Hi,
I had one Defy with OS 2.1 Update1 with 2.51 FR Blur Version (original).
Next i upgrade it to Froyo 2.2 3.4.3 USAJRDN with JRDNEM_U3_3.4.3-3_SIGNED_USAJRDN.sbf
First i did the reset factory... Wipe cache/data.
The OS was stable but no Market. I try enter in recovery system with app "System Recovery" and on ROM Manager with ClockworkMod Recovery and i just can't. When the reboot starts to enter in recovery, it was booted to normal boot.
I tried enter in Android System Recovery with (Vol Down + Power) and appear the green android and ! signal but, i press in right lower corner and nothing. I need to reboot normal removing the battery.
I just can enter in fastboot (bootloader) with Vol Up + Power to flash ROMs with RSDLite.
Then I flashed the boot_only.sbf for 2.2 with the rsdlite and it reboot and nothing happens.
After this i flash again with RSDLite the new version
Android 2.2.1 "Froyo" (leaked,beta)
3.4.3-11 UK Tmobile Blur DOWNLOAD/Thread
This one bring back the Market, OK, but. As i didn't the wipe, all apps that i had still there.
The recovery mod continues. I can't enter in recovery mod.
This is normal?
What did i miss?
Thanks a lot.
To use Custom Recovery, disable ADB in Settings => Applications => Development => USB DEbugging
To use normal recovery, use Power + Vol down, and use vol up + vol down to see the options (not lower corner)

Not work. I can't enter in recovery mode (costum or normal).
Ok, first fo here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=944543
Download the custom recovery, disable ADB, install the apk, go to the aplications => "System Recovery" and click on "Install Recovery System". Then click Recovery Boot and you will go to the Custom Recovery.
If you need to go to normal recovery, power off your device, press and hold vol down then power on defy.
Ye, but i already did that. I have clockworkmod recovery installed. I try enter in recovery with ROM Manager, normal recovery (Power+Down) but i can't. With custom recovery, when the phone reboot, normaly we enter in recovery mode but, the phone rebbot again and enter in normal boot. With normal recovery, appear the signal and the green android icon and i can't enter in normal recovery too (we need to tap in the lower right corner of the screen).
No, tap in the lower right corner applies for 2.1 Android. For 2.2 you need to press both volume buttons to get the recovery menu.
So, procedure:
1. Hold down Vol down and power
2. When you get the green Android icon press both volume buttons (vol+ and vol-) to get the recovery menu.

it just vibes 3 times and nothing? I can get into Rom Manager recovery but why can't I using regular method???
Rooted today using unrevoked....then load Rom manager 3.0.0.8 made recovery from that and now I can't even boot in the Vol up or down + power?
If you pressed vol + and pwr you put it into debug mode. Pull the battery and then do vol - and pwr, it should boot into the bootloader.
Same issue as the O.P.
I press PWR+VOL DOWN and get it to the screen that shows hboot, recovery, fastboot, etc.... BUT I can't access Recovery AT ALL. The VOL UP & VOL DOWN keys do absolutely nothing.
Any and all help is appreciated.
Thanks.
Found the fix... had to remove the p5 img from the sdcard that was used to root the HTC TB. If you don't remove it, the phone automatically tries to load it.
I'm having this problem too only I can't boot into my phone at all. I loaded nerozehl's latest kernel and can't get back into my phone. It just comes up saying "Process system is not responding." I have the radio on the root of the sdcard but don't know of any way of getting it off.
Any suggestions?
EDIT: And I just remembered that I could do adb reboot recovery. Whoops...
Hiya i wanted to root and CWM my new desire HD so i followed this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=841076
Everything went fine and i got CWM up and running and installed MIUI but didnt like it so i wanted to go CM7 but i accidently went to the first sort of recovery mode (the one with the android on skateboards =)
http://www.nexus-lab.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/desire-hboot.jpg )
So it automatically started to install the HTC android 2.2 Ver 1.32.405.6
that went all fine but now all the apps keep automatically crashing but the worst bit is i cant seem to be able to access the recovery mode or CWM no matter how i press the volume buttons during start up i know the volume buttons work fine as they change volume etc but when i press them at start up its as if the phone ignores them and just countines to turn the phone on normally...
Im new to the desire hd but i do have experience from CWM from Dell Streak days...
Any help appreciated...
Power off phone.
HOLD vol dn, & then press Pwr On button once (Don't release vol dn until have Bootloader menu (HBOOT).
Use vol key to go to highlight Recovery, press pwr button once
Should boot into CWM Recovery (mine shows the HTC logo for a few secs first), if it's installed properly
Edit: If you still have the 1.32 PD98IMG.zip on the sdcard, it will ask if you want to install/update. NO.

