I wanted to flash to skyraider 4.0, but I'm kinda paranoid. My radio is 2.05.00.6.11, is that going to sit well with skyraider?
Any of the Froyo radios should be fine, so you're good to go.

I'm still on 1.36.00.04.02 after the full NAND root process and flashing the stock 1.32.651.6 rooted sprint build.
Anyone else scared to flash the latest 2.05 radio??? I can't afford a $500 brick.
It seems easy enough (just flash it like a rom), but I'd love to see a video tutorial so I know what to expect. For CM6 Froyo, it might be worth the risk!
im on a rooted 1.32.651.1 rom and I flashed 2.05 radio and 3g still works, i also flashed the newest 4g radio but 4g just scans and never connects. went back to older 4g radio and it works again.

Can anyone else confirm or deny that CM6 works with the 1.36 radio???

I'm running 1.36 fine on CM6. I tried the 2.x radio, but my time without a signal was consistently around 60%...1.36 works much better for me.
I'm pretty new to all this rooting and ROMs and everything, but at the moment, my dinc is loaded with 2.15 radio/SR2.5 vanillia/S-OFF, but I want to get the OTA update for the official 2.2 android. I don't really understand how to do this, and I'm afraid I might mess something up, so any help please?!

Try it. Read and understand what you are going to do...before you do it. Then ask if you have any questions!
Well I'm able to go back to 2.1 sense, but I still have the 2.15 radio. Can I update from the official update with the new radio, or do I have to downgrade it back to 1.x
You have to go back to the stock radio. That's part of what the OTA is looking for. If you have an upgraded radio, it's going to skip your phone.
With all these new sense roms out im wanting to check them out. Ive been running CM6 and now CM7 nighties for a while. I flashed my radios when i first rooted and flashed fresh 3.4. Ive read alot about flashing radios messing up phones. So i have been real unsure on flashing them again. When you flash one of these new roms is it a MUST to flash the new radios, or is it preferred? Does a nandroid back up your current radio? and how important is it to keep your radios updated. I just want to be clear as can be on this issue. Thanks

It does seem that all of the new roms are suggesting to update the radios. In my experience, it has not been required to update the radios, depending on which kernel you use. (any custom kernel will work) I believe it has more to do with the PRI I did update my radios prior to flashing Myn's RLS5, because it was suggested to do so. I updated my radio, PRI, NV, and Wimax in a combo flash. No problems. Rom ran fine, but my battery life was terrible. I downgraded my radio back to 2.15.00.09.01, and flashed the htc 17 kernel. It gave me a wake lock. I then downgraded the PRI from 1.90 to 1.77, and have been currently running that on RLS5 with zero issues, and good battery life. Wake lock went away after the PRI. If I'm not mistaken, the reason you're suggested to update the radios, is because the newer HTC 15 kernel requires you to use the updated radio and PRI, and most of the current sense 3.70 roms come with the htc 15 kernel. As far as nandroids go, I'm 99.9% sure that they do not back up you're radios or anything. Amon RA, and I believe the newer clockwork will back up your Wimax RSA keys, however. I also flashed Mikfroyo last weekend, for a test run. I left my radios at the older version, and didn't upgrade, despite the suggestion. I ran the htc 17 kernel with that as well, and had zero issues whatsoever. So I'm not positive why it is suggested, other than I think the new HTC 15 kernel doesn't play well with the older radio/PRI.
Thank you. Yea I have the radio and prl versions u downdraded to. Im planning on flashing mikfroyo tonight. Just wanted to play with sense again. Do any of the kings kernels like #9 amd #11 work with the newer ota?

I honestly haven't flashed either of those kernels in a while, definitely not on any of the 3.70 software. I would speculate that they'd work fine, but can't confirm for sure. As long as you have a recent nandroid, you'll be fine. Just try it out and see how the phone runs. If it's no good, either nandroid back, or flash a different kernel. It is a neverending challenge, trying to find the perfect for a specific phone. I wish you luck!
So, I'm currently running Myn's RLS5, and when I flashed it I had to begin by flashing new radios (which I hadn't ever had to do before). (I'm assuming this is because it's 3.70? But I could be wrong here obvs, noobing all over the place).
I'm interested in flashing a new rom to my phone but I haven't for a while, so I'm wondering; do I have to flash new radios again before I change roms? Where do I go to do that? Most roms don't have a radio package to flash from.
And beyond that, are there any good Gingerbread roms for the EVO yet? I've seen a few but the ones I've glanced over don't have lots of support and that made me baw.
Thanks for all your help!

The radio update was for all 3.70 htc kernel based roms. You could either update the radio or switch to a non stock kernel.
There haven't been any similar problems since then, afaik. Flash away. You should be fine until the next big htc update.
Cyanogen released an rc1 that's Gingerbread based, and it's probably your best bet, but I haven't tried it.
Okay, so here are the specs of my phone:
SUPERSONIC EVT2-2 S-OFF
0.79.0000
041f
Radio - 2.05.00.06.10
I really love the battery life that I get with myn's warm 2.2, and I could live with it, but I was really wanting to try GB. I thought I read somewhere that after I update the radios then I can't go back. So...
1) assuming I've got a nandroid of what I have now, can I just start flashing away with GB from xHausx and the newest radios
2) If I decide that I don't like the new setup, if i restore my nandroid, will the updated radios remain, and if they do can I go back to the old ones I had somehow?
Thanks a ton, and thanks will be given!

here is a link you may want to read http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=790427 . but radios i believe you can flash older ones. its hboots that i think(not 100% on that) you can not go backward on. as for nand look at the link,i believe unless the rom you flash has radios those stay the same when going back. if you like warm 2.2 rls5 then maybe you should try synergy(myn is one of the devs on that ) is a 2.1 with 3.0 gb rom. hope some of my rambling helps you out
