This is my first post and I was wondering if anyone can help.
I have an incredible, 2.2, rooted, with Rom Manager. I flashed the lastest recovery through Rom Manager but when I try to boot into recovery the screen stays black with a thin white line on both sides. I had some backups from another Dinc I had and took a chance at a restore from one of my older Roms. Although the screen stayed black it did load the backup so my recovery appears to be working fine only I can't see it.
Doing this before I am scared if I load a bad rom or something and get locked up I won't be able to see the recovery to restore my backups. I have tried older recoveries through Rom Manager with the same problem however when I flash RA_GNM Recovery v1.7.6 it works perfectly. Only problem is Rom Manager won't use that.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Search for slcd recovery.

ok now I am really confused. I research the slcd and not quite sure what I have or looking at. How do I know? My old Dinc was literally only about a month older than my previous one. Can you give me a brief "Dumbed Down" version of what exactly this is?
Sorry to be such a newbie.

From what you're describing, your phone has a slcd screen, not amoled. As such, you're going to have a few issues here and there with recoveries as well as ROMS (due to your hardware not being supported by the included kernel). Search the forums for slcd and you'll see suitable workarounds for this.
To see what screen you have... Menu > Settings > About Phone > Hardware Version. If yours is 003, you have a SLCD screen.
Anyone who has the.new guy Rom ..is there a way to get the HTC pot penguin to as my boot image. That penguin is great lol

Just incase anyone is having this problem I did find a site with a fix. Download the file, change the name and flash through hboot. It has worked for me and now I can get into recovery. Here is the link:
**Sorry the site wouldn't allow me to post the link***
Only problems I have now and I am hoping someone can help is that I can't seem to install any custom roms that don't have sense. When installing MIUI or CyanogenMod, etc I get locked up on the white HTC screen.
Anyone know a solution?

That has the custom recovery you need for an slcd screen. I used that exact dl link to get the image. Then i used the unrevoked 3.21 tool to set it to flash a custom recovery then let the tool run. All went flawlessly
*Edit sorry i didn't see you fixed it. As far as cyanogen mod goes, I know it doesn't work with slcd screened incs because we have different display drivers. I believe that is true for all aosp roms. If you want a vanilla feel go with skyraider vanilla 3.0. It works perfectly for me
Thanks for posting that link and the help. I will keep checking to see if a solutions for slcd screens comes around so that I can install some other roms.
I just hate that I thought I upgraded my inc and as it turns out it was probably a downgrade.
To my understanding, I believe all roms work except aosp roms. I remember reading somewhere (but don't remember where) that they were working on a fix. So maybe it'll come before you know it
Koush's test #2 kernel works fine and will boot aosp on my Slcd.
Just wanted to let you know I found a way to make MIUI and cyanogen work on a slcd Dinc. I found the fix in one of the forums so I don't want to take any credit for it but it worked for me so I wanted to pass that info along to anyone else having the same issue.
I downloaded the Koush test kernel from Rom Manager, then I flashed the MIUI rom. Once flashed it gets stuck on the white HTC screen. I pull the battery, go to recovery, and then open zip from SD card. I find the Koush kernel, install, and reboot and it has worked for everything I have tried so far (MIUI and Cyanogen).
Hope that helps someone.