Ive tried this but no matter how i press the vol dwn button it refuses to go into recovery mode and just boots up into normal sense...
You say all apps keep crashing,..........
If ROM Manager doesn't crash, you can "Reboot into Recovery" from there.
Hold on im getting something...
i can access the recovery bit but when i highlight the recovery button it gives me a red esclamation mark
so i ran a factory reset and the apps seem to be working for the moment
but still the red esclamation mark
i assume CWM didnt install properly then? but the rom manager says its installed fine but when i click on the boot into CWM it gives me the same symbol?

Hi there,
I think your phone might not be totally powering off, hence that's why you are not able to get into the bootloader [ the one with Android on skateboards ]
Try this: Make sure your phone is powering off completely before you try to boot into the bootloader. Go to go into Settings > Applications and uncheck the "FastBoot" option in order for it to power down completely.
Then try the same sequence again. Holding down the Volume Down button while starting up.
See if it works.
What happens when your in that ! screen, HOLD vol up & press power button once?
Also
You can also try to boot into Bootloader or Recovery via ADB commands.
Enusre USB debugging enabled and fastboot option disabled.
Check adb connection to phone first in CMD (Command prompt) type:
"adb devices"
you should get a serial number of the phone HTxxxxxxxxxx, meaning it can communicate ok
Then try either;
1. "adb reboot recovery"
2. "adb reboot fastboot"
Ive managed to fix it by going to rom manager and installing a previous version of CWM
Thanks all the guys for the help! XDA FTW
OH just a quick side note if i did every want to just say return everything to normal like how i got the Desire HD you know no CWM or custom roms just with the sense v1.7 how would i do that?
Make a CWM recovery of your Setup now, and also keep it on you pc for safe keeping. Never know if the sdcard becomes corrupted or not. Also make a note of which recovery version was made to produce the backup. Some are incompatable when trying to restore you backup with a different version.
If you mean normal, there are a few links around to revert to stock (if that's what you mean), and tools to help make s-on again. By flashing the stock RUU, you will lose root, and it will overwrite the recovery with stock recovery. If you had to made a goldcard prior to rooting, you may require this.
Added info from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=857537
To go back to S-ON:
•Flash stock ROM (RUU)
•Temproot using Visionary
•Use my tool, do Stock CID and S-ON (enter brand CID if you had a branded device, see second post)
•Enjoy your factory-state phone

Adding on to what UpInTheAir said, "If you still have the 1.32 PD98IMG.zip on the sdcard, it will ask if you want to install/update."
Note:
If u have finished the Downgrading process and u r done with the 1.32 PD98IMG.zip, remove it from the SDcard, safekeep it on your PC somewhere (in case your might need it again, maybe).
If you do not remove it, each time that you startup into the bootloader [yes, the one with the Android on skateboards.. Hehe.. ], it would automatically scan and if it finds that PD98IMG.zip file, it would begin loading the image to install the 1.32 stock ROM.

