So I've just synced my music to my phone using HTC sync. It's saying there is no music on the phone.
Usually I can play music through the sdcard/media/audio/ directory, but HTC is syncing it to sdcard/Music/
Is there any way to make the stock Music app look in this directory instead?
Can you goto the music files on the SD card and play them?

My thinking is if you play a track out of the new location when it boots the music app it might then see it.

Well, I connect it to my PC and use Total commander to find and remove the duplicated files.

I got my DHD recently and I tried to play some music via Music app. However,it seems that the app cannot see music files on my phone (~1.5Gb),cannot make playlists or add music (only paths are My Library and Media Servers). On the other hand,I can open music files one by one with Music app while in Astro Manager. Also,PowerAmp app sees all files and plays them fine.I also cannot access any SRS and Dolby settings,if there are any on DHD.Can someone help?
Are you rooted? Seems like some kind of issue with the ROM. Since the stock music app is a system app.
Mate,I really don't know! I've been using Galaxy S a while, this is my first HTC with Android.I have Superuser, same as on Galaxy, and running Android Revolution HD 6.1.3 rom.How can I see if it is rooted?

I also tried putting music on different places on sd card but it's a no go.PowerAmp sees all files and plays them fine.

ROM is Broken 100% please check next time the MD5
If you have Superuser then you are certainly rooted. If you have a custom ROM installed such as Android Revolution HD then you are also certainly rooted as custom ROM's dont come without root access (rooting is a software thing, not something to do with the phone. It is to do with the currently installed ROM).
The first thing to try would be to adb push the music app into the system directory. First deleting the old one and putting the new one there. You can get it if you unzip the Android Revolution HD zip file. I am unsure on how to do this but somebody I'm sure will be able to help

i just place it in a folder called Music and then just play the music it always works most likely its a rom problem
Me too I just have a folder called Music on the root of the SD card. In the Music folder I have folders with the artist names. In those I have folders with album names. Then the songs in those.
What structure do you have?
You might want to check if you have a .nomedia file in your music folder that will stop it from finding music
Structure is the same as yours and yes, there was a .nomedia file.I deleted it but Music app still doesn't sees no files...this becomes very annoying.

Ok,I found a .nomedia file and deleted it,and now Music app finds music wherever it is on the sd card! Thanks guys!
Now,how do you enter Beats and SRS settings?
Ok, Beats audio sucks big time while SRS is pretty good...and no custom EQ either.Voodoo sound is simply the best, but for Galaxies only.

why does beat audio sucks? i have it and to me it sounds super.
Well, the sound is pretty hollow, with almost no bass, and I have high end headphones...custom EQ is always the best solution.

Hi guys.
I have just flashed the above rom and restored all my app data using Titanium Backup.
However when I open the HTC music app it says I have no music on the device.
Obviously I do, and using Astro I can navigate to the music and play it using the mini htc music app.
But the full HTC music app still shows no music.
Interestingly winamp also shows no music.
Does anyone know how to 'refresh' the library?
Cheers.

I have one recommendation to you.
"Rescan Media Root" would be a good apps for you.
It will solve any problems with file recongnition due to "Meia Scanner" in Android.
Hey guys my complete music library isnt showing up on my arc however it works on my other phones? any Idea what it can be, Ive used google music and the default one and both have the same problem
Go to the app and clear its cache. See if that helps.
Also, have a quick browse and check whether there's a .nomedia file in your music folder.
