I can not get my bluetooth to connect to my headphones any longwr. The problem arose during one of the cm7 updates. I am running the latest cm7 nightly and the headphones are plamtronics backbeat 903+. It sounds Petty but they music is my sanity during work and the gym. From my research I am guessing the issue is the kernel but how to fix it or if that is truly the issue i don't know.

Do a nandroid backup and wipe data/factory reset. Then see if you still have the problem after a fresh wipe. If it works after the wipe, you might have to stick with the wipe and set up your phone again. If it doesn't work even after the wipe then you can always restore the nandroid backup, no harm no foul.
If it seems to be a problem with the kernel I would try flashing some different ones.
I traced it back to the RC3 UPDATE. Reinstalled the RC2 and it works great.

All the other kernels are making me get a line in my screen when scrolling. The only one that didn't do that was stock#17, can someone help me fix my kernel problem or least direct me to stock 17. Thanks in advance, I appreciate it.

You do know rls5 is out right?
What did you wipe before you flashed it? I would highly recommend using Calikulin's format all zip
Flash this, and then reflash the ROM. This should help you
Make sure everything is up to date (PRI, PRL, Radio)
Then flash a #15 kernel. That will fix your problem. Netarchy has a couple of good ones out and MS79723 has a really good SBC one out as well.
RLS4 is packaged with an outdated kernel, which when everything is updated causes screen tearing which is what you're experiencing.
Update everything, update kernel and you're good to go.
As an alternative, RLS5 has an updated kernel if you don't wanna go 3rd party with the kernel flashing, so backing up with titanium backup or my backup (both have free versions in the market) and then doing a full wipe and flash will also fix your problem.
Hope this helps.
The only thing wrong with 5 is me updating the radios. I didn't wanna do the full wipe for optimal use. The screen tearing happened on 5 and 4. Any kernal besides stock.

So that format all gives me updated software or what?

So I decided to just update my PRL and that worked. My phone is not lagging or tearing. I didn't think that would do the trick but it worked. Thanks guys.

i am having MAJOR problems with rls 5 though. i'll see if i can get them sorted out. if not, i'll post. i think caulkin's 1.8 extended data settings messed me up, bcuz now i can only get text messages while in a phone call, and i dont think i am getting 3g.
One reason why I just stuck with 4. My internet was slow AND I had that browser slowness 4 host file flashed..just went back to 4..

Not sure what I did, but when I plug in my headphones it plays the music from my speakers and when i disconnect the headphones Voodoo comes up like the headphones are plugged in. I restored a nandroid from when it worked before, but still no dice...
Is it broken, or what should I do?
Odin is the Key to victory my friend

Not sure if I should odin or not, I did a full wipe and reinstalled my rom, and it was the exact same...
Wiping only clears user data partitions. If it's a system software glitch odining back to stock "could" clear it. You can always do a backup, odin, reflash your rom, and advance restore data only. Otherwise try cleaning out your headphone jack.

Yup was just about to say that... and I doubt cleaning the jack would do that lol

I've had this before. Not sure what I did to fix.. why not uninstall Voodoo as it seems to be the culprit, and try again? OR clear data on Voodoo, you probably have a setting turned on where it does the undesired effect.

When restoring data through nandroid, be careful to not restore things from gingerbread if you're on ICS. Heck, to be safe, dont restore data unless it's the same exact rom/configuration. There's more risk involved[fc's] the more variables there are in the rom base.
Well, as instructed, odined back to stock, same issue as I thought it would be... and I tried to clean out the port, but there isn't anything in there, no lint or dust... so probably hardware issue...
plug your head phones in and out really fast like your "doing it" lol I had an issue like that before. it also works with your xbox 360 controller.

Tried that already... did it faster that I usually fap, still no dice lol
Apparently Sprint is saying this is a known issue, and that I should expect an update soon to correct it... I don't believe em, but we will see....
Which stock should I go to if I want to do OTA updates...?

Ok so my other issue that I even ended up reflashing Juggs for is the bluetooth service. Sometimes when I pause the music player using my bluetooth headset it won't play again when I try to resume and then if I disconnect and try to reconnect the bluetooth service will just freeze and won't turn back on till I reboot. Also when I get a call sometimes I can't hear the caller but they could hear me. Is anyone else having those problems? Is there a fix for it? Thx ahead.

Try a different rom. I didn't have a problem with juggs. Try dark side. Are you sure you're wiping correctly. Try the dark side wipe.

Yeah did the darkside wipe and the darkside cache wipe b4 flashing. Im not ruling out my headsets but they worked fine on my Vibrant. As for flashing another ROM, I'll wait for a custom ROM from the official t989 ICS source...dont like flashing leaks cuz I need everything to work in my phone just like stock but with the option to customize my own theme. Thx 4 the advice homie.
Was running Aero's 10-11 build of CM10. Have been using his CM10 builds for a couple of weeks. Last night, the phone seemingly random rebooted on me. Rebooted when I tried to make a call after that. Now I can't get data. I have signal, and after wiping everything and restoring nandroid, I can make calls without the reboot, but have no 3g, or even 1x. I have flashed fresh installs of CM10, CM9, CM7, leak firmware w/ .320 radio, .312 radio, tried a couple different sets of apn, copied from My wife's dinc2 running cm7. Toggled mobile data numerous times...I'm out of ideas. Any thoughts?

Look at today's post about antennas, make sure they are getting good contacts on the back cover
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda app-developers app
Yeah, tried the cover a few times. But I have good signal strength, just as good as my wife's dinc2. Only difference is that I absolutely can't get data. On WiFi, everything is cool. And haven't had any reboots since before the OP.
I even restored to OE, tried *228 both options, again no luck. Rerooted and restored cm10.

okay so I was running CM10 flawlessly, no kernels or anything straight CM10 and the camera alongside everything else were all working. flashed 10.1 because it was the next nightly. Being that 4.2 is not stable for the T999 yet, the camera didn't work. after running into too many bugs I went back to CM10 and the camera still didn't work. ODIN flashed the stock 4.0 software, camera still failed...
I never dropped the phone or anything like that so hardware is a bit farfetched, any ideas?
did you bother to wipe at all during any of this? 10.1 is 4.2 by the way. did you make a nandroid of your cm10 (with no issues at all)... flash recovery wipe everything besides your sdcards and restore your nandroid.
Yes, I did. I know what 4.2 is dude, you're missing my point.

Calm down. Sounds like a hardware issue. Might have just been a fluke that it happened during flashing 10.1
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
If mt3g missed your point, then I also missed it. You said you updraded to 10.1 from 10.0. Then the camera didn't work, so you reverted to 10.0. Never said if you wiped anything, or if you tried to restore the nandroid (I think) you are saying you have. Assuming you attempted to restore a nandroid that should have worked, the next step is to see if the problem still occurs with a fresh install of CM10. If yes, Odin to stock. If problem still occurs, get replacement.
Ok.
