Having an issue with bluetooth FC on ec05 and eb13. I have a new Motorola Finiti headset that replaced a Motorola H17txt. The trouble Im having, is that whenever I receive an incoming call using the finiti, the ringer stutters (for lack of a better term) and bluetooth does a FC (I checked the bluetooth options and it still shows my headset connected for media but phone is unchecked). Right after I flash it works for 2 or 3 calls then this problem sets in and continues until I Odin again. Rebooting the phone does not fix it, nor does unpairing the headset and turning bluetooth off and back on, though to even get the headset to actually connect back to the phone I have to do that.
I tried eb13 with the same results.
Odin to di18 and it's fine.
Odin to dk28 and it's fine also.
So anyone have any suggestions? Bad headset? Motorola problem, should I contact them about possible bad firmware? Bluetooth problem with eb13 & ec05?
Didn't have any problems with the H17 while running eb13, but it died before ec05 was released.
Bluetooth is broken in Froyo, it's more noticeable under certain usage patterns, i.e. multiple headseats with A2dp. went back to Eclair and bluetooth connectivity is flawless
So if thats the case, is there anyway to stop the update push or so i need to just keep telling it to install later?
Root your phone, download root explorer, search for "systemupdater.apk" either delete or rename, and voila! no more update prompts. So far, it's worked pretty well for me, and now I've fully functional BT, YMMV
I have the same exact Bluetooth and it actually works better for me on EC05 than DK28. Maybe start fresh and try again. Great Bluetooth by the way

Are you running stock or a ROM? I guess now I should wonder if I just got a defective unit and an exchance would help.

Trying to find some feedback from anyone using the BlueAnt V1 bluetooth headset with the EVO.
I'm having problems with the headset not answering calls maybe 85-90% of the time. It announces there is a call, but will not answer via voice command or hitting the button. I can answer via the phone but when I do it doesn't transfer voice to the headset. The headset thinks it is connected because when the call is ended it tells me.
Have done two factory resets on the phone and resets on the headset with no change. Also spoken to Blueant tech support and they weren't much help. All they said is they haven't heard of it having problems with the EVO and should be compatible with all Android devices. Their suggestion was to try it with another EVO and see if the problem still exists. Well, I don't have another to test it on so that does me no good. This headset worked great on both my Blackberry phones before I got the EVO and has the latest updates installed.
BTW...I'm running Myn's RLS4 w/ #17.
Thanks.
Well I don't think it is the Bluetooth , it is the Rom. I have problems with myns #4 with the sync in my email. I have a blue ant also and it does the same thing . I have tried other roms including virus and it works on them , try that .
sent from the phone that is EVO
Pretty sure I tried this headset when the phone was stock and with some other Sense and non-Sense roms. It has never worked properly.
Not sure if it has something to do with the lockscreen or not. The first time it is connected to the phone it works fine. But every time after that, it doesn't connect the call.
I haven't had any problems running anything on Myn's. But just to make sure, when I switch a rom again I will reset and try the headset.
yeah mine does the same thing, it works if i answer w/ voice command but if i press answer button most of the time the audio is route to phone speaker......Lame!
has anybody with a blueant tried it with cyanogenmod? i wonder if the different bluetooth stack yields different results. I'd like to see an app update for the blueant software too (had a cheaper headset that stayed connected way better)
When I pair the headset, it connects and works great the first call I get whether using voice command or button to answer. Then every time after that, it won't connect the call.
Maybe it has something to do with the lockscreen or the phone going to sleep. I will have to do some trial and error.
Currently I am trying out the headset with MikFroyo 4.2 (Sense rom) to see if it makes any difference. This rom is really close to stock so maybe it will work?
I will post back with my conclusion.
My headset works fine now. I have found there is a coding issue that exists in certain roms such as Myn's and CM that prevent proper operation. CM seems to have put together a fix for it. Myn's still does not work at this time. It has been requested as a fix for RLS5 final.
Running eVoKINGS Black Titanium with Mik's 4.2 base and my headset works good.
hey where is the fix for CM or is it just in some of the versions? cause i just flashed CM7 and some of the features i loved about the Blue Ant before are not working like it will not play my audio like it did before i use to be able to listen to my music and what not through the blue tooth. if there is a fix for it i would love to get that working again.

Sorry...it's been a while and can't remember where I read about the fix. If I run across again will let you know. Might try downloading "BT mono" from the Market to see if that helps. Not sure if it is effective on AOSP or not but worth a look.
Hello!
Is it only me or Bluetooth is not working well on new EB13?
Sometimes it broke the connection. Not very easy to pair and so on...
Is it fixable?
For me BT works much better on eb13 than Eclair. The issues you describe I had on Eclair... the only issue with BT now is overly insensitive Voice dialing function (which did not even exist on eclair) that does not have a "train me" function.

