I need an H3G branded rom for the DESIRE HD. I have found a post in the forums
but the file seems to be corrupted. Does anyone have this ?
Are you sure that h3g has branded roms?
I bought mine with a h3g contract and the phones in austria seem to have unbranded stock roms.

Yeah my phone came with a branded rom originally. Not sure where i can find it...

Thank you for your answer regarding the easy ace removal tool. what i would like to know is do i have to go install a new RUU from htcdev.com? because i download the one for h3g but the feedback i got was that it wasnt the right download for the right model. and can i continue with the rest of the process on htcdev without installing a new RUU?

Depends. What did the tool say when you tried to run it? If you need a RUU and can't find a compatible one, make a goldcard and flash any RUU that supports hboot unlock.
cant root desire

Wait, how did you try to flash it? That link is for the boot splash, not the recovery. Download a recovery img, flash it from fastboot with "fastboot flash recovery *img filename*" and flash a ROM from the recovery.

i tried flashing it with this fastboot flash "fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.0.0-ace.img" from the tutorial at http://theunlockr.com/2012/10/02/how-to-install-clockworkmod-recovery-on-the-htc-desire-hd/ and got that "writing 'recovery' ... FAILED (remote: not allowed)" error. i tried the link in my previous promised to set my fon to ENG S-OFF which would in turn solve the "(remote: not allowed)"error and enable me to use fastboot.
Um...is your phone in fastboot mode? Like, did you select fastboot from the hboot menu?
yes i did. and now this is what it says "FAILED (status read failed (too many links))". for some reason im unable to add the screenshot to the post else i would have. what does it mean "too many links"?
still not working
@bananagranola no further tips for me?
Nope. Never seen than error before. Maybe someone else has.
Hi!
First sorry for my english...
So my problem is the next:
I've got a HTC Vision, i'm done with the rooting and s-off by using this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wik...Phone.2C_Set_SuperCID.2C_and_Turn_Radio_S-OFF
Everything went fine, now i can get su in term emulator, i see s-off in fastboot, but when i try to flash recovery or splash screen i always get errors like this: (with splash.img it's the same)
C:\adb>fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
sending 'recovery' (4442 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.779s]
writing 'recovery'...
FAILED (remote: not allowed)
finished. total time: 0.780s
I have no idea where should i start debugging...
I'm running Virtuous 1.0.1 and i'v got a modded cwm recovery (3.0.0.5) to charge with power off
Anyone can help me please?
EDIT:
In the wiki i read this:
"Assuming you've backed up your phone with Clockwork's nandroid, you can install the engineering HBOOT (bootloader), which among other things allows you to use fastboot flash (or flashing-over-usb from your computer). This is unnecessary for most users but provides additional functionality for developers. "
Is this mean i can't flash via fastboot without eng hboot?
Sorry if it's a noob question but it seems much difficult like with the normal desire.....
Yes you need the ENG. Hboot to push commands in fastboot.

somewhere else i found a solution to flash recovery in shell, and found one to flash splash img in shell too, but thanks...
my problew was only the eng hboot.... before the Vision i had a Bravo, and with that there was everything is simple... unrEVOked to root(1 click), alpharev to s-off(1 click again)... after those i can did everything....
the eng boot is new for me (in android), but now i know what can i do with it and what can i do without it.... but maybe the most important, i know, i can do almost everything without it, the only thing i have to do is to go on a longer way
Hello to all,
Mistakenly instead of installing the CWM img for desire hd I confused and just installed another cwm (cwm 6 that I had downloaded but in fact I did not want to install) instead of putting his 5.8.1.5.
It happened that the screen has gone before in pink stripes and after in black. I went to check the PD98IMG.zip (fastboot send me an error message and I can flash .img only in this mode) and I realized the awful truth (the size of the file was different to the 5.8.1.5).
I put the correct cwm into PD98IMG.zip and I have flashed. Now the CWM is correct but the touchscreen does not work in recovery and in Android.
if I touch it, it only works on one side and if I touch in a area select the choise in another area.
I ask your help I do not know what to do. I'm kind of desperate
My DHD is in S-OFF
Sorry for my english

Hi gevitan,
Thank you very much for you support.
I took the adb_fastboot.zip (Page#40, post#396)
I took a ROM with boot.img (I have an other rom but there isn't boot.img) -(attach file)
when I start the step (5) "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" I have the follow message: remote: not allowed.(attach file)
In the past I have used the hack-ace.cmd command for a downgrade and after change in S-OFF and root and and so for my DHD.
Now I tried also to enter in HTCDEV and if I use HTCDEV when I start "fastboot oem get_identifier_token" I have this error:
"<bootloader> [ERR] Command error!!!" -(attach file)
For step (5) (Page#40, post#396) I used the fastbool of adb_fatboot.zip.
For HTCDEV I used the fastboot.exe of android-sdk_r13-windows.zip extract in HTCDEV site
I wanted to explain the whole situation
What can I do?
Sorry for my english

About Relock the bootloader I understand that I have to use the adb tools for windows (I have windows) because I find only this documentation.
In the cmd.exe I started this command "fastboot oem lock " but I have this error message:
C:\tools>fastboot oem lock
... INFO[ERR] Command error !!!
OKAY
Do you have other rules to go in relock, please? because I haven't found other.
After I sended the command "adb devices", the answer is:
C:\tools>adb devices
List of devices attached
Without devices
after I did this command
C:\tools>fastboot devices
HT0C3R********** fastboot
I think that I don't know correct drivers file for adb. I have HTCDriver_3.0.0.021.exe and HTCDriver3.0.0.007.exe but is this the problem?
If the driver does not work, what should I install?
Thank you very much glevitan

That is correct. You won't be able to get anything in adb as you are in fastboot. ADB only works when phone is fully booted. The fastboot oem lock is correct and you should be now relocked.
Now try to flash a RUU from fastboot. your drivers are ok.

