Hi - I just got my Roc Nation headphones a bit back, and the mic on them doesn't work, nor the volume buttons. I'm running CM 7 RC 4 right now on my T-Mobile G2. No one can hear me when I answer the phone, but I can hear them. Anyone have this issue before?
I have the same problem Droid X - Apex ROM. I didn't expect the controls to work because it was made for an iphone, but it recognizes a mic is plugged it because it turns off the main mics. I'll have to find someone with an Iphone to check to see if the mic is just broke.
checked other apps that record audio, sound works through the mic on those, just not on phone calls

Hi, nothing comes up when searching for headset and buttons here in the dinc forum, so is there any way I can get the buttons on the headset I have to work? I've got the blackberry multimedia headset. Its got buttons, a mic, and a 4 pin connector. As of right now my dinc doesn't recognize them. The speakers work and sound great, but the button doesn't do anything. However I don't loaded an app that supposedly maps the buttons to my liking, and that app does recognize that I'm pressing buttons, but nothing more.
Anyone else cross this bridge? I'd at least like the headphones to act like the htc headphones do for pausing and answering calls. So far they don't do even that.
I tried a pair of rocketfish headphones I had with the mic and a button built in, and those didn't work either. Those were 3 pin connector headphones. So the problem lies in my hardware or software.
My dinc is rooted, running the latest incredibly re-engineered rom, which is a very very good evo port. Its running the kernel that the rom flashed over when I flashed the rom package. Perhaps my problem lies in the kernel?
Anyway, got any ideas? I'm guessing other dinc owners would like to know the answer to this question as well.
Thanks
Making some progress with the headset control app. I at least have play/pause and voice dial working. BTW this is with the blackberry headphones. I can't believe HTC didn't implement this feature to its wired headsets. Even my touch pro had this feature. Perhaps they're just transitioning to the bluetooth headphones
EDIT: ya that app was apparently switched off in its settings, so now I really have no idea whats going on.
Ok so I am now using the headset button controller app. I've got pause and play set to one press and forward and back set to two and three presses. Then one long press opens voice command. Not exactly using all the buttons on the headset like they should be but it works.

Non-functional htc headset buttons
EDIT: My headset buttons don't register at all
Devnull-TEST ROM Kernel 2.6.37 on HTC Desire
Oxygen-2.0.1 works fine but I prefer the non de-odexed DevNull ROM
Will try to flash Kernel 2.6.38 and see.
EDIT: kernel didn't resolve this for me. Oxygen rom doesn't do as well as devnull on my battery so i will abandon hope of a headset solution and return to devnull.
I use my Desire HD for music playback and when using headphones I have strange problems.
I have used 3 different pairs of headphones with this phone spread over about 10 ish months. Each pair have headphones have been standard stereo headphones with no mic or in-line controls. The issue I get is something when I plug the headphones in they are recognized in the notification bar as headphones with mic (signified by the little icon) and other times just plain headphones which they are.
If they are recognized as having a mic, randomly while listening the phone will pause the music and ring the last called person in my call history.
I have no idea why they do this but it only happens when they are recognized as having a mic (which I'm 100% sure they don't). To get round this I unplug and plug them back in until they are recognized as just stereo headphones. This works for an hour or so of music playback until it will randomly recognize them as having a mic again and start calling someone.
As you can imagine this is VERY annoying.
Does anyone know why this is and how I can fix it?
Thanks in Advance.
I think I had this problem before. But it occurs when I use the stock htc handsfree. I could hear static noise and my phone will start to call the last called person. I don't know how I solved it, but i guess it is related with my jack-in or the snd3254 dspmode configuration. I'm not sure though.

I have never used the stock headphone since they sound pretty awful.
I do hope someone has a way of fixing this.

Hi All.
One feature I loved with Cyanogenmod on my SGS2 and HTC Desire was the ability to make a hands-free call while using the headphone out socket to listen to music.
When a call came in the sound would be routed out the headphone socket to my headphones/car stereo and the internal microphone would switch to hands-free mode and pick up what I was saying.
With the Nexus however I can hear the other person fine but they cannot hear me at all.
Is this working for anyone? If not I hope the devs build this function into their custom ROMs.
Simple solution: just get something like this.

I guess that is a solution but it's annoying when every other Android phone I've used doesn't even require one and uses the internal speaker.
Well, the title says everything. The sound on the phone is great for me, there's no issue playing Youtube videos inside the browser, music plays just fine, beats on/off doesn't make any difference and external speaker doesn't have this issue. There's no equalizer installed and I can't figure out what to do to get this annoyance fixed.
I'm using the latest stock 4.0.4 update and my One X is the international version. I'm still playing with the stock firmware to know better my phone. I did the same with my old SGS and that helped me to choose the best ROM later.
Thanks in advance.
I knew this could be a not answered question, because the lack of info and not enough testing. But that's OK, I kinda sorted it out.
I was testing my HOX with two earphones, one from Galaxy S, other from Xperia Mini. As they are in-ear, I never bothered to pull the HOX earphone from the plastic bag. So I finally did it and with those freaking lids in my ears, it works. Then I did noticed the different headphone icon on status bar, it has a button on it. The others are recognized without that. Quite promptly I inserted one of the old earphones and pressed the answering call button and guess what? With the button pressed, it works just fine.
My guess is that HOX is very restrictive with the earphone support. And now I change my question, is there any way to recognize those earphones properly or is it a hardware limitation from them?
Thanks again.
Hey guys, I just got a new HTC 10 (stock, updated to Nougat). I like to use a Sennheiser Game Zero headset for when I make phone/skype calls, but the microphone records a rhythmic static-y clicking. It does pick up my microphone audio, but the clicking is there on top of it. It stops when I mute the headset microphone via it's flip-up mechanism, but resumes when the microphone is unmuted.
I've used this headset regularly with both my PC and my older HTC One (m7) without the issue. I've also tried using a pair of cheap earbuds with an in-line mic with the 10, and it doesn't seem to have that problem.
For reference, here is a brief recording of the sound, uploaded to OneDrive: https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ai8_tx6LPas6h1-LZ0oNc-qBt9wP
If there's a better place to upload a FLAC recording that won't require outright downloading the file, I'll gladly re-upload it elsewhere for convenience.
Has anyone experienced this, or know what the cause/solution might be?