Bluetooth
My bluetooth seems to work better on EB13. I have to turn bluetooth on the phone on first and then my motorola headset but I had to do that on Eclair as well. The voice dialing works great and is impressive but when I use bluetooth I loose over half of my ringing volume. The only way to get it back is to restart the phone. Updated with update.zip from Samsung site. Phone was DI18 stock. Thinking about trying exe file from Samsung.
I am running a rooted Samsung Epic 4g Froyo.DK28 and I have finally got all the bugs worked out except one that is really annoying...
I have a cassette-to-3.5mm jack adapter plugged into the phone and I am listening to Pandora.
I have a bluetooth earpiece that it paired and connected.
When I receive a phone call I would like to be able to have the conversation on the bluetooth earpiece without having to unplug the 3.5mm jack.
Is this possible?
How?
first off, I'd upgrade to EB13 or EC05
You can try to use Tasker to setup different instances/profiles to accomplish what you want.
Someone asked a similar question the other day in the General section.

don't waste your time with EB13. Just go to EC05:

blazinazn - Thank you for your help. Since I last posted I have upgraded to EC05 (it's awesome by the way, thank you for that) and done some fine tuning as well. I am completely happy with my Epic now, everything works (i.e. Bluetooth, GPS) thank you for all your help!
Since the last time I visited this thread I have updated to ED12 and low-and-behold... this issue is solved!
Special thanks to the ACS team for bringing Gingerbread to the Epic and of course to the source who got it to them!
I am now running my Epic with ED12 (ACS - Leaky Gingerbread), I am still on the stock EC05 modem, and now when I am in my car listening to Pandora with my phone connected to my stereo with a 3.5 mm (headphone) auxillary cable and I receive and or make a phone call while my Bluetooth headset it paired and connected Pandora pauses and the phone call is routed to my Bluetooth headset!!! NO WIRES TO UNPLUG!!!
Completely AWESOME!!!
Hi
i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Two months ago my bluetooth was working fine with my parrott system in the car, but all of a sudden i cannot make any calls with bluetooth though the system, i have tested the parrott system using my sgt and my wifes wildfire s with no problems.
I was suspecting my current rom was causing the problems, but after using 3 different roms, and change the radios / ril a number of times im still unable to make any bluetooth calls.
Im now suspecting i may have an hardware failure but i really dont want to return it to stock then back to htc, does anyone have any ideas what else i could try before i take the plunge?
many thanks.
Are you pairing the devices OK? Set the permissions etc for auto connect?

yep. ive done everything i can think of now, ive even cleared of the pair on both devices and still having no luck. the machine connects fine - it shows the signal strength and battery level fine on my car stereo head unit (parrott), and auto connects with no problems
i managed to make my sgt ring earlier but as soon as it was picked up it was silent then the call was dropped after about 10 seconds.
ive got to try some other bluetooth devices now, i tried it on my samsung home cinema and it streams music fine but the thing i want it for fails.
thanks
Ever since ICS came along I have been experiencing linking issue with my car's Bluetooth.
While it can detect the phone, problem is every time it's connected as a media speaker device only. To remedy that, I have to manually go into the phone settings and enable the phone calls too... Every single time.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
Bumpers.
No issues on multiple builds and roms both ICS and JB stock and AOSP all work fine. Try deleting the phone profile from the car bluetooth and the car profile from the phone, reboot phone and pair again. Look for the message that pops up just after pairing asking for permission and check yes.
I have done precisely that. However I have experienced this on both of my cars bluetooth. This started after a certain OTA update.

Bumpie.
Sorry, another bump hoping for an answer.
I,m running stock/rooted JB gb08 was on GA10 before, no issues with BT. are you connecting to a factory car radio or aftermarket?
I have a kenwood DDX719 and it works flawlessly, music, calls no problem.
ICS is outdated you should try JB, it may just solve your issue. There is a new one/click in development sextape's GB08 stock/rooted build.
Pp.
Thanks for your reply.
I am having issues with both the factory car bluetooth and my Motorola bluetooth speaker.
I have deleted the profiles from both devices and re-setup everything. This time, car automatically recognizes the phone as a media device. However, I still have to reach into my pocket to take out the phone and manually connect it as a phone.
Your issue could just be the Motorola bt unit. Try pairing to a different phone and see if it works.

No, I am experiencing the same issue with both the car bluetooth and Motorola.
It looks like your options Are a Gb el29 stock build or a Jb Gb08 stock build and then test.
These JB builds are very stable, I recommend the Gb08, it may solve your problem. This has only been an issue with some of the unstable/experimental builds and ics qualifies as that.
Time to one click your problem away.
