Ok here the deal, Well first i wanna say hello and thanks for reading.
I need a lil help, So here's the deal. I flashed my brand new epic to a custom ROM.
First i followed the steps (DK28-Odin-Modem-PIT) Worked like a charm. Then i flashed (VIPERrom (FRoZeN) DK28) also worked like a charm, But i didnt really like rom much, So i moved to (SyndicateROM) Now wow i Loved it but didnt like the fact that it was 2.1 (meaning no app2sd and and few other thing i didnt like)
Then i was going to try (Mammon's Bonsai4All) Still using CWM z2.5.1.0 to flash all these ROMS. So flashed ok but when i went to reboot its just stuck at the SAMSUNG LOGO.. So i said to my self let me just Wipe (Factory Reset, Cache,Delvik) and BAM!!! this the same problem
So i said well maybe its the ROM it self....
So wipe and again and install ROM i was on maybe that will fix the problem..BAM !!! rite??? NOPE!!! lol still stuck on the SAMSUNG LOGO..
AM I done for??? or is there a way to fix this???
Lucky i still have my evo....

EDIT: I notice something at the bottom of the recovery menu, It say E:can't open /cache/recovery/log ??? any idea why its saying this?
EDIT: I also notice while phone is powered down and i put on charger the battery Icon its also stuck like its not moving.
Just odin the DK28 modem again
battery pull
press 1 + power button
then if you want to try any of the EXT4 Roms Root with this instead of 2.5.5

Yes this was one of the first things i tried ,was to redo the Ordin
do you know which ROM i should flash once it done??? and is it safe after the Ordin reset to pull out battery and flash ROM??? If so which ROM so i be flashing ???
So far after the Ordin i Tried flashing only the 2.1 custom ROMS that was working at the time, Now im getting a bunch of errors inside the CWM menu while flashing. Its giving me a bunch of LOG errors.
Thank every one for reading and helping (Any modz feel free to close tread) I have phone working now.... What i did was just used ordin to reinstall stock ROM and removed sdcard while using ordin and BAMMMM!!!!!! YES!!!!! Worked like a CHARM..
Good to hear you got it fixed. Your problem was that Bonsai 2.0 is now ext4 only and you didn't convert from rfs to ext4. You need to either convert to ext4 or use rfs compatible roms.

Yeah i just learned the difference today sadly lol.... but thanks for your input. So far im not liken the 2.2 roms that's out, so ill stick too 2.1 for now syndicateROM is beasty god that thing flys so it will do just find...
Quick question... is there any way i can get the boot up sound and animation from the viperROM?? on the syndicateROM? i love the animation and the sound Fx from the VIPERrom. (FRoZeN) DK28 or have the sounds in a wav format so i can put them on my sdcard???
EDIT: And also the unlocking sound fx from the VIPERrom (FRoZeN) DK28 is this even possible to port something like that from someone ROM to another?
I have been trying for the past 3 hours to flash this ROM correctly. I've tried odining the eg22 deodexed modem, converting to ext4, enabling journaling, flashing the eg22plus kernal, odining the eg22 modem, wiping 3x data,cache, and dalvik cache in all sorts of combinations. I just get the Samsung logo with vibrations after flashing the rom. Does any one have any ideas of what's causing this? Also, after restoring a backup of RandomRom Osprey, I'm receiving Google Framework errors nonstop. I am not new to flashing, but stumped on this one. I'd be grateful for any ideas. Thank you.
When you say "I've tried odining the eg22 deodexed modem, converting to ext4..." did you mean to say modem or rom?
If you're starting off by odining stock eg22 rom then everything sounds right. If not, that should be your first step.
Maybe skip journaling and do it later? Or do the modem before anything else.

Have you partitioned your sd card yet? When I flashed this rom on my phone, I already have a partitioned sd card and everything went great. When I flashed it on my wifes phone, she did not have a partitioned sd card, and I had the same problem you described above. You have to partition the sd card because you need a separate partition for rfs and for ext4. All I did was partition the sd card and everything worked great. Let me know if that works for you.

Thanks for replies. Yes, I meant to say I flashed the eg22 rom, but it was the deodexed version. Should I have done stock? Also, my sd card is partitioned already. I appreciate the responses again.

I've modified/updated the install instructions. Try this with Option A:
How Do I Use This ROM?
How To Install RandomROM:
Pre-Steps:
Option A: Odin the .tar for EC05 deodexed EXT4.
Option B: Use one-click to root nearly any current setup with EXT4.
Option C: Already on an EXT4 setup? You're good to go, proceed.
Steps:
A clean install is recommended (Wipe 3X).
Ensure that your phone is on CWM 3.1.0.1 (Purple).
Odin a Gingerbread modem such as EE03, EF02, or EG22.
Flash RandomROM Alpha "Hawk".
Enjoy

