✰.Reflex S v1.9.71-2.0.41 - camera issues. - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I don't have permission to write in devs section. Could anyone take a look at videos recording issues on ✰.Reflex S v1.9.71 and confirm it's ROM's issue? Below are my samples:
3gpp: 3gpp movie Reflex issues!
mp4: mp4 movie Reflex issues
I made regular moves, while on videos you will see video freezing and flickering.
I'd appreciate anyone forward this info to dev section:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054435
Cheers.
Edit: On 2.0.41 still the same issues

RcmixS and Reflex S both have that issue.

Try different rom. Leedroid for example. If it still is laggy you might have too slow SD card. If your SD card is class 2 buy atleast class 6 SD card.

AuraxTSense HD Or just the normal one? If it's for the HD, then you have to wait, until the 720p recording is properly fixed. If it's the normal, then try an other SD card.

The problem is basically with your rom, i also had the same problem when i firstly used Oxygen rom. but it was fixed when i switched to leedroid.
Simply change your rom and you're done.
Otherwise you can also use lgCamera to make videos & update Radio to this: 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2. it'd most probably work.

I realized that when switching in between roms, I sometimes record in 3gp and sometimes in m4v.
The 3gp ones freeze, but the m4v ones seem to be fine.

[Q] HTC Desire 720p playback issue.

I have an HTC Desire factory unlocked that I recently got used. The device was running Android 2.3.3 with Cyanogen Mod 7.
I tried running 720p videos in H.264 codec, MP4, makarov and AVI format with Act1 player, stock video player, rock player and VLC player. The audio is out of sync and the video stutters, frame rate issues. Questions:
1) There was a post around the net that Android 2.2 has an update that allows 720p playback, why can't android 2.3 play 720p videos then?
If I need froyo to play 720p videos:
1) I am on Gbread with Gingervillian mod now and need to go to Froyo. KEEEPING IN MIND that I am a TOTAL NEWBIE to android, could anyone explain how I am to go back to Froyo. No technical jargon please.
if 720p playback is possible on Gbread only then:
1) Is using custom ROMS causing the problem, if so how do I go to stoch HTC sense rom?
2) If the ROM is not the problem (tried CM7, Oxygen 2.0, Amethyst and Redux and Ginger Villian) then why can't I play 720p videos?
PLEASE help me out here, I have been trying since days to get this working with no luck Once again keep in mind I am a COMPLETE NOOB so simple instructions please.

Thanks for that but my main problem is 720p playback. Could you help me with that?
PLUS I already have a a custom rom on a rooted device, I want to go back to Froyo? That guide is for rooting and installing custom ROMS.. How do I go back to froyo?

awesome. this should be flagged
cm7 does not support 720p i think... last time i tried it was a mess... try the sense based rom they play 720p fine
As soon as they will get the kernel code of the official gingerbread upgdate, they want to integrate 720p recording in cyanogenmod.
I had tried many sense 2.1 + custom Rom's
but non of the ROM had stock like 720p H/W video playback
please please........

[Q] 480p recording on Galaxy Gio?

Hey guys,
I see a few videos like this on Youtube:
youtube.com/watch?v=y6X5oYPNs7M
youtube.com/watch?v=IDh6NdObnjE
As you can see, it's much higher quality than stock.
Using LGCamera, it's possible to record at 640x480...but only if you are using 2.2 or 2.1
It's not possible currently to do this with 2.3.x. The developer of LGCamera says on 4pda.ru that it is a firmware problem and to solve it, you should flash back to 2.2

So my question is : does anyone know if it's possible to record 640x480 in 2.3.6? Or in any custom roms? None showed up when I searched "480p".
Is it possible for someone to create a mix of 2.2 and 2.3 that would include this functionality?
Thanks!
PS: Keep in mind when answering - sometimes camera apps will tell you that they are recording 640x480 but they are not. If you think you know a rom that has 480p recording, please be sure of it!

i'm very interested..about 2 months ago i write ti phiezx about this with anything answer...
Because i found a thread of ACE say with a stock rom (i have the code, it's a rom of samf.... i can research my post) the quality of video recording increase..
the camera of ACE is different respect a GIO, but if it's can do dor ace why we can't do for gio...
sorry for my english...
yes the videos are very true, the source of the video says that in froyo 2.2 LGCameraPro works but with the 2.3.3 update it cant record 480p and i dont know why
this thread is important!
We have need of some dovelopers...
Yes, indeed we need some developers on this case. 480p recording would be an amazing addition to our Gio. If only there was someone who had the time and will to do it.
correct!! if only theres a fast froyo rom!
Up! Up! We need some developer! I tried a Froyo ROM with LgCamera and 480p worked.
I tried to mix it, tried to get some of the files including the camera apk file in froyo and put them in ginger with root explorer and didnt work, tried to mod the config file and didnt work, someone knows how to make a froyo apk works on ginger?

Me too. I also tried to modify the media profiles.xml replacing 320 to 640 and 240 to 480 but nothing. Please help us! Samsung Wave Y with 2 Mpx camera records @480p and Gio with 3.2 Mpx only 240p? Why in Froyo ROM did it work and in Gingerbread not?
We need 480p for our gio! Developers, where are you?

P.S. Does it record @480p in CM7?
We should, could you do it? I don't have much time.
any updates? this would be really a great addition to Gio's Features !
At the moment, nothing. But I try to send an e-mail to some developer and only one of this devs replies to my\our question.

Youtube fix is available at

Flash the above zip and then the youtube only fix or flash the all inclusive zip from the post.
After many weeks and long nights of reversing and staring at the proprietary QCom binaries, I have a breakthrough and got hardware video encoding to work. Here is a zip file which can be flashed on top of an ICS ROM.
http://www.mediafire.com/?t7iupkna19ka23l
The video is encoded fine, but may playback on the device choppy, which I guess is due to the decoder codec not working fine. If you play the recorded video on a computer, you should not see any choppiness.
Many thanks to dermann for sending me his device which helped me do this work.
Enjoy and thanks for your feedback. I will post source changes later.
Greatly appreciate all your generous donations, every bit of it. Thanks a lot.

You never give up do you. This has literally just been released, and your already badgering the dev for more. Every thread I visit I see you hassling devs for updates. If you need full functionality go back to a GB rom
@op: thanks so much for your commitment. quality seems improved but framerate is still poor. Is this due to kernel lacking full hwa?

***mod edit
Poor choice of words is all i can say,
abusive post reported.
@op, how does this work since i don't think any of the hd2 kernels currently have opengl implemented in kgsl/adreno drivers unlike Evervolv for passion and bravo. I suppose it is for when opengl is implemented for hd2 or is openmax codecs not related to opengl in anyway ? (but then why'd they stopped working with ics ?)
@jwchips, relax and enjoy such posts.
