I am downloading other ROM s for few seconds. Here takes ower 40 minutes. That s why lot of people stay away from your perfect builds. Please, provide 3 rd. mirror with quick down. speed. Thank you for your great development. One of the best roms on XDA.

Application Dialer Storage (in process com.android.phone) is not responding

USB tethering doesn't work
Hi,
I can't get USB tether to work in this ROM. When I try to turn on USB tethering from 'Wireless & networks' settings, it says 'Unable to turn on'. It was working fine in other ROMS. Is it only me facing this issue or it is known problem.
Regards,
Jinesh

[Q] Fast and simple HTC Desire 2.2 rom without Sense?

What rom would you recommend for Desire? If I'm looking for:
1. simple: no sense, no extra stuff like facebook, stock widgets and crap.
2. stock Android UI.
3. the faster the better (good SetCPU app support would be great with overclocking and underclocking)
4. with all new 2.2 functions like 720p video capture.
OpenDesire I reckon, find it in Android Development
Will try today, if there wont be any better suggestions.

i second that.
I used OpenDesire for a couple of days and didn't care for it, I'm using a Cyanogenmod nightly (they're now basically release-quality) with a few unwanted APKs removed prior to installation (amazon mp3, facebook, twitter, calculator, live wallpapers, talk, etc) and it's by far the best rom I've tried. I've tried about 5 in all, all but Cyanogen being from this forum.
If you remove unwanted APKs, use extreme caution not to remove things that are part of the OS. For example, I removed the Google Talk APK but not its "provider" IIRC, since the provider actually does a bunch of other things and is in no way safe to remove.
Nothing against the other rom developers, but from my experience, Cyanogenmod is just on a whole different level.

with Open Desire
definitely faster, works better with setCPU.. even the UI is more simple and clean it offers more then damn sense! Like these customizable power widgets and stuff that weren't on stock 2.2 OS. thanks
Camera works decent too.. but some options is missing, maybe there is alternative camera app?
What's the name of that widget at the top of the screen in the last picture? Or is that one of the "customizable power widgets" that aren't in Sense Roms or whatever?
Only being able to select 2g and auto on dearest and open desire is a real pain tho
Don't listen to u about putting back all stock profiles to include 3G!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so what's the different from any other chat apps? is it more like BBM?
dont see any difference....
whatsapp seems way better with pretty much the same features...
and it'll be really difficult to get ppl to switch to a new system again
does anyone find it useful?
you know
iam in united arab emirates
i have entered my no. but there is no verification messages i have received
how can i activate it?
I can't see iOS version coming - it will override iMessage functionality and iApple will iBan it from App Store.
Doesn't work quite well and the interface it's like a webpage from the 90's made with FrontPage...
How is this different from WhatsApp? Why even download it when there's a better option?

[App] Control your phone on a desktop browser

Sharing a recommendation. This free app allows you to control your android phone over wifi. You launch the app (with wifi) on. The app tells you the ip address to key into your browser on your desktop/laptop (within the same wifi network).
You can send/receive SMS over there. Check contacts, etc etc etc.
Useful tool. I leave it connected when working so I can just handle my SMS really quickly.
Elegant design and well built. Tested on the One X.

[Q] High Data Usage - PLEASE HELP

HTC ONE X IS A LOVELY PHONE
but
And here's the problem.
My data usage on the phone merely from turning the phone on to look at the time runs to 20 megs/day or 600 megs per month. Can someone please tell me if that is correct.
I had auto sync on, but I have just turned it off. I've had to install facebook contact sync because facebook was not syncing facebook info to my contacts. This seems to work very well and is a free app.
I have 3G watchdog and Onavo running to try and determine what is eating my data each time I turn the phone on. I have various g-mail acts set up and I need to be able to receive my e-mail as soon as the server receives it. My e-mail acts are set up via Exchange Active Sync. In addition all my screens are full with apps and or widgets - bought the phone to use didn't I? My home screen has the weather widget clock which I really like - looks stylish.
Does my phone start updating each time I turn it on to read the time? Finally I have Skype running all the time with skype boot that I downloaded from the Play Store to ensure that Skype runs when I restart my phone. Finally I have lookout installed for anti-virus only, avast in stealth mode for theft only and android lost installed as well.
Please can someone EXPERIENCED provide me with some answers.
Regards
Allan
Android usually eats some traffic, but if you are worried about your traffic, turn off Skype, it really takes a lot of traffic and battery.
Menu, Settings, More, Usage
That should bring up the sense built in data monitor. Here you can not just set limits and warnings, but see exactly what is issuing the data...

Here maps settings panel is blank

On my Eonon GA-2114 (800x480), the settings pane is completely blank. Is this a known issue of just my bad luck?

Unfortunately this is a known behavior and won´t fixed by the Here Support. I wrote with them several times. App is optimized to not use in Landscape Mode. Thats the matter. Start a Route, you can set some settings there.
Thanks! Is there a better offline mapping solution for the US? I tried Sygic, but depending on the direction of the wind, I was only able to access countries other than mine.
I tried following:
Navigon - Not Working with build in GPS Chip
Waze - Too Tiny, Only Online
Here - Missing Settings
Sygic - Ugly maps, malfunctions in settings, lose of maps after serveral times.
and others.
TomTom - Crashes with 3G Dongle connected.
I use TomTom with Wifi Stick now (so no crashes) and its working very well. Its for 19Euro per Year... seems to be ok.
You can try the latest google maps. Its able to store offline cards now tow. But i dont like the voice and the style...
Becareful upgrading to new version ..won't start on mine.. But all other devices working ok.. I went back to this version and working fine..

Also on a 1024x600 Pixel Android car hifi the settingspage is still blank. This must be only Software blocking our car Radios.
Has anyone found an App or Hack how to turn around the Screen to Switch the map Location to my external sd-card