I flashed Hawk directly over Osprey, just wiped partition cache and dalvik then flashed the rom zip.
Been running awesome.
Failed to move application. Not enough memory
I'm currently running the RandomRom Hawk 2.3.4 but four of my apps won't move to the sd card. It keeps saying failed to move application, not enough memory and it clearly shows that I have enough memory. Have anybody ran into this problem?
got an htc evo long time ago and rooted it well im running clockword mod recovery v3.0.0.5 and i used it to unzip honeycomb_dreams_v1.1.zip and i did wipe everything first and it rebooted and went to the splash screen of evo 4g and then went black and nothing ever happened after tht so my friend messed around with it and formatted my sd card and wiped a start up something and now it wont work at all and i dont know what to do now all i can get into is revovery now and so i need help thank you for any advice tips or anything! i have S-off and fully rooted. i also used revolutionary to root if that helps
mount as disk drive from the recovery and put a different rom on the root of the sdcard and flash it or try wiping cache and dalvik cache and see if the rom boots up
You need to put a rom on your sd card and wipe all and flash it. Don't unzip anything either. At least you can get into recovery, that's a good thing. If that doesn't work you might need to run the newest ruu from your pc.

@evo4noob i dont have any files on SD card it got wiped when my "friends" formatted it and ill try it anyway lol thanks dude
also when i tried to reboot after flashing honey comb after my friends wiped boot up or something all that it goes to is hboot screen and then i can get into recovery but my white evo 4g screen doesnt even show up now O.0... i really dont kno what to do now

If you mount in recovery you can download a new rom then just put it on your sd card
dude when i put it on and it says its done installing enjoy honeycomb and i reboot it it goes to my hboot screen the one with andoid guy at the bottom now matter what and idk why
so my friends formatted my boot from clockworkmod recovery also i think this why it wont go to my start up at all only hboot screen

Okay do this exactly first power off the phone take the battery out and put it back in.Next hold down the power button and volume down until it takes you to the bootloader then highlight recovery and press power down then while in clockwork recovery plug your phone into your computer.Next go to mounts and look for Mount Usb storage. After you enable usb storage your computer should read it. Next look for a rom you like from XDA and download it. Then go to my computer and move the Rom you just downloaded onto the phones sd card (not in any folders).Next disable usb storage. And the rom will be on your sd card then wipe cache and dalvik cache then flash the rom. (dont unzip the rom)

ok cool my friend sent me a link for and energy one its like 2.3.3 with sense 3.5 on it so imma try tht and then to a nandroid back up so this never happens again

CM7 is very fast and stable, also kinged shooter and Xplod by team Nocturnal are great roms.
I was wondering f you got this working? As long as you can get in to recovery mode you are good...
I just moved to MTD with StarskyROM V2.0 with no problems. I want to try CleanGB-MDT 1.0.5 but can't get it to work. My steps were:
CWM 5.0.2.7
Wipe Data/Factory, Cache Partition, and Dalvik. All X3
mount system
install zip from sdcard
choose zip
CleanGB-MDT-1.0.5.zip
The Samsung screen comes up for a few seconds, then black and Samsung screen again, and them into CWM.
Am I missing a step somewhere in my process? I can restore back to Starsky with no problem

You should of done a nandroid and its MTD no the other way around also when you flash a rom I'm sure you need /system and /data mounted...
No need to wipe three times anymore that's a problem only in version 3.x.x.x.x clockworkmods

Thanks Biggoron. I fixed my typo in the original post. I did do a nandriod backup before I tried, that's how I restored Starsky. I tried mounting both system and data this time and got the same result. Any other suggestions?
Also, thanks for letting me know it isn't necessary to do the wipes 3 times anymore.
Hmm bad download probably? Can you try and redownload it and mae sure its mtd ... if not then maybe have to odin back to stock reroot and convert to mtd via cleangb's mtd over bml script possible a difference between the twos? I'm not too sure I've never jumped roms on mtd always stuck to cm7

More than likely a bad download. You also should not mount anything installing a ROM. The install script does all the mounts for you. The only time you need to mount (that I have found) is intalling a theme or mod that works on BML or MTD.
Bad download was the winning answer. I should have tried that to start with. I did learn good things from both of you, thanks. I did flash the ROM without mounting anything beforehand and it worked fine.

Hey guys im having a issue where i cant install some/most apps from the market. I get an error '' cant install apps to usb or external sd storage''. Thr issue only happens once i install agats ff11 recovery. When i used sfhubs ff11 odin oc the apps will install fine, but once i odin agats ff11 recovery it stops working. I can unmount the sd card and install the apps just fine but thats the only way. I also can no longer move apps to sd after flashing recovery. Ive searched and tried the unmounting sd trick. Ive read about deleting some market temp files qill fix the problem but i never could find the temp files on my phone. If anyone could provide any help or point me to what i should try next i would greatly appreciate it. I know i can just no t flash agats recovery but i hate the stock recovery. Ive also wiped cache and dalvik but it didnt fix my problem. Thanks in advance guys i appreciate everyones work here.
I am on Agat's ff02 and have the exact same issue. Tried installing Ringtone Maker and get the same error.

Thanks for your response. i havent noticed the issue until i upgraded from FF09 the other day, but then again i havent downloaded any apps lately. i just flashed agat's FF09 recovery and it has the same issue.
