from malaysia...no signal

Hi everyone
straight to the point..
I installed ROM ver 4.00.01 ENG. Unfortunately, now I cannot use the phone on my XDA. It can't find my phone network. I tried to go into phone options but the phone hang. Otherwise, the PDA works fine.
I've tried to install original o2 ROM, but.. still.. unable to get phone work.. it said.. no signal..
my XDA is a asian version.. any way to solve this problem.. i've installed this 4.00.01 ENG ROM for so many time, but still same problem exist.. and even with my original o2 ROM the one i downloaded from o2 website..
any suggestion?.. what should i do..

ROM : 4.00.01 ENG
ROM date : 5/16/03
Radio Version : 4.21.00
Protocol version : 32S54
Model No. : PW10B1 (behind XDA stated PW10A1)
*i've try go to bootloader menu, try to change the Band, but it can move down even i pressing the joystick.. it seem like not functioning...
1 more info : the o2 centre told me that i need to change the whole xda board to make the phone working...mmm.. is it true?

Hello,
When you entered the bootloader did you see GSM Error ?!?!
If it was Gsm ok no need to change it you have to flash it with the right radio stack depending on the hardware.

anyway.. the GSM stated NO PRBLEM at all.. GSM OK..
but.. can i install original o2 radio stack with this ROM.. coz.. my device PW10A1.. but ROM version is for PW10B1...?
i dont know what else to do...

Yes you can install o2 original radio stack it doesn't matter at all but it's not easy to downgrade if the version you have older than the current. Unless you could try this radio stack I already downgraded to this version ,you can get it from here ==> http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=9359&highlight=

6.5 Upgrade problem

When i try to d/l the HTC Touch Pro2 ROM Upgrade (EU) i get this message...
Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device. But i have the TP2 .... (unbranded)
Dont understand it please help...

I posted a S/N that I found online at Tmonews.com, that will allow you to download from HTC, or just get it from htcpedia.com. they have the same ROM posted there

I downloaded from htcpedia.com and from htc.com with such serial and none of them doesn't work on my device. I obtain the error "Invalid Vendor ID".
I requested support from HTC on theyr web site but thy don't solved the problem yet.

There are different WWE editions. Mine is from the SEA region so I have to download it from that site. Yours might be from the SEA region or maybe HK. There might be another one.

you need to hard-spl your phone first. check on the rom forum for detalsi

i d/l with changed SN but then i get INVALID VENDER ID notice....

because the upgrades available are not suitable for your device (that's the same problem i have, because there is no german upgrade out yet and in order to use the english one i need hard-spl...problem is loosing warranty...so keep waiting for the rom in your language...)

I have the same problem. My TP2 SN is European but still i can't download the upgrade and when i try to download the older upgrade that released on 4/08/09 it download without any problem.. Something strange!!

u get the "error status 7" is it?

I am trying the manual update. Download the file, change to update.zip, upload to sd card, follow the procedure and ... got error status 7. Google around but still no answer so far ...

I think I found out the problem. In Singapore, the Eclair version is considered branded, build 1.19, which include the chinese keyboard and other stuffs that normal version does not have. And hence, the OTA update downloaded does not fit to it.
So I guess, either we wait for the OTA upgrade or we try to flash some other stock rom and do the manual update ...
So troublesome to try since need to redo all the settings, installing software ...
You guys got any ideas.

I think is because of the roms u guys using now. For now, only WWE or Europe Rom is eligible for update.
Before update to Froyo, I got software version 1.21.

okie, after a lot of readings, confirm that Asia rom got no update yet. So if wanna get the update, need to flash the WWE rom 1.21.405.2 first, then upgrade. Or else, wait for HTC to launch the asia rom upgrade.
So sad, since Asia rom got chinese keyboard (I think this is the only difference), if we try to use WWE general rom, we need to find the way ourself. So, either wait or itchy do, it's up to us.

Froyo includes all the keyboard u need. u can type chinese (pin yin or zhu yin or anything u like) even writting recognition (I haven't try that yet).
But definitely got chinese keyboard.

oh, okay, thx a lot. So I should try to flash WWE rom then upgrade, shouldn't I? Anyone from Asia got problem of flashing WWE general rom? or put in another way, anyone from Asia successfully upgrade to Froyo?

OK those from Asia who want to do the update to froyo:
I don't know if it will work directly from 1.19, you can try, but you may need to get your phone to WWE v 1.21 first. For this you WILL need a gold card, you will also need a goldcard in order to upgrade to froyo from the update.zip
I am doing this as we speak, for the nth time rebooting hoping it works this time.
IF it works, and it's a big IF right now, I will post detailed instructions.
Edit: GOT IT! Woo hoo.
Stay tuned for a post in the General section about how to upgrade to Froyo if your hands are itchy like mine

haha, very itchy, so try to flash the 1.21 rom then magic happens, got updates when press check now and ... installing. Everything works great. In fact, do not need to do the manual update, OTA will do.

dude , why you want indian rom?!
I had Arabic rom, buy i updated to EUR 2.3.5, I just lost my Arabic language compatibility, but no any other problem like network coverage or something like that!
If the language is not important go ahead for Asian or EUR rom.

Yeah in theory shouldn't the Euro ROM work?

Pheu... Finally sorted out..
Actually i had flashed the EUR rom in the first place everything got updated n it worked fine too but the bootloader was not getting updated! tried other methods to update the bootloader which failed too! So that got me worried that i cannot update my bootloader!
Flashed the same Asia rom.
Downloaded the RUU from htvdev for bootloader 1.08.0099 India!
Then when i ran the ruu got an error n it didnt let me install it..
Then got two files rom_1.zip and rom_2.zip from the temp files..
rom_2.zip contained the hboot update files so tried flashing that by renaming it to PG76IMG.zip and making a goldcard but it skipped the bootloader update again!!
then i first flashed the rom_1.zip first (which updated my radio) then the rom_2.zip (updated bootloader and then changed the radio again) n my bootloader got updated successfully!!!! B-)

Hope this helps others whoz bootloaders are not getting updated!!

It definately has english........i know 'cause i bought my phone from Saudi Arabia
A few "versions" of english i remember are
1.English(United arab emirates)
2.English(Saudi Arabia)
3.English(Tunisia)
Still cant figure what difference it categorize english into so many countries which dont have any difference in grammar for english

Im gonna test it tomorrow. If there aint a bug Im gonna make custom rom for this.

hey man ! i am now on you Wildfire S cracker while unlocked bootloader and s-on , i wanted to thank you a lott for the a2sd which was amazing !
I just wanted to ask , where is the custom rom for this , and also i couldn't figure a way to install this on my PG760000 EU , so plz , would you make this arabic HTC rom to another Arabic wildfire S cracker , cuz here , all the letters in arabic are a mess ! By the way , i am Lebanese , and arabic is my basic language , but i was taught english from the first class , so i know it well , and my brother is on massive need for arabic , so plz , Do your ROM , as I don't think it would take more than a week ...

error [140] : error bootloader
i relock boot loader and run RUU and give me that error but i saw something may be that is the problem when i run RUU and press update image ROM i saw my ROM was 2.17.0.0 and the RUU ROM i want to update is 2.14.415.1 .. may that cause the problem ?