WOW..!!! :cyclops:
I read the "HTC Desire HD / Inspire Help Centre" but I don't understand well what I have to use.
I saw from Page#1, post#7 to Page#67, post#668 or "RUU (ROM Upgrade Utility):" but I'm not sure what I have to do to flash a RUU from Fastboot.
Try to be patient with me, but for someone who knows, it's easy to say "Find the information in the guide in my signature", but one that doesn't have a lot of experience is more difficult.
Can you give me, please, a link so I can understand better for the future?
I found RUU_Ace_Sense30_S_HTC_WWE_3.12.405.1_Radio_12.65.60.29_26.14.04.28_M_release_225512_signed.exe

are these the RUU that I have to flash?
My Radio is 24.14.04.28_M and HBOOT 2.00.0027
Does WWE means for Europe?
I saw that there is also "RUU_Ace_Orange_UK_1.84.61.2_Radio_12.28g.60.140f_26.05.05.27_M3_release_170856_signed.exe" and so on, but
my DHD is no brand.

Run the RUU from Windows and follow the wizard. ..." Is this the rule?

I would like to thank glevitan with great respect for his support and availability.
As an example for everyone in this forum and out, like other people like him, the reliability and humility in the person who proves it.
Now the DHD is working very well.
He flashed the original RUU through fastboot with before other commands incomprehensible by StarTrack (I think I should study a little more fastboot...).
But with flash with this RUU it was ok!!
Thank you with heart

Hi guys,
I have searched a bit but havent really found a solid guide.
I just brought my gf a HOX, and I checked it was shipped with Ship S-off, CID11111111111, Hboot 1.12
Now when I looked for guides to install CMW, all the method includes unlocking at HTCdev and fastboot.
Now I understand I can skip the fastboot method with S-off, how do I flash CMW and custom roms? Do I just put in the CMW.zip fie into the sd card partition, go to stock recovery and flash it as update.zip?
My previous phones were the Defy (2ndinit method) and the droid razr (bootstrap), how do I get CMW with an S-off HOX?
Thanks all, dont flame me for not searching, I didnt find any obvious method :silly:
You should be able to flash it directly with fastboot using "fastboot flash recovery NameOfFile" command or you use one of the flash tools.
Edit: After installation of cwm you are able to install custom rom via recovery
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
You follow every other guide, just ignoring the bit about HTCDev as you don't need it
Not skip fastboot, just skip unlocking through HTCDev. You just can flash custom recovery via Fastboot, without unlocking youre device.
Edit: Sorry guys I didn't read your above comments.
Wow its that simple? Even if it shows "locked" on the top, I can just ignore that right?
Cool thanks
Yep, as you have S-OFF so already have access to the other partitions

So what's the point s-off then???
You have to do it just once and from there on you can flash boot.img files from sdcard, without the computer. And you can up/downgrade your hboot as much as you like. At least I think it works that way.

Try that, didnt work.
But I got it figured out after reading some Chinese websites.
Basically fastboot wont work because it is still locked, but S-off means you can flash any RUU.
So I downloaded a RUU flashing tool, then just put the custom recovery.img into the RUU.zip (with nothing else inside but the android.txt file) and flashed it.
Now I have CMW and I can flash anything without having to fastboot boot.img
IF your phone is S-OFF you don't have to unlock the bootloader, you can just flash things 'out the box'. Follow guides as if you've already unlocked the bootloader

So if someone wants to install the JB firmware.zip and have a CID of 11111111, should they change their CID to a compatible one or can they just add 11111111 to the androidinfo.txt and then flash it and it'll ignore the broken signature?
What if they need to flash a boot.img seperately (a repack for example), can they do this using fastboot without unlocking it?
Hi Peeps. Appreciate any help here.
Recently got 02 faulty Desire HD from someone. No idea what he did. One of it has a bootloop, while the other is just stuck on the HTC logo. I will just concentrate my problem on the device with the bootloop as it seems to have a higher chance of recovering.
Was able to boot to HBoot and shows me this screen. I will type it out as I have no access to camera for now.

Firstly. is there anything to make it S-OFF? Couldn't find a method that works. Most of it I found requires to boot into Android which is impossible for my case.

I will try my best to explain cause I have no idea what's happening...
1. used fastboot using CMD to flash CWM to recovery. Error: signature verify fail.
2. Tried RUU.exe to flash. Simply says the update could not be completed.
Is there any thing I could do with Hboot or Fastboot that could revive the phone? I think I tried almost all methods... unless there is other ways that I have not tried...

Are you unlocked? Exactly what command did you use to flash? Are you drivers properly installed (HTC Sync with phone unplugged)? Did you flash from the folder containing your recovery.img?

1. I'm on s-on. Does it matters?
2. Bootloader should be unlocked after flashing the unlock.bin from htcdev.com. I saw the *** UNLOCK *** when I go into HBOOT.
3. Command I used was *fastboot flash recovery recover.img*. The recover.img is actually the CWM recovery.
4. HTC Sync is installed.
4. Yes i did. It gave me FAILED status. Error: Signature verify error.
I will try to snapshot whatever process I did to make my explanation clearer later part of the day.
Make sure the file name is correct of the recovery.img file
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using xda app-developers app

Signature check is failing or the .img file is flaw (try downloading again) or your bootloader is not unlocked in its whole. That happens from time to time. Try using this recovery image (touch CWM):
