Can we get an update on how its going please?
allright guys. After reading the whole thread i see this is truely crazy how much people have this probem. Yesterday i got my second one. And with my second one i have the same issues...I am pretty sure it is a software related issue:
OR
The phone's kernel is ****ed up (battery issues, bad voltage on screen)
OR
there is something wrong with the G-sensor:
Go to your screen settings, and on the bottom of the you can calibrate your G-sensor. When you do this, you see both of the green dots go insane like the screen do!
What do you think guys?
The green dots don't go insane on mine, just slightly up and down. I was waiting for something a little more interesting hehehe

Why? I'm just trying to make a statement on this problem. And try to solve this. Monday i get my third HTC One X. The first X, suffer from screen flickering, mostly on greyish fields the second one, has it too. Both HT23 devices. Both problems.
Personally i'm studying IT, so i only try to get a possible statement with the knowledge i have, and with the custom ROM flash knowledge i have during very very much flashings with my Galaxy S.
I'm just trying to get a possible solution. Is this software or hardware? I dont' know for sure. Maybe Paul O Brien can say something about this problem. I'm out of thoughts.
We don't know, some phones have it some don't. Nothing indicating any differences between phones that have it and phones that don't.
Difficult to tell at this stage. We need a brave soul to check for loose connections but I bet no one will tear their HOX apart to find out.
Knock on wood my second one has no screen strobing as of yet 1 day old so far.
Keep replacing until you get one that doesn't flicker is the only solution for the time being.

What we need is HTC to pull their finger out of their arse, and rip one apart that was sent back doa, and then tell us what it is, tbh they probably are doing this, but need more samples of the problem to be 100% sure of it

Hey guys I just started getting the flickering backlight problem on my one x. I've noticed its gotten a little worse since it first appeared but I wanted to see if it actually progresses and gets worse and worse. I don't have time to send the phone in for repair (off to college in a few days) and I'm considering just dealing with the flickering. Also, my bootloader is unlocked so I dunno if they will fix it.
Thanks

+1 to Lawrence's comment, if it's 1.28, that's your problem its a very, very buggy software release if you ask me.

I'm not sure, if you've not long upgraded or flashed it mine took around 3 days to settle the voltages and stop flickering

Also is it specifically on the grey backgrounds I.e the recent apps screen?
Sent from my HTC One X
2.17.401.2 and yeah its mostly on grey backgrounds. Sometimes the recent apps screen but not always. I've noticed it doesn't happen all the time. Maybe its linked to brightness? Thanks for the help by the way

Oh, that's the most recent update which I also have, that's a bit confusing maybe it is brightness related. If it's like a strobe light on the recent app screen specifically on recent app background then it sounds like the software bug, but if you said you've had the software on for a few weeks, I'm a little confused. Maybe you should wait. A little longer and see if it settles.
No problem, always like to help
Sent from my HTC One X
Hmm okay. Yeah its a very faint and fast flickering on certain shades of grey. Hopefully its just software. I don't really have time to send it to HTC. I'll give it some time to settle. Maybe the next update of arhd will fix it. Thank you very much!
I hope it gets sorted for you! Good luck and sorry I couldn't help anymore!

Hey everyone! I bought my sister the CDMA One V for Christmas, to replace her aging Optimus V. I had rooted and modded her Optimus, and by the time she moved on to the One, it was basically unusable because it randomly rebooted so much.
I've been trying to stay away from rooting/romming her One since she got it, because I don't want to get back into the random reboot fiasco again and have her be complaining to me all the time about her phone not working.
Watching her use the phone sometimes though is actually painful. The thing is so slow. Transition animations are terrible. The thing randomly reboots on a daily basis. I've yet to do a single thing to it.
So my questions are:
1. Is this One V defective? With the random reboots on the stock ROM, unrooted?
2. If yes, I bought it from eBay, brand new, in unopened box. What's my best course of action for getting a new one/getting it repaired for free/cheap?
3. If it's not defective, could it be an app causing these reboots?
4. Is there a COMPLETELY bug free ROM out there for this thing that will at least speed it up some?
Thanks for answering any of these questions!
Sent from my Paranoid Nexus 4 using Tapatalk²
1) didnt get any random reboots with my one v on stock although the thing was very slow
2) dont know
3) dont know again
4) yup there are gr8 roms for the one v
just check xtreme sense ROM for cdma from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1943029
Try 'fastboot getvar all' and post results here.
Maybe its a Chinese fake phone
Happened with one x some time ago.

Would I need to be rooted to do this? I doubt it's a Chinese fake, but if it is it's probably the most authentic fake I've ever seen.

No you just have to have the adb+fastboot setup.
Hi Guys,
I've been having some issues lately, I Installed de Jedi-X16 Rom on my Note 2 (Awesome Rom btw) The first Days was running really nice and it still is.. But now i've been having some problems with the Keyboard & Screen (Not really sure if it is the screen itself) When i'm typing sometimes it stops typing like a 2 second freeze then it recognizes again my typing, even when I reboot after a few minutes it does it again, It doesn't do it the entire day but it bother me a little, about the Screen it sometimes stops responding too and I think the "Keyboard Problem" is the same as the screen doesn't respond to my touch, The phone is practically new I have it for like 4 to 5 months.. Do you guys think it's the rom itself? Even if it started a few days after i've installed it?
*** My nephew messed up my USB/Charging port (He is a 5 month baby) and he filled the Usb port with Saliva and it doesn't work anymore LOL, I don't really care about that since it's replaceable, but I pointed it out so You guys can tell me if that saliva could have affected the screen itself and if that is what MAY be causing the problem or is it just the ROM.
I hope you guys can help me
Thanks!

Me personally don't think it's the Rom! I get keyboard lag with my Rom. But doesn't bother me that much. As I don't complain about every lil thing.. if the phone works without any serious problems I'm happy!!
Now concerning that the baby had your phone in his hands. With it upside down, with his mouth on the bottom by the usb port.
Drooling all over it. Pending how long he had it and his mouth on it, the liquid possibly leaked a lil to far into the phone. That might be causing those problem's??
If you personally think it's the Rom then flash another one. And see if your problem persist!!

If it happens again flash a new keyboard. Deviant Development has a thread in Tmo Gn2 forum with different keyboard and themes. I have always use there keyboards with no problems on JediXp