Really? My post above says that.
Your kidding right?? i didn't see your post as it was on page two so my apologies. I didn't mean to steal any of your credit!!! lol. I am just trying to help others out.
Alright so i am running the new SF 1.1.1 Rom and when i first flashed it, it had a reboot button in the power options im sure you all already know this. But then i flashed the Tw,lock because i prefer it more well after i did that the reboot button is gone. Is there any way to get the button back?
Did ypu flash the one from the SRF thread? I believe its in the second post under addons.
Also when i try to use TW 4.0 it crashes immediately so i have to use launcher pro
Me too. I'm getting the exact same problem. Any solutions?
Using Miui right now & previously on decks. I get this strange screen problem where nothing responds when I touch the screen. I thought it was only on decks & the problem was solved once I got on Miui but now miui is doing it too...What is this issue and is anyone else having it? Sometimes the only way to fix it is a reboot...
Q
looks like ur in the wrong section please post this in Q N A section and follow XDA RULES in about 5 minutes assholes will be flaming you on here
TO ANSWER your question
you probably didnt full whipe or are using clockworks recovery use amon RA for a better wipe
if its not the wipe issue it seems more of a kernal issue so try amon ras recovery and or use one of the many flashable full wipers that the wonderful devs here at XDA have developed try this one
by king
Link to format all full wipe flashable zip : http://www.multiupload.com/42OXEA7YFY
Try turning off automatic brightness and see if the problem persists...
I'm not here to flame you, but what's with all the people posting in the wrong forums lately? Just wondering, because it seems like a recent trend.
I would also go with a full wipe and reinstall to start, and see what that does for you.
I have the same issue. I'm using a little older of a rom, but any rom I go to i have the issue. A quick thing I've noticed.... ANY time my screen starts NOT to work,
I'm able to press PHONE, and number 8, 0, # and * work... thats it.. anything else is a no go. I have to do a reboot everytime when it starts. and when it does start.. its just whenever to turn the screen on to see if i got a text, or go to use something. No clue why but would LOVE to know a reason.
How do I use amon RA instead of clockwork? Also is there any kernel that is best paired with MIUI?
Same here with 1.11.18 nexus S
well i am getting confused here, which link has the latest cm7?
And can anyone give clear instructions on flashing the cm7 and gapps?
your help will be much appreciated... I'm still new at this and i just wanna be sure so that i won't brick my phone..
P.S.
if there is already thread could redirect me to that thread thanks!

This will have all future updates too, so might be worth you bookmarking.
is this stable?
Yeah latest is stable mate.
To be honest they have all been stable since 7.2
Use clockwork mod to flash the zip then flash gapps then restart.
Make sure to wipe all data and cache including dalvik in advance menu of cwm before flashing.
Good luck.
one final question,, is it OC capable?
Yes you can overclock in:
Settings- cyanogen- performance
Just remember each phone processor will perform different.
If you find its unstable on highest frequency, lower it a step until you find your stable sweetspot.
Mine is fine at 806MHz but some people have issues.
its still a rom im searching for...
hi intel...kind a off topic but where can i find cm7.1? i don't mind about the camera thing but i want to get as much juice as possible since im also a hard user, ive been looking around but i cant find the rom...thanks...
I have a copy that I can send you or upload somewhere.
BUT it also has wifi data issues.
It disconnects and only a restart can get it running again.
about wifi...is it a system restart or i just have to toggle wifi on again? and the disconnects are they prone? sucks that i use wifi most of the time...
System restart I'm afraid. Toggle on an off doesn't get it back.
Seems to be a regular annoyance that randomly happens with no warning.
now that's a major bug...thanks mate...
No problem mate.
OK, so before I flash to Infamous I have a question on what I can do to stop random apps from uninstalling themselves! I just noticed tonight that Google Sky is no longer installed on my phone as well as a few others. This has happened before but with different apps.
Why is this happening and how can I fix it? Currently my phone is rooted, backed it up via computer (click and drag) and then backed it by rebooting in to recovery.
Would fixing permissions take care of this issue?
Next question!
Installing Infamous (not to keen on the TouchWiz though..), do I need anything else other than the .zip for the rom? Saw a few posts saying I would need a different radio in order to get service/data, is this not included in the rom?
Anything else I would need to make this rom work?
Thanks.

In regards to your apps disappearing.. Are you installing them to your SDcard? If you are then they will be poofed while you have your phone connected USB and storage mounted. I heard of this randomly occurred in another thread (used search) and no one seemed to have any other ideas.
As far as the radios go, Mr -X- has this thread with the latest ICS radios which would probably work best with any of the ICS roms out now. Make sure you flash the radios before flashing the rom.
Good luck, hope this somewhat helped. Remember that on XDA Search is your friend and most issues other people have experienced and already have answers elsewhere, just requires some digging..
