running CM7 7.1.
I am using default oc settings. (ONDEMAND, 300-ish min, 1110-ish max, no undervolting as far as I know)
I tried to press the button combo to get fastboot but it doesn't work either. I have to take the batteries out for the phone to restart and then it works again.
What gives?

368 is the lowest you should go and, even then, you might run into wake issues. Additionally, if you have anything like SetCPU installed, be sure you don't have a screen off profile set with too low a speed.

It seems to be mostly a cpu clocking issue. Raise your minimal clock for screen off profile if you have one and it should work.

I don't think that is the reason.
Back during CM6 6.0 RC1, I had set CPU with 256mhz off screen, and it was perfectly fine back then...

Are you using SetCPU?
If you are (and it's really not needed anymore) make sure your max on the screen off isn't set low as well. You can sometimes get away with a low min but, if you have a 256min/256max, you're basically telling your device to stay at 256 whenever the screen is off and no amount of pushing the power button to wake it will change that.

Not. I uninstalled SetCPU. Using the built in govenor now...
The problem you seem to be having is a bsod or black screen of death.
If you search that term in the forum you will find a few posts about it.
The only thing that i am aware of about the issue is that it is related to the use of your gps.
I have had trouble replicating the issue, it happens very randomly. I sent my phone to bell and they didn't fix it...
Same problem here i think its a cm7 problem

In my case it was a battery issue.
To be sure I tried the experience 3 times: OEM battery for a day, ebay one for an other.
At the end I had a black screen ( sleep of death) every time I turn off the screen on the ebay battery (galilio).
The voltage was alright, it was something else.
running virtuous unity 2.37
I've had problems with the screen-on and screen-off animations causing a black-screen-of-death.

You can overclock your monster to any frequency you want.Apps like set cpu have a profiles option.
For battery follow steps below-
Set up a screen off profile
You can make the apps underclock the phone when screen turns off.
NOBODY NEEDS A RAGING CPU WHEN SCREEN IS OFF
Also set up a low battery profile. It really helps.
My settings for my p350 go as follows-
Normal Frequencies- 245-787mhz Governor-SmartassV2
Screen off- 122-245mhz Governor-Powersave
Battery less than 25% 245-480 mhz Governor-Conservative
Using above setings i get 1.5 days battery backup with normal use.
Hit thanks if i helped.
Will try these speeds tomorrow Monday. Although CM10.1 has a wifi battery draining issue, maybe with this I can make it through the day...

I always use 480-787 MHz overclocking, Wifi turned off and APN Switch for disable internet connection (but allow to send and receive MMS) and my phone runs about 3-4 days with normal calls and SMS.
Also, you can set IO scheduler to NOOP, it will seriously increase battery life. And u can disable dethering.