Is there a key combination from power off to boot into clockwork recovery? i dont want to boot up and then open up rom manager and select boot into clockwork recovery. thanks
Hold Camera & Power.
If your phone is already on you can run "adb reboot recovery"

Umm... no? Not sure about your phone but I've never used camera + power to boot into recovery and it surely doesn't work on my device.
OP: Vol. down + Power. Once in this screen, vol down 1 time to highlight "recovery" and hit the power button to select. CWM Recovery will then boot w/o going to the OS first.
I don't know why but volume down and power usually just boots me up. Usually I have to do trackpad volume down and power

Hello,
Recently I got my Device updated to last firmware, and since after all problems started to appear.
I tried to Download last firmware from the page and to manually install it but failed since mobile is not PC can't read the mobile on USB. (zip file doesn't contain recovery.img or system.img)
When I use recovery from boot screen it shows the logo and stuck
Mobile is not rooted or anything, if there's anyway to recover it, I'd be glad to hear it.
zc500tg boot loop
same problem for me after the last update
I can't enter to recovery mode. tried some combination like volume down + power , vol up + power , vol up + vol down in "no command" page but i couldn't see the recovery mode options
hey I found the solution
1. Turn off the phone, either by regular shutdown or by removing and reinserting the battery.
2. Hold volume up+power button until phone vibrates.
3. Phone should boot to Bootloader Mode. In this mode, volume up is select, volume down is "OK".
4. Using volume up, scroll to Recovery Mode and press volume down to confirm.
5. When you see the "No command." icon, hold power, and press volume up once to access Recovery Mode.
6.download the firmware zip file . place the firmware file on your microsd card and insert it to the phone.
Go to recovery mode>choose apply update from sdcards>choose the firmware you copied earlier>then wait for process completed.
If the installation completed choose reboot system firmware.
The asus logo loading will take upto 7-8mins so be patient.
I'm pretty sure he said he had updated to a later ROM, and the bootloader unlocking isn't there(last version was v39, i think).
OP, if you can, try to reboot to recovery mode, it should be able to let you connect the phone as MTP(storage).
Upload an older ROM to the phone, and then use the recovery to update it with the .zip you uploaded.
Hope it helps! Good luck!
Its very complicated. My T705's power button was damaged by water. And i flashed Stock MM rom with odin. It was fine after flashing, the tablet boot into the os properly, work very well in the os.
But then i want to wipe the cache and data after that, so i was using the code"adb reboot to recovery" to get into recovery mode because my power button was broken. (I thought it can be using home button to select in recovery mode)
But the nightmare is i can't select anything in recovery mode which requiring a power button. So i can't wipe the cache, also can't select the option to reboot my tablet...... I've tried to hold both the volume down and home key to go to the download mode menu, and select restart by holding volume down, but it go to recovery again even after removing the battery, i think it's because the adb command.
And the strangest thing is i can't use my volume up button in download mode menu, so sadly i can't flash the rom again,:crying: but the volume up is working well in recovery and in the os......
Is there anyway to prevent the tablet to boot into the recovery again? I'm quite sure it's not the problem when flashing MM rom, the problem should be the adb command makes my tablet boot into recovery until i change the boot setting in recovery mode.

Holding vol down + home key can boot to the download mode menu.
But the device will automatically turn on after inserting the battery, no need to press any button, but the device only boot into recovery after i use the adb boot into recovery command.

If that's the case that means the power button is stuck on or you wouldn't be able to power on or boot to Download mode.
All you need to do is flash the stock firmware or twrp and it will reboot back to the OS.
Hopefully I've got your fix:
When you insert the battery your device boots up, if so, insert the battery and press the correct key combo while the splash screen from logo.bin is showing to boot into the download mode.
After that flash TWRP latest version with Odin. Then when your phone again boots to recovery, chose Reboot -> System to boot Android.
---
If the above isn't applicable and you can start Android somehow, I will download either FlashFire or MobileOdin to flash another recovery/ROM.

lot of problems can be fixed by samsung k300 tool ,disconect phone and start that tool and connect phone again and let the tool find the phone ,if found just click that icon and phone go to download mode and you can flash back stock firmware...that tool dont need adb enable just working usb cable ,i say working cant be fake...
